To survive as an alien tyrant's husband, he'll need to grab his new life by the horns.

A late shift watching an empty cell in a middle-of-nowhere facility? Sign Grant up. If the money's good, he'll gladly take the peace and quiet of a long, boring night.

And then he meets the prisoner: Subject B-31. Blue, beautiful, and inhuman.

He's told to think of her as a test subject, not a person. He's told to ignore the sorrow on her face and the desperation in her crimson eyes. Maybe he should have listened. Because his rescue attempt quickly turns into an alien abduction.

B-31 is Sykora, a princess of the tyrannical Taiikari Empire, who whisks Grant into a galaxy filled with alien cultures, deadly rivals, and the sinister smiles of the Taiikari royal court. Grant will have to learn a new life, and learn it fast.

Because when the Princess of the Void looks at Grant, she doesn't just see a savior—she sees a husband.

And she isn't asking.

Author's note for [Book 1: Chapter 23 Lonesome] on Royal Road--

This chapter has been censored to ensure the story remains consistent with Royalroad's content policy, and to cater to readers who would prefer a clean(er) version.

Areas where text has been removed are marked with a –content omitted– notice. Key dialogue and development has been included where possible, but some is inevitably missing from the censored version of the chapter.

For the uncensored version, which depicts explicit sex between two enthusiastically consenting adults, you can visit my Patreon, where it's been made public and released free of charge. No account or membership is required. Forgive the different chapter number; the patreon's subdivisions are different, since many chapters are early drafts which are later split or recombined.

Read the uncensored version here (18+ only). [Real link available here--https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/120617/princess-of-the-void-an-alien-abduction-romance/chapter/2397156/123-lonesome]

If you're comfortable with explicit content, I encourage you to read the version beyond the link. It's the way the story was intended to be experienced. If not, the below version will give you the gist.

The whole story is available for free on Royal Road. You can support the author by reading on Royal Road if you want, because the extra content (spicy scenes and side stories) is always linked there by him completely for free.

      Hope this answers your question.

At the time of writing this review, this book has well over 7000 followers and 1.9 million viewers with a 5-star rating on Royal Road.

If you are looking for an instant gratification wish-fulfilment fantasy slop, I'd advise you turn away. The protagonist is not OP, nor is he an edgelord. I won't spoil much regarding the FMC, but just know that she might be my favourite FMC so far. The romance is slow-burn, the characters have multiple layers to their personalities, which the author slowly unveils as the story progresses, and when the romance eventually kicks off, it is all the more satisfying.

Our protagonist is thrust into a foreign world that is completely outside of his wildest imagination, but thankfully, though he was relatively ordinary on Earth, he quickly realises he has his own unique advantages that he makes clever use of to carve out a place for himself in the alien Empire. The FL also faces her own share of setbacks, which she has to overcome to achieve her own objectives, which I am not going to reveal because spoilers.

By volume 4 the MC and FMC are completely unrecognisable from their volume 1 selves, and looking back every piece of character development they've had was well earned and you can't help but root for them.

For those who are concerned about the more questionable tags, I'd say not to worry. The author tackles a lot of heavy topics in his work and knows how to treat them with the gravity and seriousness they deserve. The character relationships are delightfully wholesome and is balanced well with the darker themes that are explored in the story.

Grant is kind, witty and has balls of steel. Sykora is badass, charismatic and
af. Their relationship dynamic is the main highlight of this novel, where almost everything else is also top-notch quality.

I could gush about the story, the worldbuilding, the side characters, the plot, the setting for hours on end, that's how much I like this novel.

If you do decide to give this novel a try, I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you read at least the first 11 chapters before you make your judgment.

I am actually trying my best not to give away too much about
        , as
is not obvious at a glance, and once it was revealed, I was hooked.

Do let me know how you feel about the story after chapter

Well I don't think I need to get to book 1 chap
          at chap
I was pretty horrified, especially because once she said

I then completely understood her remorselessness, it made sense, lol the last time I remember
being used seems to be in that old vampire movie series with Moroi, Dhampir and Strigoi, it's a delightfully powerful ability. Yet it's also a really good plot tool to call into question intent and action and what truly matters. It's like
          in Avatar: Legend of Korra.

It makes sense that she'd be unmoved by his pleas, because in her cognition he was much he same. Which makes the reveal in chap
          all the more damning.

          I'm having fun reading this.
I don't know how it's gonna go tho.

          It's hot, but r n, book 1 chapter 9 so sad.
          She's soooo
. It's crazy how Earth itself may never realise just how close a call this is. 😭

Also if I were Grant, I'd low-key feel so f#cking arrogant right now cuz
          .

          That's so hot

It's actually crazy to me how you actually already figured it out by
. My dumbass was completely clueless about what the hell was going on or why the hell
. I almost dropped the novel until
            .

By the way, the reason I kept mentioning
            .

As for the matter of his
, all I'll say is that the MC has a very "would rather break than bend" mentality when it comes to certain topics.

, which the author does a good job of foreshadowing beforehand.

            About the
thing, the reason I was so hooked to the story when I first read about it was that
. I wanted to know how the author would
, given the setting of the story. It was all really fascinating to me.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did joy

              So I tried it guys.

              Surprisingly peak.

              Incredibly good.

My only slight complaint was that the pacing is kinda quick.

              It's sorta western pacing almost.

I don't hate it.... I'm just desensitized by chapters in the thousands in eastern flicks

Genuinely it makes sense, but I don't see it going on much longer, for more than a year and that's extremely generous.

This book probably won't exceed 500 chaps.
