Chapter 334: Silver Essence

Qin Ziwen shifted his gaze away from the bizarre "water within water" below, a plan forming in his mind.

The large Silver Bobbit Worms all lived deep within the mountain's belly, while the smaller Bobbit Worms, in contrast, lived on the surface layer of the mountain range.

It seemed the living environment here was more suitable for Bobbit Worms. Those Bobbit Worms on the periphery were probably the ones that had been driven out.

"What exactly is inside that?" Qin Ziwen looked toward the Fish-man Chieftain.

The Fish-man Chieftain's voice was somewhat muffled in the dark, rippling water. "A previous generation Chieftain once led people to this place. According to the Shedding Abyss Master who accompanied them at the time, it seems to be called 'Silver Marrow'."

"Silver Marrow?" Mogu repeated it. "That name sounds a bit familiar. It seems to be an extremely rare material, even more precious than Silver Blood."

Qin Ziwen was puzzled. "Since it's so rare, why didn't that Shedding Abyss Master come back for more after discovering it back then?"

Mogu said, "It's possible he died, or some other accident happened."

Qin Ziwen thought for a moment and felt this was indeed a possibility.

He looked up at the giant spider on the dome. The information fed back by his Insight earlier made his heart sink slightly.

The speed at which this thing could probably strike wouldn't be slow.

Whether it was its Hunting Instinct or its Nerve Propulsion ability, neither seemed like something a slow, heavy creature would possess.

If they wanted to go to the stone sphere to retrieve something, that position was right underneath it.

It had occupied the best spot.

"No need for such trouble." Mogu looked left and right, then took a step forward, signaling Qin Ziwen and the Fish-man Chieftain to step back.

"This can be used to retrieve it." The Fish-man Chieftain took out a conch shell from its waist, which could be used to scoop.

"Master, you can go ahead first. After I retrieve the item, we'll meet up at the initial landing point below." Mogu said.

"Wait." Qin Ziwen raised his hand. "I have a better method."

Not only could they obtain the item inside the stone sphere, but they even had a chance to kill two birds with one stone.

Mogu turned to look at his master.

Qin Ziwen spoke concisely. "I can set up a node."

Mogu instantly understood. "Master, you mean... lure them into the Home?"

"Correct. And there's a function I've never used before. I'm very curious, can these things still survive after being crushed under thousands of tons of buildings?" The corner of Qin Ziwen's mouth lifted slightly.

He was naturally referring to the Placement function he had obtained long ago. The Placement function allowed him to rearrange buildings within the Home.

His method was to rearrange the buildings. For example, the Blood Sand Gladiator Arena. When such a massive building came crashing down from the sky, he didn't believe these monsters could keep living.

Mogu pondered for a moment, feeling this method was feasible. "This method is workable. Although it cannot be reused in the short term, it is indeed a good tactic."

Qin Ziwen was well aware, of course. In fact, this method could only be used to deal with stationary targets like this.

Using it against a Home Master with higher authority would likely be very difficult. If the opponent initiated a "Challenge," many functions within the Home would be temporarily frozen, including the Placement function.

Preparations complete, the trio once again began stealthily approaching the core of the stone sphere.

Before long, they gradually drew near the large stone sphere.

As they approached, the jellyfish floating leisurely in the air suddenly paused their movements and shifted aside.

Above on the dome, the giant spider's legs trembled slightly, emitting faint friction sounds.

The only thing that remained unchanged was within the "water within water" at the bottom. Those Silver Bobbit Worms still swam within, seemingly unaffected.

Finally, they stepped onto the central stone sphere.

Five steps away, in a depression at the sphere's heart, a pool of pale golden slurry flowed quietly.

Why would Silver Marrow be golden?

Qin Ziwen suspected the information was wrong and activated Insight.

[Level 6 Rare Treasure] Silver Marrow (A natural essence formed within the brain of a deceased super-ancient progenitor creature. A precious ingredient and material.)

Alright, that makes sense...

Qin Ziwen hadn't expected the color and name of this thing to be so different.

The moment they set foot on the central stone sphere, the giant spider on the ceiling finally moved.

"Be careful!"

Mogu's low roar erupted simultaneously with his fist, punching upward!

"Boom—"

A terrifying pressure stirred up undercurrents. Qin Ziwen's feet sank, and he was almost knocked over.

The Fish-man Chieftain seized the chance to lunge forward, extending the conch shell toward the pool of golden liquid. The conch shell in its hand scooped into the small puddle at the center.

The next second, a sharp spider leg pierced through its shoulder like black lightning!

"Go!"

Qin Ziwen shouted. A node had already opened beside them. He grabbed the Fish-man Chieftain's leg, yanked it backward, and the two of them directly charged into the node.

Mogu's expression darkened. Although he had intercepted the giant spider's pounce, its body was huge and its legs were long. It had simply bypassed him to attack the Fish-man Chieftain.

Fortunately, it hadn't injured the master.

"Ha!"

Mogu delivered a whip kick to the spider's abdominal armor, sending it flying hard.

The giant spider crashed into the distant rock wall. Its eight pairs of spider eyes flickered with red light, glaring madly at Mogu.

Yet it didn't dare to approach recklessly again.

That punch just now had hurt it badly.

Its stomach still ached, as if something had jabbed deep inside.

Mogu took out a waterskin, gave the giant spider a cold glance, and reached for the puddle again.

The spider instantly grew frantic, vanishing from its spot in an instant.

It transformed into a black shadow, pouncing to kill!

In Mogu's perception, an extremely massive black outline was closing in on him.

Mogu sneered, used the momentum to roll, and accurately charged into the node.

The spider hesitated for a moment. When its eight pairs of eyes looked at the Silver Marrow in the puddle, now almost completely scooped clean, its red light blazed brightly. It flew into a towering rage.

Without the slightest hesitation, it pursued into the blue node passage.

Moving from the seabed onto land, without the omnipresent seawater, the spider only felt its body become weightless.

Unfamiliar, dry air enveloped its entire body. Before it could even adapt to the surroundings,

Darkness fell from above.

A gigantic shadow, carrying the force of ten thousand tons, plummeted down with a thunderous crash.

"!!!"

A deafening roar swallowed everything.

The spider vanished from the spot.

Qin Ziwen let out a long sigh of relief.

"It's over."

It seems even a Superhuman Four-Star spider can't withstand being crushed under thousands of tons, possibly even over ten thousand tons, of building.

One really shouldn't casually enter another person's Home. Before wanting to enter, one must first initiate a Challenge, preventing them from using Home abilities freely.

Otherwise, it's very dangerous.

Qin Ziwen narrowed his eyes, pondering this in his heart.

"Congratulations, Master, on obtaining the treasure." Mogu slightly bowed beside him, offering the waterskin.

The Fish-man Chieftain, panting, handed over the conch shell. The wound torn open on its shoulder was still oozing blood. "Qin, this is the item you wanted."

"You keep it." Qin Ziwen didn't take it. The information was provided by the Fish-man Chieftain, and it had also taken risks coming along. Besides, Mogu had already collected a portion.

"I cannot use it." The Fish-man Chieftain smiled bitterly, somewhat helpless. "This thing cannot be ingested directly. Back then, the previous generation Chieftain obtained a few drops and rashly consumed them, nearly losing his life. Probably only you people can process it. Leaving it with us is useless at best; we could only trade it with other Shedding Abysses. But we are already trading partners, aren't we?"
