It's has been a good novel so far. I was hesitant at first as there is no established cultivaion path , thought it may be a slice of life but it's well written with lots of character development for not just the mc but rest of the supporting characters.

As of chapter 6 (yes, I just started, but I'll edit this later) it is mostly good, but I also feel very very strongly that this is AI-assisted — prompted for certain pieces or flow, then edited.

As of chapter 13, I am now 99.9% sure this is at least AI-assisted, if not outright written by AI then edited to fix mistakes here and there. It wouldn't be a problem to me if it were more polished, but alas, there are some issues, and some plotholes.
The story remains enjoyable for its premise, but it is technically not of good quality.
(I recommend trying it, but turn off a few brain cells and expect to feel a bit weird about it if you know what AI text looks like.)

Just finished chapter 15, and I'm dropping it. I no longer recommend trying it out.

It's early on, but this is a fairly unique idea for a cultivation story, albeit one that's executed in a fairly shaky manner. For instance, the MC must have 'realized' that his brother isn't actually an idiot maybe... 5 or 6 times at this point. Like, every three chapters he has the same revelation. I don't know if it's from AI use, poor editing, or just a new author, but that kind of mistake is indicative of what makes the story an okay read for me - as opposed to a good or great one.

On paper, this story has a lot going for it. The premise (pre-sect development with the MC essentially creating the foundation for a Cultivation system) is quite interesting and carried my enjoyment for a bit. The protagonist struggles to construct the world he wants from scratch, and the worldbuilding of a very bleak feudal system unfurls more and more interesting details as the story goes on. However, there are some pretty huge problems. The prose is very robotic: I can’t necessarily prove it’s AI, but I ‘ve read multiple very different stories with suspiciously similar, stilted prose and the he same type of “this isn’t this, but this” style sentences, and a lot of those were were revealed to be AI Assisted. Narration is very dry and clinical (which I initially forgave as a reflection of the mc’s view of the world), but despite how we are told certain characters think and act, everyone’s character voice ends up sounding almost the exact same, with no variations of personality within their dialogue. When you end up realizing this, coupled with the fact the narration builds up conflicts but then resolves them with little friction or build up, the story becomes very uninteresting to read. Didn’t find any major issues with Grammar though, so there’s that at least.

The story is okay. It's writing style is increasingly common on this website and unfortunately it's one I find to be grating.

The main character faces little opposition in pretty much anything he does. Wether that be assuming control of the town or bossing people around. The author just tells you what happens without describing it in a way that would make it believable.

the dialogue between characters is honestly pretty bad if one stops to think about it. I don't hate the story I just find it disappointing so I'd give it a three out of five except in order to not have this review deleted I'll give it a four out of five.

Example: every conversation with his mother makes it *very* clear, but even others have smaller issues.
