Marin found himself in the body of a young wandering knight who was driven out of the house. Forced into the 15th Century, he was armed with only a horse, a breastplate, and a lance.

He was soon caught up in the era of German mercenaries established by Maximilian I. And so he decided to become a mercenary. Relying on his half-baked internet knowledge, he will establish his own mercenary force. Waging war with French knights and Swiss armies, even Emperors and Kings must beg of him. Collapse

How is it my fellow daoist brother? As a scout, did you encounter any demons along the way. Was the pathway safe to travel? I’m afraid, if I go along now I would have to fight against many heart devils.

And oh by the way, can you suggest other novels to read. I’m really out of options currently and I really like about your novel suggestion in the comment above since it really fits to my taste. All the reviews are praising that novel a lot. I’m super excited on reading it.

        - Reverend Insanity - 10/10 imo. This is the perfect xianxia to me. No harems, actually smart MC. Pure blood thumping action.
        - Paragon of Sin - 7-8/10 (basically OP Gary Sue - but u might enjoy it if u turn ur brain off)
        - Mother of Learning - time loop/academy/magic. Banger 10/10
        - The Legendary Mechanic - I dont like VRMMORPG stories but this one is not all what it seems. 10/10
        - Dimensional Descent - 7/10. Its fine, somewhat rocky start. Picks up then craters, picks up again, its fun for a time.

        Some Traditional Fantasy/Fiction:
        - The Lies of Locke Lamora - First books like Oceans in medieval times. Its like a heist and shit goes down. In the process of reading it, but first books like a 9/10.
        - Jade City Trilogy - Asian themed mafia except instead of drug kingpins its clans that control magic stones that give you powers. A bit light on fantasy elements but man is it good. 10/10
        - The Three Body Problem - Science fiction about first contact. Deals with themes of cosmic horror and misanthropy. 9/10

I cant think of many other webnovels right now, might update later.

if its any consolation, theres hardly any emphasis on romance - if any. His "harem" is only two people and he only marries his second wife out of political considerations (somewhat spoiler).

Its much more to do with politics and giant battles. I understand being put off by the harem tag, I dont particularly enjoy novels with the tag too. But Mediterranean hegemon is actually good.

Mediterranean Hegemon is one of the best novel written by Chinese author who actually took his time to learn. This one is just piece of garbage compare to it. I try to turn off my brain to read it because there's no other to read but I still can't do it
