The wonders of fanfic are deep. You haven't read good ones. It's a given most are wish-fulfillment. But since the author doesnt have to do the world building too much they can craft some good story many times

Your funny bro. Now I remember your the guy who farms dislikes aren't you?

Just because some Hitler read fanfiction and did shit doesn't mean all the people who read fanfiction are shit. A gross simplification

A brilliant book - 4,5/5. A stupid ending that might piss you off - 3/5. Still, it's worth reading. Just be prepared for the second half of the book to become darker and more serious, and the atmosphere to become increasingly oppressive.

I wouldn't say you need to read the original, but many of the jokes, imagery, locations, characters, etc. definitely require you to at least watch the films.

One of the book's key features is that the author attempts to correct many of the logical holes in Rowling's original story, simultaneously ridiculing them and offering interesting solutions. He also manages to build a superb new structure on someone else's foundation. Many characters are reimagined and given depth, and the dialogue between them is delightful.

The author also repeatedly tries to be original and reinvent the wheel, and half the time, it feels fresh even after all these years. At the beginning, the author succeeds in making the story better by this approach. By the end, he fails spectacularly, forcing unconventional plot twists where they don't belong.

So it’s like watching someone run a marathon just to give up and go home when he sees the finish line?

Imagine you've come to watch a running competition. But near the end, the athletes suddenly stop running and start fighting, kissing, dancing—utter chaos. And while everyone's in shock, one athlete quietly breaks away from the crowd and sneaks to the finish line, thereby winning first place. Then follows a long awards ceremony and explanations of what all these athletes will do next in life. And the winner cries a lot. The end.

It's like improving an already existing structure and modifying the deficiencies. Mostly don't due to love for the series and the authors frustration for a few of the plot holes and plot progression of the original work

Сомневаюсь, что школьники могут действительно понять или оценить некоторые важные темы книги. Например, противостояние двух подходов к воспитанию ребенка. Но читать точно стоит.

I read about 20 chapters back then, felt a mental shock from the rationality, was horrified, and stopped reading. I'm still a bit afraid of that book...

To enjoy reading, you need to remember (maybe even love) the original story and be the kind of person who typically strives for rationality and criticizes other stories for plot holes and stupidity. If one of these is missing and reading is difficult, then don't force yourself.

While I like the scientific jargon and arguments, along with the sometimes gallows humor, the version of HP in this book is just downright neurotic. I just lost interest after the little game.

Goddamn I remember reading this when I was 16.

This one's old af, but I'm glad it's archived here. I don't typically enjoy fanfiction, but this one was one of the few exceptions.
