A gloomy mist shrouds the land.

Amid the ruins of the city, traces of humanity’s past have yet to fade from this forsaken ground.

The glory is gone, and now humans are hiding like rats beneath the flicker of flames. The black sun hanging high above is a symbol that this place has changed hands—this is their paradise.

Beneath the surging depths of the sea, something is rising. In the void, heavy whispers echo, while strange, veiled silhouettes observe in silence.

A glimpse of malevolent compound eyes flashes from beneath the bed, while an evil presence lingers in the otherworld. Tempting whispers surround the ears, as terrifying entities wander through the ruins.

Evil thrives and grows, while humanity’s spirit dims and loses its light.

Lu Li holds salvation tightly and walks toward them with unwavering steps. Collapse

I read over 800 chapters; after that, I started just scrolling quickly through the rest, so my analysis is based both on what I read thoroughly and what I just skimmed through.

At the beginning, the novel does a great job with world-building and setting the atmosphere. The depiction of a ruined world is well done, as are the relationships between the characters. However, everything starts to fall apart once several ancient gods are introduced. The universe is clearly inspired by Lovecraft, with that theme of overwhelmingly powerful and incomprehensible entities that drive people insane just by being perceived.

That’s where the problems begin: with so many gods and cosmic beings, the plot starts to lose its direction. The protagonist often survives purely due to plot convenience, which becomes more and more obvious. Even so, it was still somewhat tolerable — until the point where the protagonist

In the end, the story is completely insane and gets more chaotic with each chapter. The ending is the most absurd part of all. I wouldn’t recommend reading it, as the plot totally goes off the rails — but it’s decent for passing time, especially since the beginning is actually good.

How is it remotely similar to the prologue of the watchmen of "Lord of Mysteries", only a different system of power, the existence of the paranormal is not a secret, the humorous style of narration and the main character does not join the night watchmen, at least in the first chapters.

It may be similar to another work, but it only resembles in that supernatural events are regulated by official organizations, but it is not a copy of LOTM, because this is a normal set of circumstances in such a world. Therefore, to say that it only differs in the system of power is absolutely wrong, because it is fundamentally different in LITERALLY EVERYTHING, starting from the main character and ending with the entire plot. Even at the beginning, everything is different, since from the very beginning Klein was involved in a huge conspiracy and from the beginning to the end of the story there was one clear line of becoming the Lord of Secrets. While Lu Li was just an ordinary man who encountered a supernatural event and tries to survive in this new world. There is no huge conspiracy that engulfs him from the beginning of the story. It only appears later. Also, in the world of LOTM, official powers are supported by Gods and everyone can become an Otherworldly, they have faith and hope for the future. While in the world of this work, all official organizations are created by people who always remain ordinary mortals, they have never had and will never have the opportunity to become God or even get the hope of not dying tomorrow. I will not say anything about the difference in the plot, it is obvious that it will be difficult to even find similarities here. Also about the humorous narration, it's just some kind of joke, how can you write something like that if the narration is not even close to that. It's like writing that the genre of the book is comedy, because of the presence of a joke in this work. The narration corresponds to the genres provided on this site, mysticism, fantasy and horror. Your comment is a bad review

        1) Me: The prologue and chapter 31 of this work are similar. You: THE ENTIRE Work (not the prologue) is not similar to chapter 31 of this one. In this work he is a detective exorcist, in the other it is the same, here it is an organization of night hunters, there it is an organization of night hunters, the type of activity is the same, etc., etc. 2) I wrote that the work is REMOTELY SIMILAR, you are writing about some kind of copy. 3) For you: Humor (from Latin humor - moisture[1]) is the intellectual ability to notice comical, funny sides of phenomena, mockery. There were plenty of comical situations in chapter 31: hiding from the assistant's mistress or communicating with spirits during an exorcism, etc., etc.

MTL? I gave in to this temptation, but I didn't find MTL, so I went further and found the original in Chinese, but to read the sequel, I had to spend my money and sponsor the author. I was ready to do this, but to register I needed a Chinese phone number. So I bought a private virtual number, which did not work and I did not get my money back for buying this number. So I gave up trying to support the author with minted coin and went looking for pirated Chinese sites, in the end I found it and, enduring stupid Chinese advertising with pornography, I finished reading the work using Google's autotranslate. And I do not regret it, no matter how terrible the translation is, I will always believe that an excellent and great work will not be spoiled by such nonsense, because if I feel emotions of satisfaction from this story, it makes sense. The same with good music, poor performance will not spoil the music. A good movie will not be spoiled by bad graphics or spoilers. Even life, no matter how terrible it is, will not be so if you enjoy it
