That day, the breath of the Great Whale blew away the mist, and a new era began.

Chen Qi accidentally transmigrated into the steampunk-apocalypse game world New Sun. At the start, he possessed a monstrous talent—Deep Sea Affinity. Beneath the waves, the ancient deep-sea monsters saw him as one of their own.

Even though he had this monstrous gift, as a transmigrator, he held on to his human heart. He worked hard to level up, determined to become a monster hunter famous across the land.

Finally, thanks to his tireless efforts, the most popular outlet of the time, the White Dove Times, gave a sharp commentary:

“A bastard born of ancient, evil deep-sea blood, threatening witches with his tentacles, the Fifth Emperor who walks alone, a madman plotting to conquer the Witch Sea!”

Fake news. Absolutely bullshit fake news!

Yes, he did have tentacles, threatened witches, raised sea dragons, charged tolls, and once sang a death duet with a siren.

But he definitely wasn’t some descendant of an elder god—he was a dedicated, responsible monster hunter.

With one slash, Chen Qi cut down the fleet in front of him and seriously debunked the rumor. Collapse

This was not a masterpiece in any way but sometimes u love things even with flaws and this novel was like that for me
I liked the characters, the progression of story and relations and everything in general
The story could have had like 2 more arcs but ending the story here was good aswell
This would be one of my favourite novels even if not one of the best
Rating 10/10 for me (i don't think anyone is gonna agree with me)

La escalada de poder esta controlada, la construccion de mundo cumple y las estrategias imposibles del protagonista tipico estan bien medidos.

I read MTL to the end and this is worth reading. Yeah, sometimes it feels too simple, and closer to the end quite easy to predict. And the end was clearly sped up a lot, and very blatantly I have to say because there could have been from 20% to 25% more chapters, but other then that it's good. Other mistakes exists too, but they don't feel that bad, I feel that author just not that experienced. Anyway, I am myself personally recommend for reading that piece of online-paper :)

Daoist Inkdrunk's Review Scroll of “Witch, I Swear I’m Not a Deep Sea Ancient God!”

A delightful blend of One Piece wanderlust and Lord of Mysteries atmosphere, shaken well and served cold.
The MC is NOT some omniscient know-it-all sage floating above mortals.
He’s just a gamer who played the beta, prowled through forums, absorbed strategies like a starving beast.
Of course he knows things. That’s not plot armor.
That’s called having a life before transmigrating, people.

    And the treasures he gets?
Not divine intervention. Not hack codes.
Just a treasure map found inside a rift...
the equivalent of reading directions instead of head-butting the forest.

If you complain about an arc you clearly skim-read between bathroom breaks, that’s on you.
The story literally tells you from the start that the conflict can be resolved peacefully.
Some folks need to stop reviewing novels with their eyes closed.

New readers: Trust your own judgement.
Don’t let half-baked takes scare you off a genuinely entertaining read.

Progression starts slow (like watching a sleeping leviathan twitch),
    but once it wakes up…
    it gets very, very good.
    Patience will be rewarded.

    Objectively?
A solid 3.6/5 if you treat it like a casual, comfy read.
The author himself mentions the weaknesses in the closing notes, so expectations should be set accordingly.

But if you want recommendations branching from this vibe, this Daoist raises his wine cup:

    "Millennium Witch"
A legend among legends. Worth every drop of spiritual energy.

    "Who Made Her an NPC"
Similar to Legendary Mechanic, but smoother, livelier, and frankly more enjoyable.

    "Homebody Witch"
    Slice-of-life witchery at its peak.
    Cozy, charming, dangerously addicting.

These works are the fermented essence of the witch-genre..
    drink deeply.

There's fanmtl, WTR lab, Novelhall, *pip*. (Raw sites and websites)

But I would recommend reading from people who translates them. Fenrir realm is one such website. And that would be the get go place.
