Chapter 324

The monster that attacked Jill was naturally the “Revenant” from the game Resident Evil 3, the big boss who can’t be killed until the very end.

Compared to the movie version, the game version of the Revenant is incredibly more powerful.

This is also why Josh had given Jill far more “gifts” than usual in the trade from the start.

Because he wasn’t sure if Jill could really, as in the original storyline, ultimately successfully slay this “Revenant”...since once Jill connected to the dimensional trade system, her fate has already changed.

Unless Josh wanted to trade with someone else, it was better to give the other party more ability to survive.

“What exactly is this thing?” Facing the fallen Revenant, Jill cautiously approached, and after seeing that the Revenant’s head had been blasted apart by an energy rifle and was definitely dead, she finally breathed a sigh of relief and asked Josh.

“The Revenant, a product of Umbrella Corporation’s Avenger project, created to eliminate all STARS members in Raccoon City...” Josh casually explained the Revenant’s origin.

“How do you know so much about my world?” Jill asked curiously.

“Because you’re not the first Jill Valentine I know!” For such a relatively low-level world, Josh didn’t bother hiding much and directly explained the situation of another Resident Evil world. Of course, he didn’t mention the movie or game versions explicitly, just muddled it with the parallel universe theory.

“Fascinating! If I get the chance, I’d really like to meet the versions of myself from other worlds. By the way, thanks a lot. If it weren’t for you, I’d probably be dead here.” Jill sighed.

“No big deal, just providing a bit of early-stage protection for a partner. But don’t relax just yet, you still have many things to deal with!” Josh waved his hand.

“Many things to deal with? Why?” Jill asked puzzled.

“You don’t really think this thing showing up means Raccoon City will be safe, do you? Why don’t you listen to what’s going on outside?” Josh shrugged.

“...The whole city...Damn, I have to stop all this!” Hearing Josh’s words, Jill’s expression changed immediately. She opened a window and heard citizens’ terrified screams, gunfire, explosions, and other chaotic noises, quickly realizing Raccoon City was facing a massive crisis.

“You’re overthinking it. The virus has already spread throughout Raccoon City. Unless you completely destroy the entire city, there’s no way to stop it — and I have to tell you, you have at most three days before the U.S. government decides to completely destroy Raccoon City.” Josh said.

“No...this can’t be true. Isn’t there any other way?” Jill looked utterly incredulous.

“…There is one way: I could lend you an army to thoroughly eliminate the infection sources and transmission paths within the city — but I think doing that would probably only cause greater panic among the U.S. government and Umbrella...and then prompt an early destructive strike against Raccoon City.” Josh rubbed his chin. “Besides, I don’t think you can afford to hire mercenaries.”

“Lend me an army? What kind of army?” Jill asked tentatively.

Josh then showed her the basic model of mechanical soldiers and some vehicles used on that planet.

He also provided the corresponding costs.

But he said Jill could rent part of them first and repay some of the cost before renewing the rental for more.

In a way, as long as you’re bold enough, even Earth’s resources are enough to maintain a legion that controls the entire Earth.

“Never mind, pretend I didn’t ask!” Just like the movie version of Jill, this Jill had no plans for “planetary domination,” and was even a bit softer in personality than the movie Jill, so she declined Josh’s offer.

Josh didn’t mind, having expected her choice anyway, since the Jill from the other world had made nearly the same decision.

Though his suggestion could have helped Jill develop better, if she had chosen that path, she wouldn’t be the Jill he knew.

“Although it’s a bit regrettable that we couldn’t cooperate more deeply, I still wish you luck!” Josh told Jill some of what he knew about Raccoon City — like the hospital and its underground research base, Nikola being an insider, and some details related to Resident Evil 2.

“Thank you, your information is very helpful to me!” Due to past events, Jill now fully trusted Josh and sincerely expressed her gratitude.

Josh, after watching a while longer Jill’s dramatic performance of a beautiful woman fighting zombies, then closed the communication.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to watch more — but the AI Pangu showed he had an incoming call, and the caller wasn’t anyone else but his daughter, Carol.

“What’s so urgent, Carol?” After connecting the video call, Josh asked his daughter somewhat puzzled.

His daughter’s personality had become increasingly strong-willed and independent since becoming queen, and unless Josh went to see her first, she rarely sought him out for anything important.

This made Josh feel a bit like an old father who had lost his daughter’s affection.

“Father, I’m preparing to make a move on Germany!” The moment the call connected, Carol dropped a bombshell.

“Make a move on Germany? Which Germany?” Josh asked, surprised. “Are you starting a war?”

Everyone in the world knew there were now two Germanys.

“All of them, including Prussia, occupied by Poland. It’s not really a war, more of an exchange of interests, plus a German referendum! Reasonably and legally incorporating the corresponding regions into the United Kingdom of Austria!” Carol proudly raised her slender neck.

…So what exactly is going on? Josh was a bit confused.

But soon his attention was drawn to something else: on his daughter’s neck was a necklace he hadn’t seen before, with a bright green pendant attached.

That thing looked like the life tablet that appeared briefly in the Thor movies, later revealed as an Easter egg?

But that thing shouldn’t be in Odin’s treasure vault, so how did it end up around his daughter’s neck?

Carol seemed to notice Josh’s gaze and immediately pulled back her neck but this action only made Josh more suspicious.
