Chapter 251: A True Powerhouse is Never Limited by Their Environment
After confirming that the life aura of his enemy had completely dissipated, Su Nan retracted his palm, nodding to himself in quiet approval.
He had taken action personally for two reasons. First, he didn’t want to cause excessive damage to the Wizard Tower, as he intended to preserve it for study before dismantling it into materials for future upgrades to his Starlight Wizard Tower. If he couldn’t avoid damaging the Wizard Tower, then he had no choice but to eliminate the one controlling it. The second reason was that encountering a Second Level Wizard was a rare opportunity, and Su Nan wanted to seize this chance to test the might of his 【Talent Specialization】.
After two rounds of upgrades, breaking through the second tier of Liquefaction and achieving Second Level Crystallization, the strengthening effect of the 【Talent Specialization】 on his innate ability had roughly doubled. The enhanced power of his 『Liquid Metal』 and 『Absolute Forbidden Zone』 did not disappoint, as they effortlessly crushed the second-tier Liquefaction Wizard.
The only thing that left Su Nan with a slight sense of regret was that his enemy had been too weak, falling before he could even deploy his third innate ability. Otherwise, he had wanted to test the power of 『Falling Star Rain』.
Snapping back to attention, Su Nan took the three extracted Wizard Souls and crafted them into Soul Crystals on the spot, gathering them along with the Space Ring before beginning his investigation of the Wizard Tower. Although the three wizards of the Gloomy Throne were dead, the Tower Spirit was still faithfully executing its program to eliminate intruders, constantly summoning puppets from within the tower.
Su Nan simply destroyed the crystal ball housing the Tower Spirit, and the Wizard Tower fell completely silent, slowly descending towards the ground. After that, Su Nan searched the Wizard Tower from top to bottom.
Perhaps because this Wizard Tower had been built specifically for combat, there weren’t many resources stored inside; mostly just common potions and metals, among other items. Books were also few and far between.
Su Nan felt a bit disappointed but quickly set that aside. The Wizard Tower itself was the greatest prize! Once he had studied it, he would dismantle the Wizard Tower into materials. Combined with the materials from dismantling Falling Star City, he would be almost halfway to gathering the resources needed to upgrade to an intermediate Wizard Tower.
The Dark Wizard Tower was devoid of life; even the Tower Spirit had been destroyed and could now be placed into the Magic Cube. Su Nan directly stored the Wizard Tower away and returned to the Starlight Wizard Tower.
Having watched the entire battle, Lize was filled with emotion. Although she had known from the start that the Gloomy Throne's vanguard was no match for Su Nan, witnessing his effortless victory still made her sigh inwardly. Elemental Desert's Starlight Continent was a poor hand, yet the way it was played so remarkably by Su Nan was nothing short of miraculous.
Before long, Su Nan returned to the Starlight Wizard Tower. Lize gathered her thoughts and asked with a smile, "Did you find anything of value?"
Su Nan shook his head. "Besides the Wizard Tower, there is only one first-order Wizard Tool of some worth; the rest are barely better than nothing."
Lize pursed her lips in a smile. "After all, they belonged to the Gloomy Throne. They heavily exploit lower-level Wizards, so it's only natural that their possessions are not plentiful."
After a pause, Lize's expression turned slightly stern as she asked, "What do we do next?"
Su Nan pondered briefly before responding. "Our actions were swift; we eliminated the vanguard immediately. They shouldn't have had time to transmit information back to the Gloomy Throne about what happened here, so it is unlikely they will send anyone else in the short term. However, if they don't receive any news for an extended period, they may send more people to investigate. We just need to keep an eye on Star Eye. Once we detect any intruders, we will eliminate them immediately."
Lize nodded slightly. With the Star Alliance's current strength, as long as the Gloomy Throne doesn't dispatch a Medium Wizard Tower or a Level 3 Wizard, there should be practically no threat to the Star Alliance. They can simply eliminate whoever comes. The key concern is how to deal with the Gloomy Throne's anger once the Plane blockade is lifted.
“Let’s go, it’s time to head back; there’s still plenty to do,” Su Nan said.
The matter regarding the Gloomy Throne had come to a close.
With this experience, the Star Alliance had gained valuable insight into dealing with foreign invasions. The subsequent matters could be entrusted to Lize.
Unless confronted with a formidable enemy requiring his personal attention, he could dedicate all his energy to cultivation and upgrading the Wizard Tower.
Underworld, Youhu City.
In the central stone pillar palace, within the corridor, Tanna stood by the window, gazing at the Purple Demon Fire that burned on the stalactite above, a thoughtful expression on his face.
It had been over two hundred years since he arrived on this continent, and he had gradually grown accustomed to life here.
Though it was somewhat disappointing not to explore new planes, it was quite fascinating to witness the thriving development of the Starlight Continent, growing stronger year by year.
The Star Alliance's attitude toward him was favorable. Aside from a strange dimensional space called Long Lin, which he was not allowed to enter, there were no other restrictions on him.
He had even been granted exclusive access to a laboratory, a meditation room, and a spell cultivation room here in Base 2, and he was allowed to exchange knowledge for cultivation resources.
For this, Tanna was very grateful.
However, recently, he had sensed that something was off.
The Star Alliance seemed to be facing some kind of situation, frequently mobilizing troops and wizards.
Though the signs weren't very obvious, Tanna, located in the core territory of the Star Alliance, keenly noticed them.
It felt as though the Star Alliance was on guard against the imminent arrival of some enemies.
Just now, he had suddenly felt an extremely powerful energy particle fluctuation erupt.
Judging by the direction, it should be on the surface.
He could feel it even through the thick rock shell, which revealed just how intense that energy particle fluctuation was!
"Second level… no, a second-level wizard battle shouldn't have this kind of intensity."
"Could it be a level-three wizard? Or perhaps a Wizard Tower?"
Although he couldn't discern Su Nan's power level, Tanna felt that the other party shouldn't yet be at the level-three wizard stage.
As for the Wizard Tower, Tanna had never encountered one in the Starlight Continent, and given its environment, it seemed unlikely that a Wizard Tower could be constructed there.
Therefore, this energy particle fluctuation should not have been generated by the Star Alliance.
"But if it wasn't Star Alliance, then what was it?"
Tanna felt an urge to investigate the location where the Energy Particles had erupted, but Youhu City—and indeed, the entire Underworld—had recently imposed a ban.
Without permission, no Wizard or Legion was allowed to leave their respective cities; they were to remain stationed in place.
Although Tanna wasn't a member of Star Alliance, he too was bound by the restrictions of this ban.
In fact, precisely because he wasn't a member of Star Alliance, he found himself even more constrained.
Fortunately, the ban was lifted a little over an hour later.
Soon, someone came to inform Tanna that he was free to move about.
"Please wait a moment."
Just as the individual was about to leave, Tanna stopped him. After briefly recalling in his mind, he quickly remembered the person's name; it seemed he was also one of the Wizards from Star Alliance.
"Lord Fleming, may I ask what exactly happened just now?"
Fleming smiled slightly, "Mr. Tanna, did you notice that Energy Particle Fluctuation just now?"
Seeing Tanna nod, Fleming pondered before continuing, "Given that it's you, Mr. Tanna, it wouldn't hurt to share. You'll find out soon enough anyway.
"Enemies have just invaded Starlight Continent, but Master Sunan dealt with it personally."
Enemies have invaded!
Tanna was shocked and instinctively questioned, "Isn't the lockdown of Starlight Continent still in effect? How could outside beings possibly get in?"
Since the term 'invade' was used, it implied they hadn't entered Starlight Continent through some chance encounter, as he had, but had deliberately crossed the Dimensional Barrier.
"That's correct," Fleming shrugged. "Ordinary beings certainly can't enter Starlight Continent, but the ones that came were from Gloomy Throne. They established anchor points on this continent, and as long as they were willing to pay the price, they could enter Starlight Continent at the nodes where the Dimensional Barrier is nearing repair."
"Are you saying it's Gloomy Throne?"
Tanna's expression changed slightly, his shock deepening.
Of course, he was aware of Gloomy Throne; they were one of the most infamous Large Wizard Factions in the Multiverse!
But he never expected that it would be Gloomy Throne that had invaded Starlight Continent!
---
But soon, he recalled what Su Nan had told him about the events of two thousand years ago, and after a moment's reflection, he understood. It seemed Gloomy Throne had set its sights on Starlight Continent, eager to seize it before the plane blockade was lifted. Given Gloomy Throne's modus operandi, it wasn't surprising they would attempt something like this.
After hesitating, Tanna couldn't help but ask, "What about the Energy Particle Fluctuation we just experienced?"
Fleming didn't withhold any information, responding truthfully, "Gloomy Throne deployed a Wizard Tower."
"Wizard Tower!" Tanna exclaimed in shock.
It wasn't merely the fact that Gloomy Throne had deployed a Wizard Tower; according to Fleming, it appeared that Star Alliance had actually managed to secure victory under these circumstances! How was that even possible?
A Wizard Tower couldn't be dealt with via sheer numbers; if they couldn't win, they could only retreat. Even if Star Alliance had hundreds of Wizard-Level Puppets, it seemed implausible that they could defeat Gloomy Throne's Wizard Tower!
Unless Star Alliance somehow also possessed a Wizard Tower! But given the conditions on Starlight Continent, how could they possibly construct one?
Then again, Tanna recalled that if Su Nan could establish Star Alliance, a Wizard Faction, on his own, then perhaps building a Wizard Tower wasn't entirely out of reach. Hadn't that man already achieved enough miracles?
For a moment, Tanna found himself filled with doubt and uncertainty. Despite his hesitation, he couldn't resist asking, "Does Star Alliance also have a Wizard Tower?"
Upon hearing this, Fleming smiled but did not directly answer. Instead, he said, "In another ten years or so, the plane blockade will be lifted. By then, Mr. Tanna, you will be able to leave this place. Don't worry; Gloomy Throne's affairs won't involve you."
"I still have things to do, so I won't keep you company. Farewell."
With that, Fleming turned and left. Though he hadn’t provided a clear answer, his demeanor conveyed much.
Tanna stood there, stunned, for a long time. Eventually, he let out a sigh. "Indeed, true powerhouses are never constrained by their environment."
After dealing with Gloomy Throne's affairs, Su Nan dedicated himself once more to the construction of the Talent Crystal Model.
---
With ample Construct Potion, the entire construction process went very smoothly.
It only took a year and three months for Su Nan to successfully create the Talent Crystal Model of the "Falling Star Rain."
Deep within the Sea of Consciousness, a magnificent hollow crystal body was added.
"Next, I need to fill it with Spiritual Power."
Su Nan sat cross-legged beside the Elemental Pool, calming his mind and focusing on infusing it with Spiritual Power.
This cultivation lasted a full month.
【Talent Crystal Model Filling Progress: 0.01%】
"One month, and I've only managed to fill 0.01% of the Spiritual Power."
Su Nan shook his head inwardly.
At this rate, it would take nearly eight hundred years to completely fill the Talent Crystal Model.
This was with the concentration of Energy Particles in the Starlight Continent almost back to its peak, along with the Large Elemental Pool buff, highlighting just how time-consuming it was to fill the Spiritual Power of the third Talent Crystal Model.
"This efficiency is too slow. I need to find a way to speed up the filling."
A thoughtful look appeared in Su Nan's eyes.
After the blockade of the Starlight Continent Plane is lifted, he could trade resources with other Wizard Factions and acquire items like Spirit Pearls, which could expedite the recovery of Spiritual Power.
However, Su Nan didn't hold high hopes for this.
After all, such resources are rare, in high demand, and few Wizard Factions are willing to sell to outsiders.
Even if he were lucky enough to purchase some, the amount would barely make a dent compared to the Spiritual Power required for filling.
Unless he joined a Wizard Faction.
Similar to the students at the Starlight Academy, who can use Contribution Points to acquire numerous resources that aren't available outside.
"There is another way: I can continue to upgrade the Elemental Pool."
Generally, the Large Elemental Pool is already the highest-level Elemental Pool, with the next tier being the Elemental Furnace.
However, the Elemental Furnace is the energy supply device used by the Floating City. Su Nan currently lacks the ability and resources to manufacture it.
But while others can't continue to improve the Large Elemental Pool, it isn't an issue for him.
As long as he continues to invest in the Small Element Pools for synthesis, he can keep upgrading and enhancing its effects.
"Fortunately, Star Alliance's income has increased significantly now; it should be no problem to set aside a portion for upgrading the Elemental Pool."
Su Nan had a plan in mind.
It just so happened that, once the Elemental Pool is upgraded, it would also enhance the long-range firepower of the Starlight Wizard Tower.
The battle with the Dark Wizard Tower had already demonstrated the formidable power of the Spell Turret Type II and the Disintegration Cannon Type II.
If Su Nan desired, they could take down the Dark Wizard Tower without even deploying the Golem Legion; their firepower alone would suffice.
The only drawback was the immense Energy consumption required by those two weapons. Even after improvements to reduce consumption, the amount used was still considerable.
Three rounds of fire from three hundred Spell Turret Type IIs, combined with a single shot from the Disintegration Cannon Type II, had drained almost half of the Wizard Tower's Energy.
This approach was manageable against the Small Wizard Tower, but when facing the Medium and Large Wizard Towers, the limitation of insufficient sustained firepower would become evident.
Upgrading the Elemental Pool could remedy this issue.
"It just so happens that the Wizard Tower will soon undergo upgrades and renovations, allowing us to address the Elemental Pool problem smoothly."
