Chapter 82-1: Anti-Tide Reserve Trainees (1)

Emperor’s Mound Mountain Range.

The once rampaging Black Tide had begun to pull back its frontlines, retreating into a state of dormant development, once again breeding Evil Entities.

The appearance of the Iron Soul Warriors had clearly dealt a significant psychological blow to Dinian, forcing him to alter the expansion strategy.

However, the player legions had no intention of letting the Black Tide off the hook, continuing to advance toward the Abyss of Heaven Territory Node and other nodes.

At this moment, in the Blood-Soaked Plains region.

Suddenly, a pitch-black rift tore open in the sky, and a figure emerged from the spatial vortex.

The arriving figure was humanoid, bald, nearly three meters tall. Its body was not covered with skin, but with a layer of dark blue luminous scales, giving it an extremely domineering appearance.

After descending into the Blood-Soaked Plains, its gaze instantly swept toward the southwest before disappearing in a flash.

Several kilometers away.

Broken Star was chewing on Ragehorn meat while holding a spiritual ore, attempting to assemble a communication crystal.

But due to his poor skills, every attempt ended in failure.

This attempt was no exception.

With a crisp shattering sound, the spiritual ore in Broken Star’s hand broke apart, its structure completely collapsing.

Looking at the broken crystal, Broken Star couldn’t help but sigh.

At that moment, he suddenly sensed a strong energy fluctuation approaching.

He immediately placed his hand on the energy core connected to his heart, preparing to enter combat mode.

But before he could activate the energy core, a burly figure appeared before him.

Startled, Broken Star instinctively tensed, but upon recognizing the newcomer, his wariness turned to joy, mixed with a hint of shame.

“Elder You.” Broken Star stood up and greeted respectfully.

The burly man standing before him was none other than the chief examiner for this trial and the highest authority of the Reserve Legion to which he belonged.

“Broken Star, where are the black crystals?” Elder You asked directly.

Facing Elder You’s question, Broken Star felt embarrassed. Taking a deep breath, he solemnly replied.

“Elder You, my trial encountered some unforeseen problems…”

Before Broken Star could finish, Elder You interrupted him expressionlessly:

“I don’t want to hear the reason. I asked you, where are the black crystals?”

“My trial failed.”

“As the strongest newcomer of the Celestial Rune race’s new generation, the top seed of the Reserve, you’re telling me you failed your trial?”

“Yes, I failed,” Broken Star answered respectfully.

“Not only did you fail, but you clearly also lost your shuttle.”

“Yes.” Broken Star lowered his head, like a child admitting fault before a parent.

“If it weren’t for my relationship with your ancestor, I wouldn’t have come to pick you up. Come with me and prepare for a second assessment.”

As Elder You spoke, he raised his right hand and placed it on Broken Star’s shoulder.

Realizing Elder You was about to take him back, Broken Star quickly spoke up.

“Elder You, wait.”

Seeing Elder You look at him with a hint of confusion, Broken Star began explaining what he had discovered while investigating this area, focusing on the player race, a mysterious faction with unique abilities.

After listening, a thoughtful look appeared in Elder You’s eyes.

“If this player race truly has the potential you describe, we can consider inviting them to join the Anti-Tide Legion. But you’ll need to use your Celestial Rune race’s extra recruitment slot.”

“Alright, I’ll use my Celestial Rune slot.”

“You’re the future of the Celestial Rune race. That recruitment slot is extremely precious, and you’re just giving it away like that?”

“For the Anti-Tide.”

Seeing the determination in Broken Star’s eyes, Elder You smiled slightly.

“I’ll wait here. Go select ten player race members to join the first phase of the Reserve Training Camp. If they prove their potential during training, I’ll consider inviting this race into the Anti-Tide.”

“Thank you for your trust, Elder. I’ll go immediately.”

After Elder You gave his consent, Broken Star respectfully nodded, then turned into a streak of light and flew off into the distance.

Scanning the surroundings as he traveled.

Broken Star’s figure finally landed before a small team of players.

This ten-person player team was none other than the familiar Grind Kings Player Chat Group.

They were also, in Broken Star’s eyes, one of the fastest-growing groups among the player race.

Seeing Broken Star, Li Zheng and the others, who were in the middle of a hunt, were first startled. Then smiles broke out uncontrollably across their faces.

“God of Wealth, you’ve come… empty-handed?” Dirt Poor greeted him but quickly shifted to the main topic halfway through his words.

Veins bulging on his forehead, Broken Star resisted the urge to punch him dead on the spot and spoke in a calm tone.

“Do you still remember what I told you before about joining the Anti-Tide Legion?”

“I remember,” Li Zheng immediately nodded.

“I have ten recruitment slots in my hand. I am now formally inviting you to join the first phase training camp of the Anti-Tide Legion’s Reserve. Are you interested?”

Just as Li Zheng was about to reply, a Challenger Notification suddenly rang out in his mind.

[Challenger Notification: Special Mission ‘Anti-Tide Warrior’ triggered]

Mission Requirement: Join the Anti-Tide Legion Reserve Assessment and pass the evaluation.

Mission Reward: Issued according to the assessment progress; completing the assessment grants generous rewards.

At that moment, behind the scenes, Qi Sheng was observing and had learned that Broken Star was attempting to recruit Li Zheng and the others into the Anti-Tide Legion.

Before Li Zheng could give a definite reply, Qi Sheng immediately issued the mission.

His reason for doing so was to use the Grind Kings Player Chat Group as scouts to gather information on the Anti-Tide Legion and probe into this faction’s details.

Since they were both on the Pale Continent, determining whether the Anti-Tide Legion was friend or foe was very important to him.

It would dictate his next steps in planning.
