Chapter 82-2: Anti-Tide Reserve Trainees (2)

Li Zheng and the others, upon receiving the mission prompt, did not disappoint him. Under Broken Star’s puzzled gaze, they suddenly expressed great eagerness to join the Anti-Tide Legion.

This was a complete reversal from their previously indifferent attitude during earlier conversations.

Faced with the unpredictable and whimsical logic of the player race, Broken Star, who had already prepared a speech, was caught off guard.

Nevertheless, he was quite pleased that the player race members had agreed.

Through his observations over these days, he had seen enormous growth potential in the player race. If their performance earned approval from higher authorities, the Anti-Tide Legion could gain a new force with limitless potential.

“Let’s depart now.” As he spoke, Broken Star slowly floated into the air.

“Where to? We can’t fly. Can we walk instead?”

Broken Star: “…”

A few minutes later, Elder You followed Broken Star to where Li Zheng and the others were waiting. With a wave of his hand, an invisible force enveloped them, lifting them toward a spatial black hole swirling in the distant sky.

During the flight, Li Zheng and the others chatted in the voice channel about their destination.

When the topic turned to how they would explain disappearing into the game world and returning to reality while inside the training camp, Guide suddenly interjected.

Guide: You can explain that your bodies are being drawn back to your homeland by the power of your race and are teleported at certain times, then returned here at an unknown point in time.

Game Gold-Farmer: Is that explanation safe?

Guide: It’s safe. They won’t find any flaws or be able to prove anything by any means.

Murderous Intent Rising: Then we’ll go with that. Let’s give them a heads-up later.

While chatting, the Grind Kings Player Chat Group followed Elder You through a colorful spatial tunnel.

The scene before them looked like a fairyland.

Snowflakes fell heavily, almost obscuring their vision. In the distance stood towering white snow-capped mountains, and at the foot of the mountains, a small city could be vaguely seen.

A frigid wind howled past their ears, and as their view drew closer, the blurry outline of the city gradually became clear. The neatly arranged buildings stood in stark contrast against the surrounding snowy mountains.

At the city’s edge, a clear, winding river flowed, unfrozen despite the freezing valley. Wisps of light mist rose from the surface, mingling with the falling snow, blurring the boundary between heaven and earth.

Looking up at the sky.

Li Zheng was surprised to see that instead of the Evil Moon in the outside world, a golden sun hovered in the sky here.

This confirmed that the area had not yet been taken over by the terrifying Black Tide.

Their view suddenly dropped, and they began descending toward the small city.

Before they landed, several streams of light shot toward them from various directions within the city.

“Elder You.”

As they landed, several figures respectfully greeted Elder You.

Elder You nodded in response, then turned to Broken Star.

“Get them familiar with the area, then return with me to Black Valley. They’ll stay here for training.”

“Yes.”

Broken Star respectfully nodded, then led Li Zheng and the others toward a corner of the city.

Along the way, Broken Star began introducing the background of this city.

The city was called Snow Valley and was one of 500 first-phase training camps for the Anti-Tide Legion’s new generation of warriors.

Only warriors who passed the first-phase training assessment here would qualify to enter the second-phase training camp.

The Reserve Warrior training was divided into five phases. Only those who passed all assessments and completed their trial missions would officially become warriors of the Anti-Tide Legion.

Listening to Broken Star’s introduction, Li Zheng and the others curiously examined their surroundings.

The architecture here was completely different from Earth’s, most notably its grand scale and majestic appearance. There was no streamlined beauty, only vertical lines, with black stone used as building material.

Solemn, solid, and austere, these were the players’ most immediate impressions of the city’s architecture.

After an hour’s walk, they arrived at a black-colored bungalow. Broken Star turned to them.

“You’ll live here from now on. Specific training requirements will be taught by specialized instructors… but before I leave, I must warn you of a few survival rules here.”

“First, every 15 days, a new batch of recruits arrives. They are elite newcomers selected from various races. If you want to stand out, you must work hard and complete every task assigned by your combat instructors. Otherwise, you’ll be eliminated during training.”

“Second, when interacting with members of other races, never show weakness. You must be fiercer and more aggressive than them. This place follows the law of the jungle, encouraging competition between trainees. The weak will always be bullied, that’s an unchanging rule here. Even if you’re no match for your opponent, you must bravely face them, at least showing the instructors your courage, not cowardice.”

“Finally, hold your bottom line. Although the camp encourages competition and combat, fatal incidents are strictly forbidden. The consequences for breaking this taboo are extremely severe.”

“Here, you may be competitors during training, but in the future, you will stand together on the battlefield as comrades.”

With that, Broken Star patted Li Zheng on the shoulder.

“I believe you’ll pass the training. I’ll be waiting for you in the Anti-Tide Legion.”

After finishing his words, Broken Star turned into a streak of light and flew toward Elder You’s location.

Li Zheng and the others exchanged looks before filing into the room.

Inside the bungalow were ten wooden beds and a single wooden storage cabinet, nothing else.

As they waited, Li Zheng opened the forum interface and posted a thread.

In his post, he described how he triggered the mission and arrived at the Anti-Tide Legion.

Upon learning this, many players requested that Li Zheng start a livestream so they could observe the Anti-Tide Legion through his perspective.

Li Zheng did not disappoint the forum players. He promptly started streaming, figuring he might even earn some extra donations.

Time passed as they waited.
