Book 3: Chapter 118 (2)

Leon said, “During those three years, through our interactions, I gradually changed my view of the dragon race.”

“Of course, I can’t guarantee all dragons are like her, but I can vouch that she’s absolutely different from the dragons described in the Empire’s educational books and literature.”

The members were a bit surprised but not overly so.

Tyg had already told them some things about Leon and this mysterious Dragon King.

But hearing it from the man himself still sparked some excitement and curiosity.

“She’s not one to start wars proactively. With her abilities alone, she can ensure her tribe lives a prosperous life.”

“In the years I lived with her, I learned a lot of new knowledge.”

“Maybe many of you still have stereotypes about dragons—I did too, and that’s okay.”

“But please trust me: this Dragon King, who saved my life, is someone you can rely on.”

“She’s the ally I’ve brought this time.”

His gaze turned to the back of the crowd again.

Everyone followed his line of sight.

There stood a silver-haired beauty, tall and striking, serene as a maiden, her beauty like a finely carved sculpture.

“She… she’s a Dragon King?!”

“My gosh, I’ve been in the same room as a Dragon King for two whole hours!”

“M-m-m-my legs are shaking—this is too scary!”

“…”

This was why Leon had laid so much groundwork.

While people’s views of Dragon Kings were no longer as hostile as before,

There was still some fear, more or less.

After all, in their eyes, Dragon Kings were mythical beings who could soar the skies, breathe fire, and command the winds.

“Nonsense, how can such a gorgeous lady be a Dragon King?” a short-haired girl said.

As her words landed, Roswitha unfurled her dragon wings and revealed her silver tail, confirming her Dragon King identity.

In an instant, the crowd retreated ten meters—

Fifteen meters?

Twenty meters?

They couldn’t go farther—the Lionheart Society’s hall was only so big.

“Don’t be afraid, she doesn’t bite,” Leon hurriedly explained.

“Hey, you!—”

*Fine, I’ll hold it in.*

*I’ll deal with you when we get home.*

Roswitha retracted her wings and tail, returning to her icy beauty demeanor.

Once the crowd’s emotions settled a bit, a member asked,

“Captain Leon, we were mentally prepared before, but seeing a living Dragon King in person is still a bit shocking. Please forgive us.”

“No worries, I understand.”

Ordinary people, or even regular Dragon-Slaying Corps members, were indeed terrified of Dragon Kings.

Only General Leon would see a Dragon King as a *special-class merit*.

“Back to the point. Since we don’t know how many cards the Empire still has up its sleeve, I’ve brought the Silver Dragon King from the dragon race. Her name is Roswitha.”

Leon’s gaze skipped over the crowd to her, “Want to come up and introduce yourself?”

Roswitha opened her mouth, actually wanting to decline—she wasn’t used to introducing herself to a crowd of humans.

But after thinking it over, she decided she should cooperate with Leon.

They needed the Lionheart Society to trust both of them as a couple, or overthrowing the Empire would be tough.

So Roswitha stepped forward, and the crowd automatically parted to make way.

She walked onto the speaking platform, turning to face everyone.

Her eyes were cool, her tone even,

“My name is Roswitha Melkvi, the king ruling the Silver Dragon Clan. At Leon’s request, I’ve come to human territory to help you escape this corrupt, shadowy rule.”

As her words fell, the room went silent.

Not to make Roswitha feel awkward, but her aura and majesty as a Dragon King swept the entire hall the moment she spoke.

That kind of pressure was hard for even ordinary dragons to bear, let alone the humans present.

Roswitha also noticed the Lionheart Society members seemed pretty scared of her.

No surprise there—her first time introducing herself to another race, it was inevitable she’d unintentionally release some pressure.

Realizing this, Roswitha quickly toned it down.

This eased the tense atmosphere in the room.

*Clap clap*—

Rebecca was the first to applaud.

Nacho was the second.

Then, thunderous applause followed.

Roswitha’s gaze swept over the crowd, thinking she was probably the first Dragon King in history to receive cheers from another race.

Alright, after the serious, brief introduction, Roswitha decided to lighten the mood with a small joke before stepping down.

“Oh, by the way, I need to clarify one thing.”

Roswitha said with a serious air, and the crowd listened intently.

Even Leon looked at her curiously, wondering what she wanted to emphasize.

After building enough suspense, Roswitha flashed a faint, mischievous smile,

“I’m really not Leon’s godmother, so don’t get that wrong.”

The little joke landed well, easing everyone’s tension.

“Wow, dragons have a sense of humor too?”

“So who was it that spread the rumor the Captain recognized a Mother Dragon as his godmother?”

“It wasn’t me, don’t look at me. The version I heard was the Captain adopted a goddaughter.”

“…”

“Hey? Silver Dragon King, Silver Dragon King, if you’re not the Captain’s godmother, then what’s your relationship with him?”

Someone asked the most critical question of the night.

Roswitha froze slightly, her mind racing.

After some internal debate, she figured it was better to keep it vague.

After all, this wasn’t at home, so there was no need to… *ahem*… no need to play the married couple with Leon, right?

“Oh, we’re just—”

“She’s my wife.”

Roswitha: ?

“And we have three kids.”

Roswitha: ??
