Aurora looked at Tina with wide and curious eyes.
John hummed and then set Aurora down in her carseat before holding his arms out to Yue. "Can I, Yue?"
Yue nodded and then handed Tina over.
John held Tina in his arms and then looked at the baby girl.
Tina looked back with teary red eyes.
John let out a warm smile and patted her cheek. "There, there. Your parents are just stressed, Tina. They love you. Don't cry. You're very wanted, sweetie."
Tina blinked. Then she let out a wobbly smile.
John placed a gentle kiss on Tina's forehead and said, "Sleep, Sweetie. You can relax. Everything will be okay. Promise."
Tina blinked. Then she slowly nodded and closed her eyes, drifting off into sleep. After a few moments, her breathing became slow and regular, fast asleep.
Titor winced.
Amadeus lowered her gaze.
John shook his head and said, "It's alright. You two didn't know. But either way... how about we take care of our niece for a while?"
Yue sat next to John and then gently brushed aside a bit of Tina's hair. After that, she looked back at Titor and Amadeus, giving them both a once over. "...Husband is right." She frowned and said, "At this rate, one or both of you will collapse."
Amadeus pursed her lips. "I don't want to listen to..." She paused and then sighed. "No. I shouldn't be stubborn..." She looked at Tina and then let out a wry smile. "...Sorry, Baby. Your mother's terrible..."
"Hey now." John interrupted and said, "Don't say that. You two are just brand new parents who didn't know any better."
Titor glanced at Aurora, happily babbling in her carseat. Then he looked at John and let out a wry smile. "You say that, but aren't you and Yue new parents too...?"
"Rory is a very, very, very special case. Trust me. Right Rory?"
Aurora stuck up her arm and said, "Ba! Besa!"
"See?"
Titor blinked and then said, "Wait. Can Rory like... understand us...?"
"Ba!"
"...Ah."
John nodded. "Yeah. Rory's special. But either way, we'll watch Tina for you guys." He smiled at Tina's sleeping face and then said, "Get some proper rest. Relax and unwind. If you do that, by the time we drop Tina off again, she'll be happy and calm since you guys are."
Amadeus immediately collapsed against Titor and muttered, "Sleep sounds nice..."
Titor let out a loud yawn and nodded, already drifting off. "Yeah. Sleep..."
Yue chuckled and then got up to tuck them both in. "There, there. Rest up. Husband and I will stay around for a while."
John nodded. "What Yue said. So seriously. Rest up. And when you wake up, we'll get you guys some fresh food."
There wasn't a response.
But the reason for that was that both Titor and Amadeus had passed out before John had even finished talking.
John chuckled and then looked over at Yue. "Should we tuck Tina in?"
Yue nodded and said, "I will go get her crib." She got up and then started looking around the apartment for Tina's bed.
In the meantime, John knelt down by Aurora's carseat and said, "Here, Rory." He shifted Tina around a bit so Aurora could see her and said, "This is Tina, your baby cousin."
"Ba! Bina!" Aurora looked at Tina with wide eyes and waved her hand. "Ba!"
Tina sniffled and then opened her bleary eyes.
For a brief moment, John thought that Tina was going to cry and that he'd have to put up a quick isolation field to let Titor and Amadeus rest.
But then Tina blinked and looked at Aurora with curious eyes. Not only that, she slowly reached out to pat Aurora's cheek.
John blinked and then said, "Wait. Hold on there, Tina." He started to move back. But before he could, Aurora reached out to grab Tina's hand and then stuck it in her mouth.
John froze.
Tina blinked.
Aurora giggled.
And then Tina giggled too, babbling excitedly.
