The Rise of the Black Plain by RVN_1998

I like story quite a bit I just wish there was more of it I like details but too much detail can be a really bad thing when 3/4 of the book is details

the mc is basically a whore

Ive read until current (c390) and the best description of this novel is 75% boring filler and 25% story.
I will give some credit to the author in that they are really into the kingdom building aspect, but it goes into too much unnecessary detail. Describing every single building thats built, describing that buildings purpose and how they will run things. There are literally chapters describing how the garbage men do their jobs. Whenever the mc is in his kingdom i have to skim chapters and try not to fall asleep. Its kind of odd how the author portrays all the facilities in his kingdom as if the mc is someone from the future with revolutionary ideas, but the mc is not transmigrated or anything he's an average joe.

The MC is honestly nothing special besides his inheritance from the immortal. His cultivation is "fast" compared to normal people but honestly it feels so very slow to me. The romance is another one the weird things in this book. The mc is down to have ONS with random women and doesnt seem to care about them. Then there are a couple women who he gets close with and eventualy sleeps with but doesnt commit to anything. The author reminds us time and time again that people sleep around all the time and it doesnt mean anything, and its kinda off putting. The most recent girl hes with was someone who told him many times that shes not that type of girl and that she is someone who doesnt mess around. So then MC proceeds to slowly get in to her pants and here we are thinking maybe the MC will take this seriously but he still acts like a prick calling her his friend and not commiting to anything. The odd thing is she is totally fine with how things are which is different than how her character was described. The author said this aspect of the MC is part of his character growth so it might be something that changes in the future.

At the end of the day the novel is somewhat tolerable if you just bank 100+ chapters and are ok with just skimming the filler.

Not a bad job, sometimes it's boring, really.Also, the relationship will not go to everyone(I threw the current because of them) lots of lesbians, casual sex and other shit,it was disgusting for me.

the pacing is horrible

I read it till 250. I read it because i dont have anything better to do.. Everything our MC has comes from the lucky encounter he get at the start of his road. All beauties in the story are interested in our MC, because, you know, he is MC.. The only thing kept me interested in the story was kingdom building. But its not worth it.

I read a few chapters so here I am:
°When I started reading this I knew the plot armour was too strong; MC basically survived after getting hit by a rock and that's not it, it turns out that inside the rock was the sprit of an old man who gave him his spiritual kingdom where his wealth and techniques where stored and was in itself a paradise for cultivator's.
Not only that his talent was raised to gold (said to be highest) and even surpassing a bit, and his physique also mutated and can now grow to Divine rank. damn plot armour right!
°Now this guy's father is dead and he inherited a barren land that lacks in resources and spiritual energy (so it is kingdom development), now he can use his spiritual kingdom he received to recover this barren land and he does (I agree with him there).
°His mother loves him (it says), that's why when he was in coma for what ten years..?, She visited him 'few' times. Even when he inherited the land from his father she came to ask him to join her sect and she would give him a position of elder (I know it was already a massive help, right) but I don't agree, reason; she is his f#cking mother!. She was supposed to support him, be there for him but she acts like she pities him and gives him job offer!. *sigh*
°Now it doesn't really matter, novel won't get worse if one character is bad. But what if the Super blessed MC is the most stupid himself, yes, that's the reason I stopped reading this!
MC has inherited the old monster's wealth who once stood at the peak (so he would definitely have held best techniques). But our MC is so 'smart' that to develop his barren land he uses top rank (black rank was it...,) to recruit children. Of course this doesn't seem stupid move right, but what if the only people know to possess the black rank techniques are royals, then....!
Yes, just a single spy is all it would take for the kingdom to annex MC'S all resources and put an end to his barren kingdom.
But the plot armour is so strong that no one bothers to even notice it.
He even f#cking gives cultivation technique that Nobel's use to common guards. Yes, this was my reason for leaving this thing named novel.
I mean I understand you want to develop kingdom, but do you even have something called brain to use (I mean his strongest ally is his butler lvl 40 or something, or even his mother lvl 60 or 70 don't remember), but so what that's the only thing he has but the Royal family will definitely have monster's in it's family, ahhh, who can save him.....I am leaving.

Ok…I’m just going to start by saying that I did read a few chapters and to be honest they weren't bad.
I did enjoy them and the interactions were not the best they were like someone already commented, a little one dimensional but I still had hope for this novel. But I came to a point where the interactions the main character has with the people around him actually started to bother me especially his mother. don't get me wrong his mother doesn't bother me what bothers me is his mentality.
I can understand that you don't like your mother because she wasn't there or didn't take care of your family like it's supposed to be but where does that hatred come from?
it's not like she mistreated you, abused you or acted like most parents in most novels.
there were some parents in novels out there that were horrible human beings I mean disgusting.
but the main character wasn't like this. I don’t know if the writer of this novel has ever gone through a divorce or his parents have gone through a divorce but the situation the main character was living through was exactly like a divorce relationship you have one parent taking care of the child and the other, mostly the father. in this case the mother but there is always one parent missing.
does that mean that you have to hate your parents? there are situations that a little boy a child may not understand I can get it and that misunderstanding can lead to hatred but this main character had a heritage of at least a few thousand years and he said so himself he was a mature mind inside the body of a kid so I expect better.
this type of errors where the writer you just throw in trouble like This I dislike. I see the trouble train coming and it's like OK whatever I’m done. I mean you lived for thousands of years cant have the patience to try to have an understanding of the behavior of your own mother I mean if you’ve lived for thousands of years can’t you not try to give her a chance to explain herself a chance to speak.
And even when she came to see you. in her mind you were at the bottom of the well for her you hit rock bottom she came trying to save you try to give you a helping hand try to bring you to a better place but the first thing you thought about was she’s trying to corner me and trying to take away my freedom. How am I going to use my cheat how am I going to use my heritage she's hindering me when she didn’t even know you had a heritage. when you were sick lying unconscious she was the one doing everything in her power to try to wake you up cure you and your Butler told you that too.
My point is There is no valid reason for a grown *** man to hate his own mother to this extent.

Okay... The storyline is really boring, and the character interactions are very one-dimensional.

By the description even tho I haven't even started reading but the plot armour skill is already on lmao
