Chapter 945: Divine Artifact Spirit: Soulless! (2)

Jacob looked at Soulless as he thought, 'In the end, all of this just to gain initiate over me so he could control me. Well, why am I not surprised? After all, he is far too powerful than me, so should he be willing to bow his head? Why follow the rules when the other party doesn't even deserve to be judged because they are too weak? If I was at least on the same rank as this artifact spirit, heh, wouldn't I have gone through so much trouble?'

"What other choice do I have? I agree to your proposal." Jacob bowed his head again.

The next moment, the bubble that was cracking instantly mended itself, and Soulless suddenly sent something inside the bubble.

Jacob looked at the 'thing' that Soulless had suddenly sent inside; it was a pitch-black scroll filled with crimson runic words, and Jacob's eyes flickered coldly as he couldn't recognize even a single word on this paper at all, nor could Eyes of Judge see through this scroll.

Soulless impassively spoke at this moment, "All you need to do is to place this scroll into your Divine Soulless Codex, and then we'll be true allies, and you'll get my full support and trust!"

Jacob asked, "What is this?"

Soulless replied coldly with a hint of impatience, "Something that will make me fully trust you. You can consider it an ownership contract of Divine Soulless Pagoda as well. You won't be able to betray me, and I can freely enter your Nexus Point without needing you to claim my full ownership. This is nothing but beneficial for you."

Jacob wanted to scoff at Soulless's words but remained composed as he looked at the black scroll. He could at least tell that this was some kind of contract like the Zodiac Oaths. Still, it should be far superior, and the words written on it should be deliberately written in a language or rune language too high for Jacob to understand or come in contact with yet.

'Could it be he let me form the Divine Soulless Codex to lead me to this exact scenario?' Jacob felt his speculation was most likely accurate, proving how cunning and devious Soulless was.

But there was something that Soulless didn't consider Jacob's terrifying origin as the inheritor of the Universal Godly Scripture Cursed Immortality and the Universal Godly Artifact Infinity Pendant.

"How should I proceed with it?" Jacob readily agreed.

"Good, you know your limits, and this attitude will bring you to the top with my help." Soulless sounded ecstatic as he continued, "Use this incantation while enveloping it with your Soul Sense, and it should appear directly inside your Nexus Point and Divine Soulless Codex!"

Afterward, Soulless taught Jacob an incantation, which was as simple as an Epic Spell Incantation, and anyone with magic power would be able to use it.

Jacob enveloped the black scroll with his soul sense, and even with his soul sense, he couldn't detect anything unusual, but he knew better. Despite this, he chants the incantation under Soulless's scrutiny.

The moment Jacob completed the incantation, the black scroll suddenly turned into a black streak and shot towards Jacob's glabella. At this moment, Jacob also felt something inexplicable attached to his sense of soul and spreading to his entire soul.

However, Jacob remained calm as he observed the black scroll appearing inside his nexus point and directly entered the base of his Divine Soulless Codex.

The black soul at this moment suddenly turned into an unknown black glyph, and countless black threads shot out like black ink leaking from a sponge and started covering the base of his Divine Soulless Codex as if corrupting it.

But suddenly, the infinity symbol on the base of the Divine Soulless Codex came alive as it shimmered with kaleidoscopic light, and the entire Divine Soulless Codex emitted mystical power.

Thereafter, the black glyph suddenly trembled, and the black threads shooting out of it froze in their trace, and it wasn't all as under the power of the infinity symbol. The threads started to flow backward into the trembling glyph.

The black glyph seemed to have encountered a terrifying nemesis, and now the path of the retreat was completely blocked. How could it do what it was supposed to do?

Furthermore, Jacob instantly felt that his Divine Soulless Codex was relaying something to him, and when he realized what it was, his eyes flickered with shock and a hint of ecstasy.

'So, I can destroy it now as long as I give order to the Divine Soulless Codex? What an unimaginable technique. It seemed to have a mind of its own, or is it all because of the Law of Infinity and other laws?' Jacob thought but didn't have time to be distracted because Soulless was still observing him.

He didn't dare to destroy the black glyph just yet because he felt Soulless would detect it. He knew nothing could bind him after reaching the third phase of the Cursed Immortality, so he hoped to trick Soulless.

It was even better after his Divine Soulless Codex suddenly entrapped the black glyph instead of directly destroying it. Soulless would never know about it now, but Jacob gained the initiative!

Jacob pretended to be shocked and fearful as he cried in alarm, "You! What did you do to me?"

Soulless didn't even suspect Jacob to be capable of quickly subduing 'that' contract, which can even bind Higher Gods!

"Keke~ no need to be so alarmed. I have no intention of harming you. You are the most optimal vessel for Divine Soulless Pagoda. Even the Soulless Ghost Ancestor wasn't qualified, and that's why I had to discard him." A shocking truth came out from Soulless.

Jacob was astounded and kept pretending to be terrified as he asked, "D-discarded? You killed Soulless Ghost Ancestor? Then what about the message and the legacy he left you? You were pretending to abide by his rules?!"

Soulless seemed to no longer be worried about Jacob's disobedience as he dismissively replied, "I never said I killed him. I just discarded him because he could've never reached the optimal level to become my vessel in his lifetime, even if he became a Higher God.

"So, I just sent him where he wanted to go, to the Ascension Bridge. But he didn't have the Ascension Permit, so he's most likely resting in peace. After all, you must understand that I couldn't let those Upper Galaxies overseers know that a Soulmancer had risen from the middle galaxies, right?

"As for abiding by his rules, I played along because of my contract with him. That guy was quite cunning, so he forced me into a God Accord when he found me. I'm still skeptical about where he found it; his luck was indeed out of the ordinary.

"So, even if I want to find a vessel, I had no choice but to look for it in the Ghost Race until I breach the accord in a few million years. Yet, you came along and were able to trick the God Accord, and now here we are. Kekeke…"

Soulless burst into eerie maniacal laughter, "Because of you, I became free, and you will become my vessel and help me seek justice from those bastards! It's a win-win!"
