Chapter 301: Mastery of the Law
Shimmering Spirit Plane, the temporary camp.
The Golem Puppets that were originally stationed in the camp had been assigned to patrol the surrounding area, with the camp as their center.
The camp itself had been transformed into a gravity cultivation ground. The ground was covered with intricate, profound patterns, densely crisscrossing one another. In the air, subtle, folded distortions were faintly visible, indicating the extent of the gravity present.
Even a Supreme Golem would find it difficult to move an inch upon entering the camp.
Ordinary structures simply couldn't withstand such terrifying gravity. The buildings in the camp had long been completely demolished, leaving behind only a vast emptiness.
Su Nan sat cross-legged in the very center of this empty space, his eyes tightly closed. While enduring the overwhelming gravity, he focused on comprehending the Law of Gravity.
Nearly seven hundred years had passed since the end of the Wizard Civil War. He had devoted himself almost entirely to mastering the Law of Gravity.
Aside from occasional returns to the Starlight Continent to synthesize some resources, he had spent the majority of his time in the Shimmering Spirit Plane.
With his absolute dedication to cultivation, his understanding of the Law of Gravity had progressed rapidly.
Day and night alternated, and after an unknown period, Su Nan's body trembled slightly. A strange fluctuation suddenly spread rapidly outward from him in all directions. Wherever it passed, the folded distortions in the void instantly vanished, and the oppressive gravity dissipated into thin air.
The Golem Puppets patrolling around the camp suddenly stumbled, involuntarily lifting off the ground.
But soon, that strange fluctuation disappeared just as quickly. The Golem Puppets thumped back to the ground, shook their heads, and, seeing no orders coming from the center of the camp, resumed their patrols as before.
In the center of the camp, Su Nan opened his eyes, an expression of uncontainable elation shining in them.
"I’ve finally mastered it!"
After spending over eight hundred years, he had finally succeeded in mastering the Law of Gravity!
If he wished, he could ascend to True Spirit Wizard at any moment, reaching the realm that countless Wizards yearned for in their dreams.
Of course, Su Nan wouldn’t consider that.
What he sought was far more than mere advancement to True Spirit Wizard.
After some time, Su Nan finally calmed the wild joy within his heart and focused on sensing the Gravity Law he controlled.
Comprehending a Law and controlling it were two different things.
The former only allowed one to sense the related Law and gain some understanding of it, but one couldn't manipulate its power. At best, when casting a related spell, the power would be somewhat increased.
The latter, however, involved a true understanding of the essence of the Law, enabling one to manipulate its power to some degree.
In essence, the difference between Su Nan and a True Spirit Wizard was that he hadn't yet taken that final step in his breakthrough, resulting in a relatively small amount of Law Power he could control.
Both were at the same level, merely differing in the scale of their power.
To put it simply, it was akin to being at Half-Step True Spirit.
An ordinary Level 3 Wizard, in Su Nan's hands, probably wouldn’t last even a single exchange.
Taking a deep breath, Su Nan's thoughts stirred, and the surrounding Gravity suddenly increased rapidly, soaring hundreds of times in an instant.
The ground of the original campsite, which had become as hard as iron after centuries of extreme Gravity, cracked and splintered into large spiderweb-like fissures under the surging force.
It was as if an invisible giant fist had descended from the sky, creating a massive pit in the Plane of the campsite.
In the next moment, the mountain-like weight of the Gravity abruptly vanished, causing the debris scattered across the ground to float as if losing all weight, hovering in mid-air.
Watching this spectacle, Su Nan nodded in satisfaction.
The increase and decrease of Gravity might seem ordinary, but it had a high degree of practicality in actual combat. If utilized effectively in battle, it could prove to be of great significance.
Moreover, the application techniques of Gravity Law were not limited to simply adjusting its intensity.
Su Nan flicked his finger, and an invisible ripple shot out, striking a small hill a kilometer away. Instantly, a loud rumble erupted as the hill was pulverized, as if struck by a cannonball!
"Close behind, vast swathes of wrinkles and distortions abruptly appeared in the void, grinding the remaining hill rubble into an incredibly fine powder!
Gravity Wave! Spatial Distortion!
These two applications of the Gravity Law are equally astonishing in their power!
Moreover, there exists an even more powerful technique: the Gravity Black Hole!
However, this move is currently beyond my capabilities; I’ll have to wait until I advance to True Spirit Wizard to possess enough power to unleash it.
"Once I advance to True Spirit Wizard and gain greater control over the Gravity Law, I can use it as a foundation to attempt to grasp Universal Gravitation, and even extend to the laws of Space and Time."
Su Nan exhaled in delight, filled with endless anticipation for the potential of the Gravity Law.
"Now that I have gained control of the Gravity Law, the next step is to comprehend and master the Thunder Law."
Su Nan stretched, deciding to rest for a few days before seeking a suitable Lightning Element Space to delve into the Thunder Law.
Stowing away the Golem Puppet, Su Nan tore open a Space Crack, stepping into it and vanishing. When he reappeared, he found himself back in the Starlight Continent.
High in the sky, his figure flickered once more, instantly returning to the interior of the Starlight Wizard Tower.
Having successfully mastered the Law Power, Su Nan had a completely new understanding of Energy Particles, and his use of spells had become much more profound.
Now, if he wished, a single Teleportation Spell could traverse the entirety of the Starlight Continent.
He could even defeat a Level One Wizard with a single Spell Missile!
Law Power was inherently a higher-level type of Energy formed from basic Energy Particles. Mastery of the Law Power made a world of difference in the application of Energy Particles.
Returning to his study, Su Nan sent out a message.
Not long after, Lize arrived.
The moment his gaze fell on Lize, Su Nan's eyes lit up slightly.
"You've broken through to Level 3 Crystallization?"
After reshaping her body, Lize had never slacked in her cultivation.
Although her ghostly state from two years ago had hindered her ability to make breakthroughs in her cultivation realm, she had gained significant insights into the application and cultivation of Energy Particles. Coupled with the support of the Star Alliance and ample resources, her strength had increased dramatically.
It was only expected that she had reached Level 3 Crystallization.
"I just broke through three years ago. I can hardly compare to you."
That being said, Lize's eyes still held a glimmer of delight. However, she carefully sized up Su Nan a few times, seemingly noticing something. Hesitantly, she asked, "Have you mastered the Gravity Law?"
Su Nan nodded with a smile. In response, Lize couldn't help but exclaim in admiration, "Your cultivation speed is truly astounding!" Despite having witnessed many of Su Nan's miracles, she found herself in awe at this moment.
In just over eight hundred years, he had successfully overcome the two major hurdles of comprehending and mastering Laws. It was unlikely that anyone in the entire Multiverse could match his rapid rise in strength! Those so-called geniuses were completely left in the dust by Su Nan!
After a long silence, Lize finally regained her composure and asked, "When do you plan to advance to True Spirit Wizard?"
"No rush," Su Nan shrugged, replying, "I plan to master another Thunder Law first."
Lize wasn’t surprised to hear this. With Su Nan's talent, it was clear he aimed to become a True Spirit Wizard through the mastery of dual Laws; otherwise, it would be a waste of such potential. He had already spent eight hundred years mastering the Gravity Law, so mastering an elemental Thunder Law would likely take an additional five or six hundred years, bringing his total to around one thousand four or five hundred years.
That amount of time was hardly enough for an ordinary cultivator to comprehend and master a single Elemental Law! The more Lize witnessed Su Nan's rapid progress, the more she felt his extraordinary nature! It was simply unbelievable!
"What Law are you planning to comprehend?" Su Nan suddenly asked.
Lize snapped back to reality and, without hesitation, said, "Star Law."
Su Nan wore an expression that suggested he had expected this answer. When the Starfall Society was still around, the True Spirit Wizards that emerged had consistently comprehended Star Law. It had become a symbol of the Starfall Society.
Although teaching the comprehension of a Law was challenging, the many predecessors in the Starfall Society had accumulated enough experience to aid in understanding Star Law. It was only natural that Lize chose this path to increase her chances of advancing to True Spirit Wizard.
After discussing their experiences with comprehending Laws for a while, Su Nan shifted the conversation to the development of the Star Alliance.
"Lize, though busy with his cultivation, was not like Su Nan, who tended to be an almost hands-off manager. He always kept a close watch on the development of the Star Alliance. Noticing Su Nan's inquiry, he explained calmly and in detail.
"The ten planes we conquered are now fully under our control."
"Each plane is being developed in different ways, tailored to its specific circumstances. Among these, the exploitation plan for the Magic Plant Garden on the Purple Moon Plane stands out as the most advanced. It is nearly complete and has now entered a mature operational stage."
"The immigration plan for the West Ge Plane is also progressing smoothly. It is estimated that by the year 4,300 of the Starlight Calendar, the West Ge Plane will have undergone initial transformation, bringing its population closer to the average level of a human plane."
Su Nan nodded in satisfaction.
Once the transformation of the West Ge Plane was complete, the Star Alliance would possess four human planes. This would mean that human planes would account for one-third of the total number of planes, an unparalleled ratio across the entire Wizarding World.
This was undoubtedly a tremendous advantage for the development of the Star Alliance!
"How many wizards do we have now?"
"As of the end of last month, our total stands at four thousand eight hundred sixty-four."
After a pause, Lize added another detail.
"According to intelligence we acquired from the City of All Things, the total number of wizards in Thousand Headed Bird before the Wizard Civil War began was about four thousand three hundred, while Black Suo Tower had over six thousand two hundred. Of course, this is just a rough estimate, but it clearly indicates that the current number of wizards in the Star Alliance has reached the upper-middle tier of second-rate wizard forces."
"The proportion of third-level wizards is slightly lower, but it has also reached the upper-middle level of the second tier."
Su Nan nodded slightly, quite satisfied with this information.
The rapid growth of wizards in the Star Alliance was primarily due to the alliance conquering two human planes consecutively and transforming another, resulting in a significant increase in the population base. Wizards naturally emerged like bamboo shoots after a spring rain.
As for the increase in the proportion of third-level wizards, this was a result of the growth in resource supply.
After breaking through to Level 3 Crystallization, Su Nan no longer needed to absorb divine energy. All the Elemental Crystal Cores synthesized with Elemental Crystal Dust were now dedicated to supporting the cultivation of his wizards."
With a sufficient supply of resources, Star Alliance's cultivation speed has significantly increased.
The number of second-tier Level 3 Wizards has also risen dramatically.
“At this rate, when you advance to True Spirit Wizard, Star Alliance might just leap to become a top-tier Second Rate Wizard Force, surpassing the former standing of Black Suo Tower,” Lize said with a smile.
Su Nan shook his head. “It’s still a bit lacking. Even if I break through, Star Alliance will only have one True Spirit Wizard, which isn’t enough to contend for a top-tier position. We’ll be in a better place when you also advance to True Spirit Wizard.”
Star Law belongs to the category of Rule Laws, and its comprehension and control are nearly as difficult as that of Gravity Law.
However, once Lize successfully comprehends Star Law, he can take the Enlightenment Potion to support his cultivation. His understanding of the Law will definitely progress much faster than the average Level 3 Wizard.
Then, he could spare some time to synthesize some Star and Law Power to expedite Lize's comprehension. In at most three or four thousand years, Lize could be poised to advance to True Spirit Wizard.
By then, Star Alliance would have two True Spirit Wizards, truly qualifying it to join the ranks of top-tier Second Rate Wizard Forces!
As for the higher-level Large and Wizard Factions, Su Nan was acutely aware of his limitations, knowing very well that Star Alliance wouldn’t be able to reach that status in the next few thousand years.
Which of the existing Large and Wizard Factions hadn’t existed for hundreds of thousands of years, or even longer?
The time since the establishment of Star Alliance didn’t even amount to a fraction of their history.
Even if Su Nan dedicated all his effort to leading Star Alliance’s development, it would be impossible to catch up to the developmental paths of others, which spanned hundreds of thousands or even millions of years, in just a few thousand years.
Of course, as long as Star Alliance continued to grow, Su Nan believed that one day, he would achieve the goal of becoming a Large and Wizard Faction!
Lize, unaware of Su Nan's plans, merely shook his head upon hearing his words.
“I can’t compare with you. It would be wonderful if I could break through before the end of my natural lifespan.”
Su Nan smiled and mentioned the Enlightenment Potion.
Hearing this, Lize's eyes immediately lit up.
“There’s such a Potion?”
Lize exclaimed, filled with joy.
Since the Potion had been personally verified by Su Nan, its effects were undoubtedly genuine.
"In this way, the time she needed to master Star Law could be shortened by at least half, greatly increasing her chances of advancing to True Spirit Wizard before her lifespan ended.
How could that not fill her heart with joy?
"You truly are remarkable!" Lize sighed, visibly moved.
Su Nan consistently brought her surprises.
Su Nan smiled, deliberately avoiding the subject of Law Power synthesis, or else Lize would likely faint from sheer joy.
"By the way, has anything significant happened in the Multiverse recently?"
Su Nan asked casually, not anticipating that Lize’s expression would turn serious.
"Actually, there is something!"
"Not long ago, the New Moon Goddess was killed by the Spider Goddess, and both the Divine Kingdom and Divine Authority were devoured by her."
Su Nan was momentarily taken aback.
From his memory, the fall of the New Moon Goddess appeared to be a precursor to the ambush by the Spider Goddess.
The two events had occurred within a year of each other.
If that’s the case, the ambush by the Spider Goddess may be imminent!"
