Emma blinked and then idly twirled her blonde hair. As she looked at Meggie with her light green eyes, she murmured, "I... guess it's true that we can hang out with the high schoolers..."
Meggie nodded. "Of course it's true. And if anyone-"
Rin interrupted and said, "If anyone acts up, Onee-chan will beat them up for you!" She looked at Emma and flexed her arm. "I'm super strong!"
Yuri quickly interjected and pulled down Rin's arm. "No you won't! Sheesh! Is this what they say about karma?" After convincing Rin to relax, Yuri muttered, "I used to be the one kicking down doors and cracking heads. Since when do I have to make sure someone else doesn't do that...?"
Rin huffed and said, "Well, Aneue said that if anyone causes problems, I should just beat them up! She said she could handle the fallout anyway!"
"Asako said-" Yuri groaned. "Of course she said that. She WOULD say that..."
Meggie laughed. But then she paused and said, "Come to think of it... why ARE you two hanging out with us anyway?" She looked between Rin and Yuri and said, "Isn't it like, weird for you guys to hang out with us?"
Rin smiled and said, "I just wanted to check up on you, Meggie! Onee-chan was worried you might cause a problem, so she asked me to make sure you were fine!"
Meggie blinked. Onee-chan...? Oh, Alphy. Meggie rolled her eyes and said, "Of course Big Sis would worry about me..." She huffed. "She's been getting so nosy recently."
Yuri hummed. "That's true... it's a bit weird compared to just a few months ago. Everyone's kind of doing their own things these days. Especially with school and stuff."
Rin nodded. "I know! Like, Suzu-chan is student council president so she's busy. And Chi-chan is full gyrau now and hanging out with the delinquents... then there's us!"
Yuri started to nod in agreement. Then she paused and muttered, "Wait. Why are we the ones with free time? It kind of makes it sound like we've got nothing better to do..."
Meggie gave Yuri a blank stare and said, "Well, isn't that true?"
Yuri sighed.
At that point, Emma interjected. "Sorry to interrupt, Yuri-san. But um... are those girls walking over here?"
Meggie followed Emma's gaze and saw a small crowd of girls walking over.
All of them looked pretty and had their face done up with make-up. Dolled up and beautiful... that was their general vibe. And also, confident.
Meggie got excited and stood up. "Is this my chance?" She noticed a few of the girls were the same ones from earlier with Ares.
Yuri quickly grabbed Meggie's hand. "H-Hold on, Meggie. Let's not-"
Meggie brushed Yuri's hand off and casually walked over to the crowd of girls, her hands casually tucked in her sweatshirt pocket. As she did, she casually pulled out a piece of bubblegum and popped it in her mouth, blowing a bubble. Then she smiled and said, "Yo. Did you need something?"
One of the girls stepped forward. A haughty teenager with bright orange hair and green eyes with a 'Queen Bee' vibe. She eyed Meggie, giving her a once-over and then scoffed. "What a loser." She shifted her gaze to Emma and then to Rin and Yuri. Although her gaze trembled a bit when she saw Rin, the girl looked back to Meggie with a haughty gaze and said, "Hanging out with the music teacher's nerdy daughter and a bunch of high schoolers... don't you have any shame considering your position?"
Meggie scoffed right back at the girl and said, "I can hang out with whoever I want." She grinned and said, "I don't need to gang up with other weaklings like you because you're too afraid to confront someone alone."
The girl bristled and pointed a finger at Meggie. "A-At least I don't dye my hair to stand out! What are you, an otaku dyeing your hair green like that?!"
Meggie rolled her eyes. "In case you haven't realized." She smiled and ran a hand through her long emerald and golden hair. "This is all natural. I got this beautiful emerald hair from my mom and these pretty golden highlights from my dad." She laughed and said, "Jealous much?" She eyed the girl's orange hair and green eyes... which on closer inspection were contacts. "I don't need to play pretend like you."
Back at the table, Rin giggled and whispered to Yuri. "Meggie is definitely Mister John's daughter."
Yuri whispered back. "That's what I'm worried about! Didn't Mister John tear through the entire yakuza underworld?! What the heck is Meggie going to do?!"
The haughty girl subconsciously fiddled with her hair and then scoffed, trying to hold a poker face. "W-What are you talking about?"
Meggie made a show of checking her nails, then she blew a bubble with her gum. After a loud pop, she smiled and said, "Oh, I don't know. I've never had to bleach my hair and dye it orange like that, or wear contacts. By the way, if you wanna pretend, you gotta remember your eyebrows." Meggie tapped her eyebrows, which were a light green, just like her hair. Then she pointed at the girl's eyebrows, which were black, unlike her orange hair. "Details matter, idiot."
The girl turned a bright red and stepped forward. "You...!" She raised her hand, as if readying a slap.
Meggie rubbed her hand, as if winding up a slap of her own.
And then someone cleared their throat.
Meggie paused and then clicked her tongue. "I never get to have fun around here..."
Suzume walked over, dressed in a prim and proper uniform along with an armband marked 'Student Council' on her left arm. She looked at the crowd of girls in front of Meggie and said, "You are disturbing the peace and other students. Please return to your seats and continue eating... or leave the school grounds. In either case, you are dismissed... unless you wish to have a demerit on your record?"
Meggie sighed and then pulled out her bubble gum from her mouth.
Rin waved from the table and said, "Suzu-chan! Hi~!"
Yuri sighed and slumped back in her seat. "Thank god... I was worried we were about to see a murder..."
Meggie scoffed. "Hey, I'm not stupid. I was just going to throw her across the room a bit."
The orange-haired haughty girl turned to look back at Meggie, her eyes wide. "W-What?"
Meggie rolled her eyes and walked back in her seat.
Suzume gave a stern look at the crowd of girls until they started to disperse.
Before they left though, Meggie casually flicked her finger, sticking the bubblegum into the hair of the haughty girl. 'Have fun with that~.'
The orange-haired girl instinctively clapped her hand against the impact. Then her eyes widened as she realized what it was and how sticky it was. She immediately turned around to shout at Meggie.
But then she met Suzume's cold glare.
The orange-haired girl teared up a bit but then spun on her heel, covering her hair as she ran off.
Meggie rolled her eyes and then pulled out her phone. She thought for a bit and then started texting her dad.

Hey Dad. How do I properly do a faceslapping scene? You know, so that I can show everyone up properly and make them stop bothering me?

Meggie read the message once more and then hummed before attaching a picture of the dispersing crowd of girls. Then she sent another text.

Bunch of idiots today. Looks like they might cause me trouble, so I wanted some advice. You know how to handle this BS, right, Dad?

Back in the Smith Household. Aurora had just been tucked into bed for the day when John received a text. And after reading what Meggie sent, he started to sweat.
"...Yue is definitely going to chew me out for this..."
Like father like daughter, haha....
