The Path of Immortality: Starts With Creating Water Bear Gu长生：从自创酒蛊开始

I gave this story a chance and even read some of the mlt but this isn't a great novel.

The premise is about gu cultivation, which is interesting, but instead, you end up with a story that feels like a mashup of all the generic quick junk food translated novels on webnovel. By chapter 82, which is where I dropped it, the story feels like any other random system novel or pick-up story. The only difference is that he bullcraps his way into making his op techniques that are still very generic.

He has:
- a very rare but powerful physique that causes him to be unrivalled in the same cultivation realm.
- Clone technique that lets him sit back while they work for him both cultivation wise + physically.
- lifespan-burning nonsense moves that work for him since he can cultivate more lifespan
He has- a middling spirit root talent that isn't a problem at all since he can use multiple elements.

There are others that got on my nerves but I feel like those are the most relevant. Honestly, it feels like the author had a good idea and premise at first and then derailed into the mess the story ended up becoming. I enjoyed him creating the cockroach gu, the idea about using the interactions with his 5 elements to mutate his spirit energy is also a good idea. These good ideas, though, get drowned out by generic tropes, influences from other stories (reverent insanity and immortality in the magic world are ones I remember) and poor writing.

Either way, if you enjoy generic tropes with a thin 1cm streak of creativity, then you'll enjoy this novel.

Extremely mid. I really like creation/brainstorming stories but this reads like a slice of life novel. No excitement whatsoever
