Chapter 300: Battle of Gods

The endless plain stretched toward the horizon, dotted with lush forests and grasslands, interspersed with lakes shimmering like beautiful blue gemstones, akin to blue diamonds scattered across a green curtain.

At the very center of the plain, a towering ancient tree spread its branches and leaves, forming a graceful canopy that shaded the area within a radius of a thousand meters.

Countless handsome men and women in white robes strolled, chatted, played, and rested beneath the ancient tree, the atmosphere peaceful and serene.

At the very top of the tree's crown stood a beautiful woman, quietly gazing at the night sky.

She was exceptionally tall, nearly three meters high by visual estimation. By human standards, she was undoubtedly a giant, yet she didn't appear clumsy or bulky. Instead, she emanated an aura of refinement and delicacy.

She wore tight-fitting silver armor that perfectly outlined her exquisite figure.

Her glistening long hair flowed down like a waterfall to her ankles, its silver radiance swirling and shimmering, enveloping her in a faint glow.

Behind her, a man cloaked in a starry robe stood three or four meters away, his gaze calmly fixed on the sky.

Though it was daytime, the moon was clearly visible, even more so than at night.

Suddenly, gusts of cold wind began to blow from a distant place, carrying with them a mixture of yellow sand and gravel.

Although they were incredibly far away, the howling sounds echoed directly in their ears.

At the same time, a scarlet light emerged from the edge of the sky, sweeping toward the ancient tree like a tide, but was quickly blocked by the clear moonlight, greatly slowing its speed.

This sudden anomaly caused a stir among the people under the tree. Many took up their weapons, looking into the distance.

Only the woman at the tree crown and the man remained completely calm.

"She's coming," the man said slowly.

His tone was seemingly calm, but closer listening revealed a deep-seated apprehension within it.

The woman furrowed her brow, sighed, and turned her head to Wizard, softly asking, “How did you know she was going to attack me?”

Wizard replied calmly, “Your Crescent Moon Divine Authority and the Spider Goddess's Divine Authority are exceptionally compatible. Devouring your Divine Authority will certainly elevate the Spider Goddess's power, which is why she’s been watching you like a hawk… It’s something many know.”

The woman, known as Crescent Moon Goddess Ilia, chuckled noncommittally.

She was well aware that this was merely a deflection; the true reason was certainly not this.

But she did not intend to pursue the matter further.

The Star Spirit Clock Tower was undoubtedly the most knowledgeable about God among all factions of wizards. They always had channels to obtain secret information regarding divine matters, and being aware of the Spider Goddess's movements was not unusual.

The fact that he had made a special trip to remind her was not an act of goodwill—after all, the Star Spirit Clock Tower's disdain for deities was well-known—but rather an opportunity to sit back and watch both her and the Spider Goddess suffer, only to reap the benefits afterward.

Of course, it was more likely that she would be the one to fall at the hands of the Spider Goddess.

After all, the Spider Goddess's power far surpassed her own!

In the brief time since their conversation began, the sky had undergone another transformation.

Under the relentless onslaught of the seemingly endless crimson tide, the bright moonlight had dimmed and was gradually retreating.

The demonic, blood-red color loomed like a massive monster, slowly consuming the greenness of the Plain.

The verdant grass and beautiful flowers quickly withered and decayed, the trees turned lifeless, and the lakes dried up; all vibrant colors faded away, leaving only the Ancient Tree untouched.

Soon, the entire sky became engulfed by the blood-red hue, and all that could be seen was crimson.

The bright moon, once high in the sky, vanished as if space itself had collapsed, becoming a bottomless black hole.

This was the Spider Goddess’s Divine Kingdom eroding the new moon's Divine Kingdom.

Such was a combat method unique to the gods.

Battles among the divine often involved manipulating one’s Divine Kingdom to invade the opponent’s, thereby negating the opponent's Divine Kingdom buffs and relying solely on raw strength to fight.

However, the erosion of a Divine Kingdom was not an easy feat.

"Often, as long as one side resists with all its might, the opposing God would find it difficult to completely invade, preventing them from killing their opponent with the blessing of the Divine Kingdom.

This is also why, outside of the True Spirit realm, Gods rarely die.

Even among Gods, it is generally challenging to kill another God, let alone a Wizard.

However, there are exceptions.

If the Divine Authority of both sides overlaps and is similar in nature, then the stronger side can manipulate their Divine Kingdom of similar essence to rapidly erode the weaker side's Divine Kingdom, ultimately leading to their demise.

Just like what is happening right now!

For tens of thousands of years, Ilaya had been drifting through the endless void to evade the Spider Goddess.

She had never expected to be found.

She was unsure whether the Star Spirit Clock Tower or other members of the Wizard Faction were involved behind the scenes, but at that moment, she had no time to investigate.

From the moment of her birth, an unprecedented crisis now loomed right before her eyes.

If she couldn't get through this, today might be the day of her fall!

After a brief commotion, the Acolytes resting beneath the tree silently rose, each taking hold of their respective weapons.

Despite the dire circumstances, there was no fear or panic on their faces. They stood silently and calmly in front of the Ancient Tree, like the stillness before a storm.

Watching this scene, Ilaya sighed softly, her deep blue eyes filled with sadness.

Behind her, the Wizard of the Star Spirit Clock Tower had vanished without anyone's notice.

In the distance, a dark, dense shadow suddenly appeared on the horizon.

Upon closer inspection, it was revealed to be tens of thousands of spiders.

They varied in size and shape, their eight long limbs waving as they surged toward them like a colossal wave, threatening to engulf the Ancient Tree.

The attack of the Spider Goddess had begun!

The moment they stepped onto the plain, the ground beneath the spiders suddenly cracked open, and countless vines burst forth, growing rapidly and tearing through the air with a flowing, flickering light, whipping at the spiders like lashes."

A series of cracking sounds erupted as the first wave of spiders exploded into pieces while charging forward.

Yet, more spiders surged in—a relentless tide.

Some of them began to morph as they ran, twisting into ferocious Demon forms: Wax Golem, Balrog, Succubus, Glabrezu, and other bizarre shapes of Demons.

They wielded massive blades to hack at the vines, spewed flames to burn them, and unfurled their wings to fly directly over, advancing swiftly.

Before long, these Demons reached the area covered by the Ancient Tree.

The Acolyte, who had been waiting, charged forward expressionlessly, meeting the Demons head-on.

They wore no armor, only thin robes, yet moonlight appeared out of nowhere, enveloping them and shielding them from the Demons' attacks.

Moreover, their swordsmanship was exceptionally sharp.

Although greatly outnumbered, the Acolyte held their ground, refusing to yield an inch.

Ilaya paid no attention to the battle below; his gaze was fixed on the distance, his expression heavy.

From the vast invading army, a spider rose straight up, as if climbing an invisible silken thread. When it was almost touching the sky, violet Demon Fire abruptly appeared, swirling around it like a phoenix.

When the flames died down, the spider had transformed into a stunning woman, enveloped in a robe and cloak woven from translucent spider silk that accentuated her curvaceous form. A jade-green Spider Dagger twirled in her palm, shifting from her left hand to her right before vanishing altogether.

It was Spider Goddess Rose, the notorious Spider Queen of the Multiverse!

She lifted her face, looking at Ilaya above the Ancient Tree, a mocking smile on her full lips, though her purple eyes were utterly devoid of emotion.

"Long time no see, Ilaya."

Ilaya's lips tightened, and he did not respond. Instead, he drew his Crescent Sword in a swift motion. The sword tip vibrated in the air, creating a crisp, clear sound.

She raised the Moon Blade, pointing it at the Spider Goddess.

The two goddesses shared a brief gaze, then their figures surged forward simultaneously, launching themselves at each other with deadly intention.

Ilaya's Moon Blade vibrated rapidly in her hand as a bright moon rose behind her, illuminating the night sky and slightly pushing back the heavy crimson hue. With a decisive thrust, she aimed the sword at Rose's chest.

Rose retreated swiftly, and Ilaya pursued closely behind. The two goddesses began their deadly duel in mid-air.

Ilaya's movements were light and graceful, each gesture exuding a refined elegance. Though it was a fight to the death, it resembled a mesmerizing sword dance.

In contrast, Rose's style was far more unusual.

She moved like a spider suspended on a thread, her web seemingly encompassing the entire atmosphere, advancing and retreating with precise intent.

Her movements were as swift as the wind. They appeared rigid and unyielding, yet they represented the most efficient routes of attack, calculated with utmost precision and devoid of any embellishments.

Despite being a frontal confrontation, each of her strikes felt like a surprise assault, embodying the essence of an assassin's technique.

Clang!

The Crescent Blade and the Spider Dagger collided, erupting in a brilliant flash of light. Crisp, muffled sounds intertwined as they clashed.

The two combatants seemed entirely unfazed, yet invisible shockwaves radiated outward like ripples. The surrounding void was torn apart and shattered, reducing everything to dust, only to be recombined in an instant, repeating the cycle.

The crimson hue, resembling storm clouds, surged forward, unleashing an overwhelming pressure that made it nearly impossible to maintain clarity of thought. Only when Ilaya swung her Moon Blade, reflecting the bright full moon behind her, could the scattered light momentarily push back the encroaching Darkness.

"This is the power of a god," murmured the Wizard of the Star Spirit Clock Tower, hidden in the distance, as admiration crossed his face.

While spellcasting encompasses endless techniques and tricks, they pale in comparison to the might of a god. Even a formidable seven or eight-ring spellcaster would struggle to inflict damage upon such a being.

Only the most powerful nine-ring spells could pose the slightest threat to a god.

But it was only a slight advantage. When confronted by a deity, the True Spirit Wizard typically did not employ the energy-draining Nine-Ring Spell. Instead, they wielded Law Power, which was on par with Divine Power and Divine Authority. Only Law Power could truly pose a threat to a god! Whether in battles between gods or between a god and a True Spirit Wizard, the confrontations were fundamentally clashes of Law Power. It was a contest of who possessed the stronger Law and who demonstrated a more profound understanding and mastery of it.

The fierce battle in the distance raged on. Ilaya steadily withstood Rose's relentless assaults, but every counterattack she attempted was skillfully dodged or blocked. The disparity in power between them was clear. Had it not been for the New Moon Goddess's Divine Artifact, the Crescent Blade, which suppressed Rose, Ilaya would likely have already succumbed to Rose's Spider Dagger.

However, the Wizard understood that this stalemate was only temporary. Faced with such a vast power imbalance, the ultimate outcome would remain unchanged. That was precisely why they had relayed this information to Ilaya, hoping she would make the necessary preparations to avoid a total defeat, at least inflicting a serious blow on Rose. Only then could their subsequent plans unfold!

As the two gods fought, blood-red clouds and clear moonlight filled the sky, intertwining and surging endlessly like waves in a storm. Gradually, the figures of the two gods became obscured, with only the vague outlines of colliding blood-red and silver light clusters visible!

After an unknown span of time, a thunderous rumble echoed from high above. Almost immediately, a massive tear appeared in the chaotic mix of blood-red and silver clouds. The figures of the two gods reemerged. Ilaya retreated like a wounded wolf, her weapon flying from her grasp, shattering into dozens of fragments mid-air and scattering in all directions.

"Farewell, Ilaya."

With a chilling smile, Rose announced his intentions as a sky-encompassing spiderweb descended from above, enveloping Ilaya within its strands and tightly wrapping him like a cocoon. It then dragged him into a black hole in the sky, where he vanished.

"Ah!"

On the ground, the Acolyte let out a desperate roar, striving to salvage their faith. But with Ilaya's defeat, the moonlight that had illuminated them faded, and they were quickly overwhelmed by countless spiders and demons.

Watching this scene, Rose chuckled deeply, wiped the blood from the corner of his lips, and cast a cold glance in the direction of the Wizard before turning and taking a step forward, his entire being disappearing into the void.

"He noticed?"

In the distance, the Wizard frowned slightly but quickly regained his composure.

Being noticed was inconsequential.

The Spider Goddess had long coveted the Divine Authority of the New Moon Goddess, and with such a tempting bait before her, she would surely take it, even if she knew it was laced with poison.

This was a perfectly legitimate Conspiracy of Light!

At that moment, events were unfolding according to their plan. The bait had been taken, and even if the Spider Goddess became aware of their involvement, it would be too late.

The war on the Plain was over. Without the protection of the New Moon Goddess, the Acolyte had been utterly annihilated.

The endless spiders dispersed, cheering and hissing with joy.

Crimson blood spread in all directions, the color deepening with intensity.

The Deep Pit Magic Network was accelerating the consumption of this Divine Kingdom.

It wouldn’t be long before this place also became part of the Spider Goddess's Divine Kingdom.

The Wizard retracted his gaze, tore through the Plane Rift, and stepped into it, disappearing into the unknown.
