Chapter 303: Crystal Core

"I'm leaving." A few days later, Chris Ding felt that her injuries were no longer serious, and there was no point in staying here anymore, so she proactively proposed leaving to Leon.

Although her coup in Florence failed, she still retained some loyal subordinates. Before leaving Florence, she also issued urgent orders for her subordinates who participated in the attack on the Papal Palace to immediately retreat and preserve their strength.

Therefore, what Chris Ding needed to do now was to re-integrate these forces, then lead them to leave the Eurasian continent, start anew in the United States, and continue striving for revenge. As a Super-class Mage, she would be a prominent figure anywhere she went.

As a superpower, the United States possessed sufficient autonomous power; Bai Mo and the Huaxia Federation behind him couldn't extend their reach here.

As for the young man before her, she would simply regard him as a beautiful memory.

"Goodbye." Leon waved his hand, reluctantly bidding farewell to Chris Ding. He also knew that this poor, remote place where he lived definitely couldn't keep the goddess of his heart; she was merely a passerby, having only arrived here due to a temporary misfortune.

"Even though I have nothing now, someday I will stand before you and propose myself." After Chris Ding left, he held the faintly scented cross she had given him and secretly swore.

Just a few days of acquaintance had completely captivated Leon, but the enormous disparity in their status and power left him without the courage to ask her to stay.

After the beautiful and captivating goddess left, Leon immediately felt that his life had completely lost its luster. The few girls his age in the village were utterly incomparable to her, and his days became listless.

"Sigh, it seems I truly can't forget her."

While making lunch, the solitary man accidentally cut his finger, and a few drops of his blood happened to splatter onto the pendant hanging from Leon's chest.

Just then, a strange change occurred!

"RQ-102314 Crystal Core undergoing self-diagnosis... Functionality 13% normal... Initiating user binding... Mental fluctuation detection in progress..." The pendant suddenly emitted a language he had never heard before, and then, as a mental wave appeared in Leon's mind, he roughly understood what he had just obtained.

This was an intelligent Crystal Core from another civilization, which had arrived on this planet seven years ago due to spacetime dislocation. Its main functions were to assist the host in thinking, store memories, and enhance cognitive abilities to a certain extent. Unfortunately, it was severely damaged, with only a fraction of its functions remaining.

About three months ago, his father, who had spent his entire life hunting in the mountains, passed away. On his deathbed, he had given Leon a pendant made of a strange material, saying he didn't know what it was, but he had a feeling it was definitely something good, telling Leon to keep it safe in the future. So, Leon had always worn it on his chest.

"According to what Father said back then, he saw a streak of light fall from the sky onto the neighboring small mountain, right around the day the whole world went to fight aliens. Could this be a treasure left by aliens?"

With his mind becoming more active, Leon quickly made the connection. Although he was just a country boy, the matter of all the great sorcerers in the Alliance going to fight aliens had spread like wildfire at the time. Even at the age of twelve, he, along with a group of friends, had rarely gathered around the village chief's television to watch the news.

Within the Latin Alliance, the high-ranking cultivators in power were referred to as "Sorcerers" by the locals. Centered around their various Sorcerer Towers, large and small, they formed a sorcerer alliance that governed all of Latin America.

"With this, maybe in the next Sorcerer Apprentice examination, I'll be able to claim first place and become a disciple of one of the Sorcerer Kings." Leon began to fantasize about himself dominating the examination and seizing the crown. "It's a pity Father won't be able to see this," he thought.

The entire Latin Alliance, being merely an alliance formed by multiple countries to counter the United States, their common objective, found it difficult to elect a leader who could subdue everyone. Everyday governmental affairs were still managed separately. There were a total of eleven Sorcerer Kings, each governing a region and named after a color.

To expand their respective forces and continuously absorb fresh blood, every six months, the entire Latin Alliance would hold a nationwide Sorcerer Apprentice examination, admitting a portion of talented young people to join them.

The most promising among them would become apprentices of one of the eleven Sorcerer King Towers, nurtured as direct subordinates by these most powerful individuals.

Besides these eleven Sorcerer Kings, there were also three uncrowned kings. They governed no land, yet held positions of high esteem within the Alliance, just like the other eleven. One was the Golden Sorcerer King, one the Black Sorcerer King, and the last was the White Sorcerer King. These three were respectively the avatars of Chen Bo, Yun Jie, and Bai Mo.

As the behind-the-scenes supporter who single-handedly facilitated the establishment of the Latin Alliance, the Huaxia Federation wielded considerable influence in the region. They were also interested in other civilizations' thoughts on Spirit Qi, which ultimately led to the establishment of these three Sorcerer Towers to foster exchange with local cultivators.

Every year, the three Sorcerer Towers would admit a group of young people from Huaxia, who would study some of the Latin Alliance's basic cultivation courses as exchange students. Naturally, these matters were handled by their subordinates, while the three high and mighty individuals rarely made an appearance.

However, these were matters only known to the core members of the Latin Alliance. Ordinary people knew nothing else, apart from the fact that these three Sorcerer Towers rarely recruited outsiders.

Such instances of using avatars to learn from and secretly imitate others were actually happening all over the world; the only difference was the scale. Within the Huaxia Federation, there were also many avatars of experts from other forces, and even in some relatively less important departments of the Spirit Energy Research Institute, there were foreigners. However, everyone adhered to one bottom line: no interference in politics.

The leaders of various factions tacitly understood this, as they themselves were the greatest beneficiaries. The collision of ideas between different civilizations brought forth a wealth of new insights, expanding the narrow paths they had initially carved out.

Chris Ding, who was preparing to leave the Latin Alliance at this time, naturally had no idea that she had missed such a huge treasure. She simply couldn't imagine that a random country boy she encountered possessed such a precious Crystal Core.

Perhaps if she had stayed a few more days, Leon, who was already completely smitten, might have inadvertently revealed the matter of this pendant. Alas, there are no 'what ifs' in this world.

PS1: I recommend my friend, King Fu Lai Ge's new book, 'Full Reality Game'. It has a fun setting, somewhat similar to 'Card Master'. Those interested can check it out.

PS2: Also, I recommend my friend 'I Am a Banished Immortal's' new book, 'Infinite Movie Slaughter'. It's a new infinite data flow novel. Those interested can also check it out.
