Personally Ive liked it from the start, all the way to where i am now at chapter 330ish. It had some lower points but they were over quickly and the story always moved on in a satisfactory manner.

A solid 4.5 in my opinion. It’s a good read, but i get that it won’t be for everyone.

Like many Japanese novels, it starts out promising but gets worse as time goes on.

this novel, i would say in my completely unprofessional but trustworthy opinion, is very nice. it does have some downsides, but I choose to continue because I want to see what happens.

some of these downsides are extremely slow fillers. this is not regular slow, these are SLOW, if you have the patience for them, you have patience for anything and everything.
another that people seem to get annoyed about is the fact that the mc is not in every battle, I personally, want to see how the other characters get through these battles without the mc, and its real fun to read
the last one I can remember is that people don't like all the plot holes, which i have not really noticed, but that's probably just me and my slow brain.

now, I'm gonna say, I like this book mainly for the same reasons as LastSearchResult. if you want a better understanding of the novel, their review is probably best to see.

There are a lot of thing about this that a lot of people may complain about like the disbalance of power caused by anti magic. Lack of consequences. Fights without proper conclusions and victors(a lot of them). And at times extremely slow pacing.

And all of these points of criticism are perfectly correct.

But personally? I really like this novel. I was expecting a lot worse cuz I heard it was an isekai with an op mc but it surprised me.

The entire world dosent just revolve around the mc. These are thing going on beyond his reach and even beyond his knowledge. The world feels alive. Unpredictable. The worldbuilding isn't 'vast' But it is extremely 'detailed' and complex. Different characters have different motivations. As a guy below blinked out, the mc is extremely strong but not unbeatable. In fact, even at chapter 600, mc is not even in top 100 and arguably not even top 500 in the world in therms of strength. Actions of both important and minor characters can affect things in both the near and the distant future.

So... yeah. These are all the things I like about this novel. If you have similar points of interest in the books you read, I highly recommend this one to you.

I have to say the one thing that really ruins this novel for me is the lack of consequences. Like for example (minor spoiler) . The whole book follows this same narrative, something interesting happens to the Mc and instead of him dealing with it, it all goes back to normal immediately. That is something I just can’t stand in a book

Classic but correct Isekai novel. A strong but not invincible MC, a romance but not a harem, a fairly complex world that makes you want to discover it. That's already pretty good for a Japanese isekai.

The only real problem I found is the presence of anti-magic alchemy which breaks the balance of the story. There is nothing more frustrating than seeing an MC work hard to develop his powers in order to become stronger only to have his powers nullified when faced with characters weaker than him.

Anti-magic alchemy creating an area where using magic is impossible. The MC finds himself trapped several times by this technology. And the more we advance in the story, the more nonsense it becomes. There are even anti-magic golems that arrive later, making the MC's power useless.

The only thing that prevents the inhabitants of this world from equipping armies or armor with this anti-magic alchemy is because the author did not want to make magicians totally useless. The author does not assume the versatility and power of this alchemy.

The presence of anti-magic techniques must be balanced and used well to avoid breaking the balance of forces in a magical world.

Asta's black grimoire in Black Clover, or Touma's Imagine Breaker in To aru Majutsu no Index are perfect examples of balanced anti-magic techniques.

In short, if we forget the anti-magic alchemy cheater, this story remains a rather decent Japanese isekai for those who like the genre.

I couldn't really get into this novel. It starts more or less with the MC marooned somewhere alone for 20 years, until a castaway washes up and then they travel to the kingdom.

The byplay between the MC and the castaway, and then with a young boy at the adventurer's guild in the kingdom as they work together was uncomfortable to me. Too much like a boy's love novel, so I dropped it.

So I read this up till ch. 171 and I would describe it as just good enough to pass time or for if you can't find something to read.
