Chapter 399: the eve

One month later.

In the Sibke Forest on the outskirts of the frosty country’s imperial capital, Morinke.

“How many people have been captured?”

Shier stood on the ground covered in frost and snow with a longsword in her hand. The forest before her eyes had already become a complete mess.

After being continuously ravaged by the Frost Bear Cavalry and spell casters, which the frosty country was proud of, the forest before Shier’s eyes no longer had a single well-preserved tree.

There had been a great battle here.

During this one month, Shier had ‘liberated’three of the eight great families of the Frost Frost Kingdom and persuaded them to join his coalition army to eliminate the threat brought by the adjudicator.

However, Shier had also encountered great resistance. Other than a few assassinations of the adjudicator, the thing that made Shier’s heart chill the most was the killing that his compatriots could not understand.

When shier led the army to the Sibirk Forest near the imperial capital, the guards from the imperial capital of the Frost Country saw shier as an enemy, this battle escalated into a war between legions.

The final result was that the garrison of the fortress led by Shier won the victory.

The commander of the guards was brought to shier by the soldiers. Shier had seen this middle-aged man named Murnak at the ball before the expedition.

This commander was still struggling when he was brought before shier, but the garrison of the fortress was much more violent than the guards of the imperial city. The soldier behind this commander suddenly kicked the back of his knee, he had no choice but to kneel in front of shier.

“Shier, you traitor who defected to the Devil! You are not qualified to hold that sword!”

He raised his head and stared angrily at the young man in front of him. However, when his gaze met Shier’s silver-gray pupils, the anger in his heart was filled with a bone-chilling coldness.

This was something that made people shiver even more than killing intent.

The last time he saw this prince at the ball, he was just a recruit who seemed to be unable to even kill someone.

But when he looked at shier who was now standing in front of him, there was a fear that came from the bottom of his heart.

“Sir Mernak, tell me, who gave the Order?”

Shier’s voice was as cold as the cold wind. She did not ask any unnecessary questions.

Shier had lost too many of his compatriots in this encounter in the forest, whether it was the guards or the garrison troops from the fortress.

This was a meaningless war!

“Your… Your Majesty the King…”when he mentioned His Majesty the King, he finally found some courage to continue questioning the behavior of the person in front of him. “His Majesty the King and the people of Frost country will never allow you…”

“Murnak? Murnak, why are you here, you brat!”

Before this commander could finish his words, Marshal Amut walked out from the other side with a long sword in his hand.

In the battle just now, Marshal Amut was in charge of commanding the troops on the right side, while this commander came from the spell caster troops at the rear.

“Uncle?”The commander widened his eyes when he saw Marshal Amut.

Marshal Amut ignored the other party and directly half-knelt in front of Shierre.

“Your Highness, please hand this commander over to me to punish him,”Marshal Amut said.

Shier nodded slightly. She knew that Marshal Amut’s family had always been known for its strict family rules. If that commander attacked a member of the royal family, even if he had the king’s orders, he would still be punished.

Moreover, shier did not have the time to deal with the issue of the punishment of these captives.

She looked at the imperial city in the distance. It was still quite a distance away from the imperial city, but she could see the towering city walls of the imperial city.

The thing that worried shier the most had finally happened. Those adjudicators had long infiltrated the imperial city of the Frost Kingdom. The worst part was that they had most likely replaced the king.

On the way, no matter how much shier tried to explain what she had done, there were still many nobles who believed that shier had defected to the demons and pointed her sword at the kingdom.

The only thing she could do now was to push all the way to the center of the Kingdom of Frost and present the truth to the king.

But if even the king had been replaced by the judge..

Sheyer raised her head and looked at the sky. There was a crow circling in the sky.

That Crow had followed Sheyer throughout the journey. Sheyer had also guessed the Crow’s identity.

She left the center of the battlefield and went to an empty corner to open the weave.

Shier’s weave was much livelier than it was a month ago. The most direct proof was that every time she opened a message, the number of unread messages in the message would increase to 99 +.

The number of unread messages came from a council that the fireman had invited shier to join. It was a council called the film society.

‘Avatar filming site, the filming progress is coming to an end.’

Just as shier clicked in, he saw a new message from the flower of Faroese, with a photo attached to the message.

In the photo was a tree with its leaves glowing.

Although there was a rule in the society that one was not allowed to reveal their real identity, some people’s identities were still quite easy to guess.

For example, the flower of Faroese, shier had guessed that she was the actress who played the female lead Matilda in this demon is not too cold through the ‘campsite’function of the Spellcaster Forum.

This Matilda would occasionally post the progress of new movies in the association.

‘this should be… a spoiler, right?’The holy tree breeder appeared and gave a new reply.

‘It’s okay, it’s not a spoiler if you don’t tell me the plot.’

Shier looked at the discussion about the new movie in the film association. She had just edited a message and wanted to send it out, but her hand was pulled back when she touched the send button.

During this period of time, shier had completely witnessed the ‘toxicity’of the film association. She found many friends in the association who had a common view on the movie.

Once Shea sent her first message, she might join the group to discuss the new film.

But now was not the time.

Shea closed the film society newsletter and opened her own newsletter directory, which only had two friends.

The first was the firerunner who had been helping her along the way, and the second was the Nolan reporter Shea knew.

’I need your help.’

Shier sent a message to thousand faces.

No matter where shier led the army, she would always follow behind shier. Now, shier hoped to use the power that she called the ‘media’.

BRINGING CULTURE TO A DIFFERENT WORLD 399 - The Eve

One month later. In the Sibke Forest, on the outskirts of Morinke, the Frostfell’s royal city:

“How many have been captured?” Shier stood on the frost-covered ground, longsword in hand. The forest before her was a scene of devastation.

After being relentlessly ravaged by the Frostfell’s vaunted Ice Bear army and mages, not a single tree remained intact.

A great battle had taken place here.

Over the past month, Shier had ‘liberated’ three of the eight great families of the nation, persuading them to join her coalition army in eliminating the threat posed by the Heresy Tribunal.

However, Shier had also encountered significant resistance. Beyond a few assassinations of Heresy Inquisitors, the most chilling aspect was the inexplicable, murderous intent from her compatriots.

When Shier led the army to the Sibke Forest near the royal city, the city guards viewed her as an enemy, and a skirmish escalated into a full-blown battle between legions.

    Shier’s army emerged victorious.

The guards’ commander, Murnak, was brought before Shier. She recognized him from the ball before the expedition.

He struggled against his captors, but the soldiers were far more forceful than the royal city guards. A soldier kicked the back of his knee, forcing him to kneel before Shier.

“Shier, you traitor who defected to the Devil! You are not worthy to wield that sword!” He glared at her, but when his eyes met Shier’s silver-gray pupils, his anger turned to bone-chilling fear.

The last time he saw the prince at the ball, he seemed an inexperienced recruit, barely capable of killing.

Now, the fear emanating from Shier was profound.

“Sir Murnak, tell me, who gave the order?”

Shier’s voice was as cold as the winter wind, devoid of unnecessary questions.

She had lost too many compatriots in the forest, guards and fortress garrison alike. This was a senseless war!

“Your… His Majesty the King…” He found some courage to question her actions. “His Majesty the King and the people of Frostfell will never allow you…”

“Murnak? Murnak, what are you doing here, you fool!”

Before he could finish, Marshal Amur stepped forward, longsword in hand.

He had commanded the right flank during the battle, while Murnak had come from the rear mage troops.

    “Uncle?” Murnak’s eyes widened.

Marshal Amur ignored him and half-knelt before Shier.

“Your Highness, please entrust this commander to me for punishment,” he said.

Shier nodded. She knew Marshal Amur’s family was known for its strict discipline. If Murnak had attacked a member of the royal family, even under the king’s orders, he would be punished.

Moreover, Shier lacked the time to deal with the captives’ punishment.

She gazed at the distant royal city, its towering walls visible.

Her greatest fear had materialized: Heresy Inquisitors had infiltrated the royal city, likely replacing the king.

Despite her attempts to explain her actions, many nobles still believed Shier had defected to the demons.

Her only option was to reach the nation’s center and reveal the truth to the king.

But if the king himself had been replaced…

Shier looked up to the sky and saw a crow  circling above. It had followed her throughout her journey, and she had guessed its identity.

She left the battlefield and opened the magic net in an empty area. Her magic net was far more active than a month ago, with a deluge of unread messages. Most came from the Movie Club, a council the Firebringer had invited her to join.

The Flower of Farucci: ‘Avatar filming site, filming nearing completion.’

A photo accompanied the message, showing a tree with glowing leaves.

Although members were supposed to conceal their identities, some were easily guessed.

Shier suspected the Flower of Farucci was Matilda, the actress from Leòn: The Demon, based on the Mage Forum’s ‘camp’ function.

Matilda occasionally posted updates on new movies.

Holy Tree Breeder: ‘Is this… a spoiler?’

The Flower of Farucci: ‘It’s not a spoiler if I don’t reveal the plot.’

Shier observed the film discussion. She began to type a message, but hesitated.

She had witnessed the Movie Club’s ‘toxicity’ and found like-minded friends.

Sending a message would mean joining the discussion.

But now was not the time.

Shier closed the film society newsletter and opened her contacts, containing only two entries.

The Firebringer, who had aided her, and the Norland reporter she knew.

    ‘I need your help.’

Shier sent a message to the reporter.

No matter where Shier led her army, the reporter had followed. Now, she hoped to utilize the power of the ‘media.’
