Growing up with eccentric materialist parents, who left him in the care of his grandfather for a job overseas, Zhang Heng had learned to adapt and be unfettered by the oddities and challenges in life. But he would soon learn the baffling truth about the world he thought he knew, when one day at midnight, time froze and he found himself in a world so quiet and still it was deafening.

That night, he discovered that he had 24 hours more than everybody else and thus, marked the beginning of his adventures. The mysteries surrounding his newfound ability only deepened when a strange old man claimed to have given Zhang Heng that ‘gift of time’ and recruited the young man to participate in a cryptic ‘life-changing’ game on his behalf. Little did Zhang Heng know that accepting those terms meant embroiling himself in many versions of reality and exposing himself to the hidden secrets of the world a decision he could never undo. You know what grinds my gears about the manhwa adaptation? It's not just about chronos that become a douchebag old man that reveal his identity from the get go, it's not about evil wall become a mindless pet of chronos. It's about zhang heng becoming a faggot for his dorm mate and him becoming a goof ball that can't hold back to crack a joke every five minutes.

for those looking for opinions about the controversial longest pirate of the Caribbean arc

now i have an objective view of why this arc was so controversial for many,to those that actually read it and dive in without any prior knowledge of the hate.

they would love it for how well written the characters even to the minor role was, they would also hate it for the sole reason that this arc was over-detailed in some section of events and the pacing was preventing the reader from a brief respite to replenish their attention span from dwindling, which results in boredom and an increase of their expectations to what was the next new things in the arc or just wanted this to get over with to go to the next arc.

to me the arc taken a dive plunge in plot progression after he won from the navy and takes back the gold.

The translation is messy for the new chapters but it is good enough for me (idk bout others) the ending was unexpected but was ok, the story is fantastic and connect together and there aren't many plot holes so all in all go for it except for pirate arc which was long af 12
And also who the f#ck is girl the MC went on date with at end? I don't remember 23

This is TOP TIER. There were a couple of slow points, but overall, definitely one of the best out there. It uses the same approach Supreme Magus does to keep things fresh, basically, each arc is somewhat contained and has its own mystery to unravel.

That's why as the character progresses, it's not the same enemies, not the same settings, not the same plot. He keeps his progress as well each time the story enters a new arc and this is how the story keeps fresh while also maintaining a sense of power progression.

This is also one of the few stories that uses time extension (as opposed to time stop and time loop) as a plot device so that's also a plus.

The overarching plot is no slouch either, it's one that unravels slowly and pretty much integrates perfectly to everything that happens to the story.

I highly recommend reading this one, it's complete too.

Actually one of my best reads. Except for the Pirate Arc it's consistently entertaining. I remember dropping it when he finally goes to Greenland to investigate his origins, the MTL was too much.

That means the novel is finished, while the translation is still ongoing. But as of now the translation is finished, and so is the novel.
