In the Canglan Continent, there existed a rule: only those who managed to awaken a Martial Spirit were able to pursue the path of cultivation, and a Martial Spirit’s rank was determined when it was awakened. Born in Linshui City, Qin Nan was a peerless genius who possessed great talents and was highly anticipated to become a great cultivator in the future. However, things changed when he ended up awakening the lowest-grade Martial Spirit, resulting in him being considered tr*sh.

Fortunately, when Qin Nan was struck by a ray of lightning at a young age, he coincidentally obtained the atavistic Divine Battle Spirit, which was capable of ranking up, breaking the ultimate rule of the Canglan Continent. Little did he know that his Martial Spirit possessed a great secret, which would continue to be unveiled as he learns more about the story of the Divine Battle Spirit.

What is the secret behind the Divine Battle Spirit? What is the curse of the Canglan Continent? Who exactly is the Divine God of Battle?

Join Qin Nan and his companions along their journey, battling against various opponents, outsmarting their enemies, and seeking the answers to unveil mysteries!

«Master, please bring me along on your journey battling against the Nine Heavens, will you?» Collapse

Worth the read I would say. I dropped it because of lack of update. But it was quite fun and infuriating because the MC is always weaker than his enemy

I read up to chapter 500, but I can't read any further. mc is very dumb and overconfident.

Well. This is my favorite cultivation book that I’ve read thus far. Some don’t like it, others like me think it’s awesome. Ultimately, it’s your decision to read this book. I simply suggest you give it a chance. MC suffers a few setbacks that oftentimes infuriated me, but that was simply because I became super attached to the characters. I think PBS is awesome, you should definitely give it a shot. (A shot means you have read to the point where you are introduced to Miaomiao.)

Read Desolate Era. Now THAT'S how you write a cultivation novel.

I enjoyed the first ark immensily (spoilers from here onward: The first arc being start to where he left the universe created by Pangu. I liked Houyi’s character even tho he was kinda minor. (His story was sad). About a 100 chapters into the 2nd major arc I took a long break cause I was binge reading and bc MC basically left everything behind I could come back to it later without needing to reread everything.
But yes, in conclusion, it was very much worth the time I spent reading it and I intend to finish it when I’m caught up on the other books I’m reading.

Nice. My favourite aspect of it is that it's actually realistic. When our genius mc joins a sect, they appreciate and protect him because he's a genius. There's none of that bullshit where the elders wanna kill him because their waste of a grandson doesn't like him. And he joins the strongest sect so people don't mess with him, none of that "joins strongest sect only to find out it's a backwater shithole and leave".

"mc is somewhere --> Arrogant young master/mistress sees him --> Decides to kill/cripple him for no f#cking reason --> gets killed/crippled --> calls big brother/boss/elder --> Decides to kill/cripple mc --> mc runs away till he gets more powerful --> mc comes back and wipes out the whole family --> mc leaves -->repeat." This is this novel. not even in a nutshell. It's literally the whole plot. With basically no deviation.

I liked it too, but once you read several novels with the same plot, slightly different main characters with slightly different abilities, each with several thousand chapters, it gets pretty boring.

Exactly the reason why I stepped away from cultivation novels for a long while after I read this. Im glad I’m not the only one who got so burnt out of the same storyline. But also like many others, I inevitably return lol.

The dao of the novel is endless and profound, but even though the journey is painful, and we may have to stop sometimes, we will always come back.
