Chapter 250: The Source of All Abnormal Changes

"How is this possible?!"

The Dog-headed Wizard stared blankly, shock plastered across his face.

Could it be that the Elemental Pool of the opposing Wizard Tower wasn’t Small but Medium?

Liam and the Bone-faced Wizard wore similarly grim expressions.

After two rounds of concentrated fire, the durability of the Mystic Lock Defense Energy Field of the Wizard Tower had already diminished by nearly two-thirds.

With another round of concentrated fire, the Energy Field would likely be on the verge of collapse!

Simultaneously, the Spell Turrets of the Dark Wizard Tower were also firing in unison at the other side. However, in both scale and firepower, they were vastly inferior to their opponents, striking the opposing Energy Field like a mud ox plunging into the sea, unable to create even the slightest ripple.

"It’s alright! Even if it’s a Medium Elemental Pool, such a large-scale volley can’t continue for a third round. The Wizard Tower on the other side…”

Desperate to encourage himself, the Dog-headed Wizard spoke through gritted teeth.

But before he could finish his sentence, the opposing Wizard Tower once again unleashed countless Cursed Rune Rays in unison.

"…"

This time, the Dog-headed Wizard was completely stunned, rendered speechless.

Liam and the Bone-faced Wizard felt their hearts plummet into despair.

They could still fire in unison!

Could the opposing Wizard Tower have been constructed as a Large Elemental Pool?!

Looking at the opposing Energy Field, it didn’t seem to be Small level; it was more likely Medium or even Large.

And with the over-specification of three hundred Spell Turrets, was this truly a Small Wizard Tower?

Even a Medium Wizard Tower shouldn’t be this formidable!

As the three stood dazed, the Wizard Tower on the opposite side glowed again with Spell Radiance.

At the sight of this, all three of them shivered in unison, their expressions filled with terror.

The Energy Field of the Wizard Tower was already at its breaking point; if it took another hit, it would undoubtedly crumble!

Liam made an immediate decision and deployed the Internal Legion.

In an instant, mysterious Magic Arrays emerged from the surface of the Dark Wizard Tower, and bone claws with skeletal wings sprouted forth. After a brief pause, they flapped their bony wings and soared toward the Cursed Rune Rays.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

The Flying Bone Claws were significantly more powerful than ordinary bone claws, clearly belonging to a higher tier of puppetry. Yet before the Cursed Rune Ray, they were obliterated like fragile bubbles in a single strike.

However, their sacrifice was ultimately not in vain, as the Cursed Rune Ray aimed at the Dark Wizard Tower was completely blocked.

Seeing this, the three of Liam breathed a collective sigh of relief.

But just at that moment, the opposing Wizard Tower also dispatched their Puppet Legion.

Thousands of Mithril Golem bodies, glowing with spell light, charged fiercely towards the Flying Bone Claws.

In the blink of an eye, the two sides were locked in a fierce battle!

“Those Mithril Golems…” the Bone-faced Wizard frowned, gazing intently. “They seem to have been enchanted and stabilized with spells.”

The Flying Bone Claws were top-tier puppets of the Second-Ring Legend, no less powerful than ordinary Mithril Golems.

However, the Mithril Golems before them had clearly been enhanced, their combat power surpassing that of the Flying Bone Claws.

Fortunately, perhaps due to the enormous consumption of energy, the spell turret of the opposing Wizard Tower finally ceased firing, allowing the three of Liam to breathe a sigh of relief.

Yet, the situation was still unfavorable for them. After a moment of hesitation, Liam gritted his teeth and initiated the final combat sequence of the Wizard Tower.

Another dozen Flying Bone Claws emerged from within the Dark Wizard Tower.

These Flying Bone Claws were not only larger and more robust, but they also had dense, strange black patterns etched onto their bone surfaces, making them appear as if they were wearing a layer of hollow, black armor.

As they materialized, a cold, sinister aura immediately filled the high sky.

A Mithril Golem rushed towards a Black Vein Bone Claw, throwing a punch. The latter effortlessly blocked it with a raised hand and then, with a swift backhand, tore the Golem to shreds.

Inside the Starlight Wizard Tower, Su Nan watched this scene, his eyes flashing.

“Wizard-level puppet, huh?"

He chuckled lightly and issued an order.

"Deploy the Secret Puppet and Tentacle Puppet."

[Order received. Deploying Secret Puppet and Tentacle Puppet.]

A dazzling Magic Array appeared, and from it flew numerous Secret Puppets and Tentacle Puppets, streaking like shooting stars towards the Black Vein Bone Claw.

In terms of numbers, the Secret Puppets and Tentacle Puppets greatly outnumbered the Black Vein Bone Claw.

Individually, the strength of both the Secret Puppets and Tentacle Puppets was clearly beyond that of the Black Vein Bone Claw.

As a result, when they clashed, the Black Vein Bone Claw was swiftly routed, retreating and leaving the situation increasingly dire for Gloomy Throne.

However, the three Liams no longer paid attention to this; they stared wide-eyed at the Secret Puppets and Tentacle Puppets, their faces filled with astonishment.

These were the very puppets that had captured Evan!

Could it be that this Wizard Tower before them was constructed by a Wizard Faction from the Starlight Continent?

As soon as this thought crossed their minds, they unanimously dismissed it.

They were acutely aware of how difficult it was to build a Wizard Tower, with the required resources being an astronomical sum.

Many Wizard Organizations were not recognized as Wizard Factions precisely because they could not afford to construct a Wizard Tower.

The Starlight Continent, already lacking in resources, was even less likely to have enough to build one—not even a Small Wizard Tower.

Moreover, the Elemental Pool, Mystic Lock Defense Energy Field, and Spell Turrets of this Wizard Tower clearly exceeded the standards for a Small Wizard Tower.

But if that wasn’t the case, how could they explain this Wizard Tower and those Wizard-level Puppets?

For a moment, the minds of the three Liams were a chaotic mess.

It wasn’t until the Black Vein Bone Claw was completely wiped out by the Secret Puppets and Tentacle Puppets, and these Puppets turned to charge toward the Dark Wizard Tower, that the three Liams abruptly snapped back to reality.

“Quickly retreat! We are no match for that Wizard Tower!” the Dog-headed Wizard shouted in panic, his expression void of the confidence he had just moments before.

The power displayed by the Starlight Wizard Tower had shattered the sense of superiority he felt as a member of a Large Wizard Faction, replaced instead by deep-seated fear and shock.

The Bone-faced Wizard turned to Liam, his expression grim, and said, “Let’s retreat for now.”

It was clear that their Wizard Tower was completely outmatched by the opposing Wizard Tower, both in terms of defense and combat weaponry.

At that moment, the Energy Field was on the verge of collapse and could no longer hold back those Wizard Level Puppets; it wouldn’t be long before they broke through!

Once those Wizard Level Puppets stormed in, Liam might be able to escape, but the others would certainly lose their lives here.

The best course of action was to retreat, find a safe place to rest and regroup, then figure out a way to send word of the situation back to Gloomy Throne and await reinforcements.

Liam understood this instinctively, but the thought of abandoning their plan to acquire resources gave him pause.

However, compared to profit, life was ultimately more important. Liam quickly made up his mind and began to maneuver the Wizard Tower for an escape.

But just then, the top of a distant Starlight Wizard Tower suddenly ignited with a blinding light.

In the next second, a beam of light, much thicker than the previous Cursed Rune Ray, shot out with a roar, piercing the void like lightning and striking the Dark Wizard Tower!

Pfft!

A sound like a bubble bursting echoed through the air. Almost instantaneously, the Energy Field of the Dark Wizard Tower disintegrated. The beam of light struck the Wizard Tower unimpeded!

There was no roar, no explosion of flying debris. The section of the Dark Wizard Tower that was hit simply collapsed and vanished silently!

In an instant, a massive hole with a diameter of over ten meters opened in the middle of the Dark Wizard Tower!

This scene caused Liam and his companions to turn pale with terror.

"This is… a Disintegration Cannon?"

"No, how could a Disintegration Cannon possess such power?"

As the most powerful ranged strike device typically equipped on a Small Wizard Tower, the Disintegration Cannon was indeed formidable.

But it shouldn’t have been this powerful!

The Dark Wizard Tower was also equipped with a Disintegration Cannon and had fired it once earlier, but it had completely failed to break through the Energy Field of the opposing Wizard Tower.

In contrast, the power of the opposing Wizard Tower's Disintegration Cannon far exceeded that of the Dark Wizard Tower's!

While the Dark Wizard Tower was interrupted in its escape, the Secret Puppet and Tentacle Puppet scrambled to rush into the Wizard Tower.

Liam and his companions could only hear continuous rumbling from below, and soon enough, the floor shattered. A group of Wizard-Level Puppets surged upwards, attacking them fiercely.

"Damn it!"

The Dog-headed Wizard cursed inwardly but had no choice but to brace himself for the assault. The skull dog head on his neck suddenly detached, swelling rapidly in the wind to become a gigantic skull head, its jaws snapping shut toward the Puppet.

Meanwhile, the flesh of the Bone-faced Wizard melted away like butter under heat, revealing a ghastly white skeletal frame. Each bone radiated an eerie, faint light, presenting a disturbing sight.

The Tentacle Puppet's tentacle lashed against the skeleton, producing a metallic clang, yet it left the Bone-faced Wizard unscathed.

With a swift motion, the Bone-faced Wizard grabbed the tentacle and, with a sudden jerk, ripped it apart with a sickening crunch.

Both the Dog-headed Wizard and the Bone-faced Wizard were First Grade Crystallization Wizards, and with Liam, a second-tier Liquefaction Wizard on their side, the trio was more than capable of handling the siege from over ten Wizard-Level Puppets.

However, they all understood that the true threat was not those Puppets.

As if to affirm their suspicions, a massive silver palm suddenly erupted from the hole in the floor, seizing the Dog-headed Wizard, who couldn't dodge in time.

Seeing the situation worsen, the giant skull head quickly turned to come to the rescue, but a booming sound echoed as the floor below shattered once again, and another silver giant palm shot out, capturing it firmly.

In the next instant, both silver giant palms clenched shut. A series of snapping cracks followed, mixed with a short, agonizing scream, before all fell silent.

When the silver giant palms finally opened, they revealed a pile of shattered bones and a heap of unrecognizable flesh on the ground.

Boom!

The floor suddenly exploded, widening the gap, and a Silver Giant slowly ascended from below.

Before it had even fully come to a halt, the Bone-faced Wizard was already attacking from behind. At some unknown moment, two White Bone hands had sprouted sharp, chilling claws that emanated a palpable aura of Death, tearing toward the Silver Giant!

Buzz!

The void seemed to tremble as an overwhelming force—heavy beyond measure—suddenly descended, engulfing the entire hall!

Regardless of friend or foe, everyone's movements were involuntarily hindered for a moment.

The Bone-faced Wizard, closest to the Silver Giant, felt as if they were sinking into mud. Their lightning-fast movements visibly slowed, and even the Soul flames in their empty eye sockets flickered more slowly!

At that moment, the Silver Giant abruptly turned, its two hands clasping around the Bone-faced Wizard. It then squirmed, twisting and transforming into a silver liquid sphere that completely enveloped the figure.

The next second, the sphere began to spin rapidly, producing a dense sound as if turbine blades were slicing through matter at high speed, making one’s scalp tingle!

When the liquid sphere shattered and dissipated, the original spot was completely empty. The Bone-faced Wizard had vanished without a trace, not even leaving behind ashes—utterly ground into nothingness.

The battle unfolded so suddenly and ended so quickly that Liam didn’t even have time to shake off the Puppet's entanglement to offer support. Two of his comrades had already been killed.

As he watched this unfold, a chill ran down his spine, as if he had been plunged into an ice cave.

The strength of the Bone-faced Wizard and Dog-headed Wizard was not weak. He could have faced them both and potentially defeated them, but he certainly couldn't have done so with such ease, as if he were crushing two ants.

This suddenly appearing Wizard's strength had clearly surpassed his own by leaps and bounds!

"Who are you?!" Liam gritted his teeth and roared in rage.

However, the other party completely ignored him.

Within the Silver Giant's body, wisps of Silver Light suddenly illuminated the space. These beams intertwined and intersected, forming unique patterns infused with an inexplicable rhythm.

"Alchemy Imprint!"

As a Second Level Wizard, Liam recognized the origin of the patterns at a glance, and his expression changed drastically.

In an instant, the oppressive Heavy Pressure that had originally enveloped him surged several levels higher.

Even with the protection of magical items and energy particles, Liam felt an overwhelming strain, as if his body would be crushed into pulp in the next moment.

In shock, he immediately activated the Wizard Tool in his possession.

Countless black wisps of smoke materialized, forming a blurry humanoid shadow behind Liam.

The shadow was tall and burly, exuding a terrifying presence akin to that of a Demon God, its only discernible features being two glowing scarlet eyes.

After manifesting, its gaze swept the surroundings, quickly locking onto the Silver Giant before taking a swift step forward, instantly appearing in front of him and delivering a downward fist.

Though the attack was a simple motion, it emanated a terrifying pressure that felt as if a mountain were collapsing upon everything in its path.

However, for the Silver Giant, the pressure from the black shadow felt like a gentle breeze, incapable of leaving any impact.

With the enhancement of strange patterns, the Silver Giant unleashed a single punch, obliterating the black shadow that could easily crush an ordinary Level One Wizard into scattered ashes.

Following this, the Silver Giant took a giant stride, instantly arriving before Liam, and slammed his colossal fist down!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The Silver Giant unleashed punch after punch, simple yet decisive, leaving Liam utterly powerless to retaliate.

The overwhelming pressure enveloping him pinned him in place, forcing him to desperately endure the enemy's relentless attacks.

With each impact, another protective spell or magical item on Liam shattered.

Once all of his magical items were destroyed and his spiritual power was depleted, he could only rely on his physical body to withstand the assault.

After just three punches, Liam lay on the ground, bloodied and battered.

It was only then that the Silver Giant finally ceased his onslaught.

Whoosh!

The silver form quickly shrank, revealing the figure within.

The silver liquid seeped into his pores and vanished, unveiling the complete figure of the young man.

He appeared to be in his early twenties.

As he looked at the young man before him, a realization dawned on Liam.

The source of all the abnormal changes in the Starlight Continent seems to be this person!

It was a pity that this thought was the last to cross his mind.

The next instant, a silver light pierced through his brow.

Boundless darkness and a tide surged forth, engulfing his consciousness.
