Chapter 299: Another God is About to Face Misfortune

Just like the first time he came, Radiance Pavilion still appeared as an ordinary inn from the outside.

If someone didn't know of Radiance Pavilion's existence, they would likely glance at it and move on, never suspecting that this establishment was one of the three renowned chambers of commerce in the City of All Things.

Su Nan looked up at the sign before stepping inside.

Unlike its narrow exterior, the interior was spacious and bright, with a few items sparsely arranged on a dozen wooden shelves.

Behind the counter near the entrance, a slender, blond young man was flipping through accounting books. It was Guang Yao Long, who had taken on a human form.

Noticing a customer enter, Guang Yao Long lazily raised his head. When he saw Su Nan, he paused for a moment, and then, as if recalling something, his platinum eyes brightened slightly.

"It's you."

"It's been several hundred years since you've visited," he remarked.

Su Nan approached the counter with a smile. "Does the boss still remember me?"

Guang Yao Long scoffed. "I usually don't remember people, but your Inscribed Gem made a lasting impression on me."

"Then I have the Inscribed Gem to thank," Su Nan replied, smiling.

"What do you want to buy this time?"

Guang Yao Long gazed at Su Nan with keen interest, looking forward to him producing the Inscribed Gem.

The Dragon race was indeed particularly fond of gemstones.

Su Nan sighed inwardly and got straight to the point. "Do you have any Heavenly Revelation Potion available?"

"Heavenly Revelation Potion?"

Guang Yao Long's expression turned surprised, and he scrutinized Su Nan closely. "I knew I hadn't misjudged you. I always believed you would achieve great things in the future, but I didn’t expect you to comprehend Law so quickly."

During their first meeting, Guang Yao Long had confidently stated that Su Nan would become a True Spirit Wizard sooner or later.

However, even he hadn't anticipated that Su Nan would grasp the intricacies of Law so swiftly.

"Unfortunately, True Spirit Wizards guard the Heavenly Revelation Potion closely, and it rarely circulates outside. I don’t have any here either."

Su Nan felt a pang of disappointment, but then he noticed Guang Yao Long shifting the subject.

"Though I don't have the Heavenly Revelation Potion," the man said, "I do have another potion that I think you might find interesting."

Su Nan asked curiously, "What potion is it?"

Guang Yao Long waved his hand across the counter, and a bottle of potion suddenly appeared on the previously empty surface. It contained a pale silver liquid that shimmered with a captivating luster under the glow of the Magic Stone Lamp.

"This is the Enlightenment Potion, a replica created by a certain wizard in imitation of the Heavenly Revelation Potion. Its effects are roughly one-tenth that of the Heavenly Revelation Potion."

"Such a thing exists?" Su Nan exclaimed in surprise, quickly regaining his composure. "Why have I never heard of this potion before?"

Even if it was only one-tenth as effective as the Heavenly Revelation Potion, that was still significant.

If what Guang Yao Long was saying was true, then the Enlightenment Potion would have long been coveted by many Tier 3 Crystallization Wizards. It seemed impossible that Su Nan hadn’t heard of it until now.

Guang Yao Long chuckled and explained, "This potion has a side effect. After taking it, it causes slight damage to the soul, and it must be used in conjunction with a potion or magical plant that can nourish and restore the soul."

Suddenly, Su Nan understood.

No wonder.

The importance of the soul to a wizard is well known. A potion that would harm the soul certainly wouldn’t be well-received.

Even if one could overlook that, there was another significant obstacle.

The potions and magical plants that could nourish and restore the soul were all extremely precious and hard to come by. If one had to use the Enlightenment Potion alongside such treasures, the total cost would probably not be much less than that of the true Heavenly Revelation Potion, while the medicinal effect would be far inferior.

In comparison, the Enlightenment Potion suddenly seemed rather useless.

No wonder he had never encountered any references to the Enlightenment Potion. It was likely that not many wizards would be foolish enough to use it.

However, this was perfectly suitable for Su Nan.

As long as he utilized Cube Synthesis, he could eliminate all side effects completely.

Though he felt a surge of joy within, Su Nan maintained a calm facade. He took the potion, examined it for a moment, and said, "I want to verify if this potion is as you claim."

"No problem," Guang Yao Long gestured invitingly. "However, if you use the potion, you’ll have to purchase it."

He Su Nan nodded, placing the Enlightenment Potion into the Magic Cube, which quickly displayed the corresponding information.

Just as Guang Yao Long had said.

After confirming there was no mistake, Su Nan took the Potion out again, set it back on the counter, and asked, "What's the price?"

From Guang Yao Long's perspective, the Potion had only been out of Su Nan's hand for a few seconds, as if it had been stored in a Space Ring before being retrieved.

Judging by Su Nan's demeanor, it appeared he had already verified the information.

Such an unusual method of verification left even the well-informed Guang Yao Long a bit perplexed.

However, knowing better than to inquire too much, he extended two fingers and said, "Twenty Inscribed Gems, the same as last time."

Seeing Su Nan frown slightly, he raised his hands in a gesture of explanation. "The materials used to create this Potion aren't cheap."

"The materials' worth is irrelevant to me; I only care about the medicinal effects."

Su Nan contemplated for a moment before saying, "Forget it, I won’t buy the Potion. I want the recipe for the Enlightenment Potion."

Guang Yao Long shook his head in refusal. "The recipe isn’t for sale."

Su Nan replied with a half-smile, "Not many people buy the Enlightenment Potion, right? Even if the recipe stays with you, it won’t generate much profit. Why not sell it to me once for a gain?"

Noticing a flicker of interest in Guang Yao Long's eyes, Su Nan seized the opportunity and placed an Inscribed Gem on the counter.

"Perhaps you could take a look at this first."

Guang Yao Long's gaze locked onto the Inscribed Gem, and he was momentarily stunned, unable to look away.

"This is..." Guang Yao Long's eyes sparkled with undeniable eagerness.

Su Nan noticed and a slight smile curled at the corners of his mouth.

After successfully comprehending the Law, the value of the Inscribed Gem had significantly diminished for him.

Even so, before arriving at Radiance Pavilion, he had made sure to synthesize a few Inscribed Gems.

Each one had been crafted from over two hundred Basic Engraving Gems, making them several times higher in quality than the Inscribed Gem he had previously traded to Guang Yao Long.

As long as someone was keen on collecting gemstones, he wouldn’t have to worry about not attracting their interest.

After some time, Guang Yao Long reluctantly pulled his gaze away. He hesitated for a moment before gritting his teeth and declaring, "Five of these Inscribed Gems, and I'll sell you the recipe!"

Su Nan smiled faintly. “Deal!”

With five Inscribed Gems in hand, Guang Yao Long's mood visibly brightened, and he regarded Su Nan with surprised admiration.

“Your Magic Item Creation skill is more impressive than that of many True Spirit Wizards. I've never seen any Wizard capable of creating such high-grade Inscribed Gems.”

“These things are very difficult to make; I only have a few on hand.”

Su Nan casually fabricated a reply, deflecting Guang Yao Long's probing inquiries.

Having achieved his goal, he saw no reason to linger any longer. After exchanging a few more pleasantries, he intended to take his leave.

Just as he was about to step out the door, a man suddenly entered from outside.

The two paused, sizing each other up, their steps halting in unison.

The newcomer appeared to be around thirty years old, with ordinary features, save for a peculiar black mark on his right cheek.

The pattern of the mark was simple—a crooked black line—but when Su Nan's gaze fell upon it, he felt as though he were staring into a dark, bottomless abyss, with the unsettling sensation that his Soul was about to be drawn in.

Su Nan's mind jolted, and he quickly averted his eyes, astonished inwardly.

Law Power!

From that black mark, he could clearly sense the power of Law!

For someone to evoke such a response in him with just a glance indicated that this individual was undoubtedly a True Spirit Wizard!

True Spirit Wizards rarely appeared in the City of All Things, and Su Nan felt a flicker of curiosity about the purpose of this unfamiliar Wizard's visit to Radiance Pavilion. However, after a moment's contemplation, he reined in his curiosity and walked out of the store.

As they brushed past each other, the man turned his head and shot Su Nan a meaningful glance.

It wasn't until Su Nan's figure had vanished that the man turned his gaze back and entered the store.

Guang Yao Long, who had been happily admiring the Gemstones behind the counter, looked up to see the newcomer, surprise flickering across his face.

“A rare guest, Jude! Why are you here instead of at the Realm of Truth?”

Jude didn't respond directly to his question, instead asking, “Who was that just now?”

"You're stating the obvious," Guang Yao Long scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Star Alliance humiliated you all so badly that even your most ardent supporters were defeated by them. I refuse to believe you don't recognize Star Alliance's Controller."

"It is him, after all."

Jude shook his head, unfazed by Guang Yao Long's sarcastic tone.

He had indeed seen Su Nan's image and was aware of Star Alliance as a person. However, he had just sensed the aura of Law emanating from him. As far as he knew, Su Nan had only reached Level 3 Liquefaction five hundred years ago. Logically, he shouldn't have been able to grasp the essence of Law so quickly.

That's why he questioned whether he had mistaken the person.

But it turned out he truly was Su Nan!

"To have progressed from Level 3 Liquefaction to Level 3 Crystallization in just over five hundred years and successfully grasp the essence of Law—such talent is more extraordinary than that of many True Spirit Descendants."

"With such talent and strength, it's no wonder he's made a name for himself."

Jude glanced in the direction Su Nan had departed, a fleeting glimmer in his eyes.

Noticing Jude deep in thought, Guang Yao Long put away his Gemstone and impatiently asked, "What do you want to buy?"

Jude didn’t mind his tone and replied calmly, "Ten bottles of God Concealing Potion."

Guang Yao Long raised an eyebrow and sneered, "Chasing after another God, are you?"

Jude looked at him with a composed expression and didn’t respond.

Finding no amusement in Jude's silence, Guang Yao Long clicked his tongue and said nothing more, tossing out ten bottles of potion.

"Same as usual, ten Gloomy Gems," he stated.

Jude did not haggle, placing ten gems on the counter before leaving without looking back.

As he watched Jude’s retreating figure, Guang Yao Long shrugged.

"Looks like another God is in for some misfortune."

Back on his Starlight Continent, Su Nan immediately entered the Laboratory of the Starlight Wizard Tower and began crafting Enlightenment Potions.

With ready-made materials in the warehouse, Su Nan instructed Tower Spirit 1 to gather them.

Now that his Potion Making skill had reached level 7, he was among the best, even within the True Spirit Wizards, more than capable of making Enlightenment Potions.

After two or three attempts, Su Nan successfully created his first bottle of Enlightenment Potion.

The effect displayed by the Magic Cube was not much different from the bottle that Guang Yao Long had taken out.

Subsequently, Su Nan produced more than ten bottles of Enlightenment Potion and proceeded to synthesize them.

As expected, after placing four bottles of Enlightenment Potion into the Magic Cube, the newly synthesized potion had no side effects whatsoever.

"Not bad!" Su Nan nodded in satisfaction.

Next, he needed to test the adaptability of the Enlightenment Potion to himself.

It was clear that Enlightenment Potion could not be synthesized and amplified indefinitely; after all, he had his own limits.

What he needed to do next was to test this limit of synthesis.

After considerable time spent consuming more than ten bottles of Enlightenment Potion one after another, Su Nan finally found the optimal combination.

The final synthesized Enlightenment Potion allowed him to comprehend the Law at a rate that was about 120% higher than before—more than double the original rate.

"At this pace, it should take about thirteen to fourteen hundred years to fully master the Gravity Law," Su Nan said, delighted.

This was a significant improvement!

It was evident that he still needed cultivation resources to accelerate his strength growth!

However, recovering from his joy, Su Nan fell deep in thought.

While the current speed of comprehending the Law was commendable, he felt it still wasn’t sufficient.

With less than seven hundred years remaining before the Ambush Spider Goddess incident, it would be ideal to master the Gravity Law beforehand, giving him the strength to capitalize on the situation during the event.

"Collecting some magic plants and potions that can enhance physical strength and the intensity of the soul to aid in cultivation should further improve the speed of comprehending the Law, but the increase might not be substantial—definitely not as effective as the Enlightenment Potion."

Wait!

Suddenly, Su Nan had an epiphany and couldn't help but lightly pat his forehead.

All this time, he had been searching for solutions within himself, attempting to increase his own tolerance for the Law Power, without considering the possibility of changing his external environment.

"In the end, comprehending the Law is about understanding its essence. If I could study the Law in an environment with increased gravity, would it possibly enhance my efficiency?"

Su Nan thought this was worth a try.

Thinking of this, Su Nan immediately entered the Shimmering Spirit Plane.

Setting up a high-gravity environment wasn't difficult for a Tier 3 Crystallization Wizard; it simply required a Magic Array.

Su Nan quickly completed the setup, then sat in the center of the array and activated it.

The gravity of the Shimmering Spirit Plane was already significantly greater than that of an ordinary plane, and after being amplified by the Magic Array, the gravity reached astonishing levels.

As soon as the array was activated, an immense pressure, as heavy as a mountain, enveloped Su Nan's entire body.

Despite his strength as a Tier 3 Crystallization Wizard, his breath hitched for a moment, and his upper body bent slightly forward; it took him some time to straighten up.

Taking a deep breath, Su Nan began to comprehend the Law.

The result pleasantly surprised him; his efficiency in understanding the Law had indeed increased!

"It really works!" Su Nan exclaimed with joy, moving to modify the Magic Array further and increase the gravity.

After several enhancements, the gravity within the array soared to such an extent that even a Second Level Wizard would be crushed into a pulp instantly.

Under this immense pressure, Su Nan found himself utterly pinned to the spot, unable to move. Even while seated, he could hear the creaking of his bones under the strain.

"Is this the limit?" Su Nan sighed, realizing he should abandon the idea of further increasing the gravity and instead focus on his cultivation.

Although training in such an extremely high-gravity environment was exceptionally difficult and painful, the efficiency of comprehending the Gravity Law was correspondingly high.

Moreover, after consuming the magic plants and potions he had gathered in advance—designed to enhance the strength of his physical body and soul—Su Nan experienced a significant boost in the speed at which he comprehended the Gravity Law.

Thus, Su Nan immersed himself in this painful yet pleasurable cultivation, entirely unaware of the passage of time.
