Author Note |
Tomorrow the novel goes premium. I will try to update as much as possible after that. At noon tomorrow, I will release a few chapters first, and then I will upload whatever else I manage to write that day. I honestly do not have any stockpiled chapters. Except for the first day of the premium release, future updates will remain fixed in the evenings.
I cannot help it. I only write smoothly late at night when everything is quiet and no one is around to disturb me.
Thank you all for your continuous support. In the end, this book actually made it to the front-page featured list. I genuinely thought the chances were slim.
I have seen quite a few familiar usernames in the comments. How should I put this? I feel both incredibly ashamed and secretly delighted. You guys actually still remember me and have not forgotten me in some unseen corner.
Before starting this book, I never expected so many top-tier authors to release new works recently. I thought I had picked a quiet window, but the competition turned out to be terrifyingly fierce.
I originally planned to write a more lighthearted novel, and recently I reread Thriller Paradise, which is how I got this idea.
I have read a lot of infinite genre novels in the past, though mostly anime crossovers. Many of them cannot even be found anymore, becoming tears in the rain. But my favorite infinite genre novel has always been Thriller Paradise.
I have already brainstormed quite a few Scripts. There are about a dozen Scripts I want to write, drawing inspiration from games, anime, lateral thinking puzzles, movies, the SCP Foundation, the Backrooms, various urban legends, and manga. For most, I will just borrow the basic settings, and there will probably be some entirely original Scripts as well.
Over the past twenty years, the only thing I have done more than others is play and consume these kinds of media.
Anyway, everything mentioned in the synopsis will definitely be written, along with some things that are not in there.
Also, this book will not feature too much numerical stat growth—like turning the protagonist into a physically invincible Super Saiyan who can blow up the Earth with a single punch.
That would not be very interesting to read. It is like the Hamon from parts one and two of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure—once it is mastered to the limit, there is really nothing left to write about the story. Stands, on the other hand, are different. Because Stand users are just ordinary humans physically, the writing never gets stale. There are countless ways to create tactical mind games and unique combat styles.
Because you can always find the enemy's weakness; they will never be truly invincible, and you also have to take risks to outsmart them.
The upcoming Scripts in this book will continue following this rule. Most of the time, the protagonist will need to use his brain to figure out the patterns and the truth behind everything in order to clear the level.
Furthermore, not all Scripts will be horror-themed. Occasionally, there will be some lighthearted, comedic mini-episodes, similar to the Detective Usami arc in Thriller Paradise. I have already prepared one or two, and I plan to write a portion of them after this current Script concludes.
My goal is to reach about two million words. I calculated it—there are eighteen main Scripts ranging from F-grade to S-grade. Throwing in a few Adventure Scripts, role-playing Scripts, and other miscellaneous Scripts in between, it should comfortably exceed two million words.
I have already planned out the final Script. The beauty of the infinite genre is that it is quite convenient to wrap up.
As for the update volume, I really cannot make any guarantees. Once it goes premium, I will try my best to write more whenever I have enough inspiration.
After all, to be honest, writing these kinds of short stories cannot just follow a formulaic path of leveling up, tallying loot, suddenly breaking through to defeat the enemy, and steamrolling forward. That is not a direction I like or excel at.
Once again, thank you all for your support. If you have been enjoying the read, please consider purchasing the first premium chapter to support me.
Wishing you all a good night. Sleep well. That is all.
