Chapter 695: 524: Master of Humanity_4 |
"I have seen the Empress.” King Qingyang bowed deeply in respect.
He had set off for the Land of Longevity after Ji Huaxi’s ascension to the throne, and before his departure, Ji Huaxi had already been one of the strongest in the Imperial realm.
Back then, though King Qingyang was one stage lower in realm, he could sense the gap between them, and he also saw the possibility of catching up. However, after reaping considerable benefits in the Land of Longevity for two hundred years and upon his return, he found that the gap between himself and Ji Huaxi, both Realm Masters, had widened even further.
Unable to even perceive the opponent’s realm now, such a thing happening to Su Heng would be of no concern, as he was accustomed to it… but now, coupled with the somewhat mocking smiles on both Ji Huaxi’s and Su Heng’s faces, King Qingyang suddenly had an ominous feeling.
With caution, he inquired, “I am unaware of Your Majesty’s intentions. May you please clarify.”
Ji Huaxi did not say much, merely turning her body slightly to the side. Beneath the sleeves that fluttered in the wind was the radiant night glow of Central State Royal City. In the two hundred years, the city had expanded several times in size with towering buildings soaring from the ground, and the desolation from the post-war era was no longer in sight. Especially astonishing to King Qingyang was the number of Realm Lord Level experts he could sense within the city, amounting to no less than ten.
And those hidden in darkness, undetectable due to the vast power disparity, would likely be even more numerous.
King Qingyang’s eyes widened.
For a moment, he felt as if he had been left behind by an era.
After bidding farewell to King Qingyang.
Su Heng and Ji Huaxi returned to the Taihe Palace within the Imperial Palace.
Upon entering the grand hall, Su Heng walked straight to the dais at the front and seated himself authoritatively on the majestic Dragon Chair.
And Ji Huaxi, who was well accustomed to such affairs, stood respectfully by the side. Aside from her, there was another person in the hall. This person had emerald-green hair, ears long and pointed like an elf’s, and a very handsome face – it was the newly appointed Commander of the Descenders, Faye.
Ji Huaxi and Faye, each being the ruler of one of the eastern and western continents respectively.
They had now gathered here to report on their work.
After scrutinizing every little detail on the report, they both let out a sigh of relief as Su Heng gave a slight nod of approval in silence.
Once the report concluded, Faye appeared hesitant on his face, seemingly having more to say.
Seeing Su Heng’s inquiring gaze.
Faye took a step forward and solemnly said, “Over these years, apart from the unification of the northern and southern continents. In the Land of Longevity and across the Galaxy, some scattered colonies have also established contact with us, wishing to unify under your command. The Federation has long since fallen, but under your protection, the spark of human civilization remains.
Now we have enough weapons and plentiful supplies. Though we cannot anticipate every contingency, nor can we foresee every detail, I wonder if you are willing to lead us to reshape the universe.”
Having spoken these words, Faye took a deep breath, displayed an utmost respectful bow, pressed his forehead to the ground, and knelt down for an extended time.
Ji Huaxi also lifted her head, holding her breath, and looked into Su Heng’s eyes.
Su Heng rose from his throne, his footsteps passed by Faye and reached the entrance of the bronze hall. The sky was clear and broad, without a trace of a cloud, the stars twinkling like a radiant galaxy crossing the night sky. Su Heng felt his heart open wide, a surge of high-spiritedness stirring within him. He reached out to the sky as if trying to grasp the vast galaxy in his palm.
"Of course,” Su Heng’s voice followed, “this Galaxy has always been ours; to conquer the starry sky is our mission. A race, an empire, a single will. From today onwards… I am the sovereign of mankind!”
