Fate had never been kind to Ji Ning. Wracked by illnesses and infirm his entire life on Earth, Ji Ning knew early on that he would die as a teenager. What he didn’t know was that there really was such a thing as life after death and that the multiverse was a far larger place than he thought.

A lucky twist of fate meant that Ji Ning was reborn into a world of Immortals and monsters, of Ki Refiners and powerful Fiendgods, a world where Dynasties lasted for millions of years. A world which is both greater… and yet also smaller… than he ever could imagine. He would have the opportunity to join them, and in this life, Ji Ning swore to himself, he would never let himself be weak again! The Era he was born into was a Desolate one, but Ji Ning would make it his era. Collapse

I have read till Book 15 Chapter 19.

    World Background.................5/5
    Story development.................4/5
    Character development.........3.5/5
    Writing quality............... 3.5/5

I liked the world background of this novel the most but it was slowly ruined later. I don't know whether author had improve the following mistakes that I mention below in later books but I had reached the limit & wasn't able to continue on reading. So I hope people who have read till end or futher can inform me whether story has improve or not (especially MC character) .

    1) There's that annoying writing where repeatedly words are used multiple times like Kill Kill Kill Or Die Die Die & etc which makes me think that most of character are on steroids.

    2) Author is really assuming that readers are idiots due to some of dumbest plot I have read in this novel. Example

    3) At first I was happy to read that in this novel author doesn't had made MC loose his emotions & humanity even after
but later in book there's no improvement in his character development. He still makes rookie mistakes & doesn't even stop & think for plan before executing. And even if he think of plan it's gonna be straightforward or dumbest plan ever. Some will argue that he is young so his mistakes are okay but I will say that's just bullshit cause in cultivation if person is not level headed he will suffer & MC is not one of them, he's hot blooded & too much of emotional. I am not asking MC to loose his emotions & be like cold blooded killing machine or be like Fang yuan from Reverend Insanity but he should at least have personality matching his name i.e 'ning' means 'calm', but he's not calm at all.

    4) Author had also written some forced plots which really gets annoying like

If the novel is so bad you can't even stand reading it further, how the f#ck is the lowest score a 3.5? Are you aware of what that means? It means the novel is above average — meaning, good-ish. Not average, better. And even an average novel wouldn't make one drop it in frustration.

Having finished this novel I can say that if you are looking for a solid cultivation based story then this is a very good one to start off with, especially if you are new to reading cultivation themed novels.

I very much enjoyed the progression of the story and enjoyed a lot of themes that the author put in even if they were just in passing as it made the story much more rich. However I do have criticisms about this especially with it being the author's 7th full length novel that should have been implemented in a better fashion; namely being the PLOT ARMOR spoilers ahead pertaining toward the end of the novel.

So what you're saying is the novel doesn't deserve the high rating you gave it?

Rating literally means nothing since it is a subjective view from one person, don't go swinging for the crowd to protect the author when they don't even know you, but yes that is what I mean. Just because something can be rated highly does not mean its faults or short coming should be overlooked, especially for a seasoned author like this. I can give something a 5/5 for any category but it can easily be chopped down further by how an author finishes their novel and somehow, as a veteran author, this still lands very unsteadily on its feet at the end along with its final book or two of stumbling.

Man I don't know, people saying this is good but read up to book 5 but it really bland.
MC had a Lot of unreasonable bad decision followed by sudden nonsense plot armor. It's a bit annoying to read.

This one is good but bland, overly detailed explanation, and overly described. Not to the point of info dump, it still important information but get overly described.
You can even abridged first Book chapter to just 10 good chapter without missing single point.
