Chapter 398: group chat (4th update)

Saint Moronica Cathedral, the land of the Holy Church.

Gloria was sitting in the Holy Council Chamber, next to her guardian Knight, Messiah.

After her return from the Nolan trip, Gloria’s punishment was to be placed under house arrest in Saint Moronica Cathedral.

The papal faction did not dare to make any substantial threats or harm to helolia.

Because Helolia’s singing was the only way to control the Heretic Court of Justice. Although the choir’s singing could have the same effect, the choir could only temporarily suppress it, and Helolia’s singing was temporarily completely cured.

Although Helolia was grounded by the higher-ups of the country of holy religion, she was still dragged to this meeting.

Of course, it was as an observer.

“Why is there a devil’s creation here!”

A bishop had just sat down in the meeting hall. After looking at the items placed in the center of the meeting hall, he loudly questioned the organizer of this meeting hall.

In the center of the Sacred Meeting Hall was a primary crystal.

Heloliya recognized that primary crystal was Nolan’s current popular ‘television’.

What was laughable was that Nolan’s popular ‘Magical Machinery’had become an extremely dangerous taboo item in the land of the sacred religion.

Just because it was labeled as a demon’s creation, the surroundings of the magical machinery were engraved with various holy light magic for defense.

It was as if it was placed in the center of the Holy Meeting Hall as a dangerous bomb that could explode at any time.

“The Prince of the Frost Kingdom has been bewitched by the demons. Monique, the fortress that you once defended might have already been occupied by the demons.”

“What? !”

Monique, who was named Monique, was a little agitated when he heard the news.

Before Monique returned to the sacred religion kingdom to take up the position of bishop, he had fought together with the soldiers of the frost kingdom in the fortress.

Therefore, Monig was unwilling to believe that the magnificent fortress would be taken down by the demons.

The bishop of the trial court did not speak. The ‘Demon Creation’placed in the center of the Holy Meeting Hall had been completely activated.

The bass voice of Pruch, the demon deceiver from Nolan, echoed throughout the entire hall. The frozen scenery of the frost kingdom was also presented before everyone’s eyes.

When the documentary filmed a missionary being taken away by two soldiers of the Frost Kingdom, the Holy Council Hall fell into silence.

“What is Prince Shier trying to do? Did he really seek refuge with the demons?”

Bishop Monig, who had just learned of the matter, was still in doubt.

“Today’s parliament is here to discuss how to deal with this… incident.”The presiding bishop calmed down Bishop Monig’s anger.

Gloria had been quietly listening to the discussion of these bishops by the side. She even yawned a little dully on the way.

‘Lady Saintess, aren’t you worried?’

Myrcella, who had been sitting by the side, communicated with Gloria through text messages.

‘I’m worried. If the Frost Kingdom declares war on us, then the Holy Church won’t be able to hold on for long. However, no matter how these guys who are loyal to the pope discuss, they won’t be able to come up with a solution.’

Ever since Gloria had obtained the secret communication medium of the weave, when she communicated with Myrcella via text message, she did not hold back at all. She showed her disdain for the pope’s faction without any mercy.

“Lady Saintess, what do you think about the Frost Kingdom incident?”A bishop suddenly asked Gloria, who had been silent all this while.

“I agree with Bishop Kbler on the unusual behavior of the Prince of the frosty country this time. That is to investigate the inside story first, and then send someone to mediate the dispute.”

Gloria stood up and replied with an impeccable smile on her face.

No matter how much Gloria hated the Papal faction, she was not only popular with the people of this country in the land of the sacred religion. There were also many bishops in the higher-ups of the church who liked this friendly SAINTESS.

‘Do you really think that mediation is useful?’

Gloria’s guardian Knight Messiah could guess what was hidden behind Gloria’s smile.

‘If only it was useful. Those guys in the court of justice messed up the matter and needed the people of the red church to take the blame. Now they probably have a headache too, but it’s an opportunity for me.’

Gloria continued to sit in the meeting hall in a dignified manner as a facade, but her private gaze was fixed on the interface of the weave.

‘opportunity?’

‘this… I can’t tell you, Myrcella.’

Gloria’s gaze moved from the weave to the center of the sacred meeting hall. The documentary was not over yet.

From the bits and pieces of information revealed in the documentary, Gloria felt that the prince’s behavior was somewhat abnormal… it felt like someone was deliberately pushing him behind the scenes.

Gloria was still very clear about the power of the adjudicators. An ordinary spell caster would never be able to confront a adjudicator head-on.

Was It really this? Gloria stared at a post on the spell caster forum called ‘Help! My friend has been affected by some kind of mind magic. poster: Frost Owl.’

The reason why Gloria was able to discover this post was that after she left Nolan, she had been paying attention to the movements of an account called ‘The Messenger of Fire’.

The Messenger of fire also replied to the post sent by the frost owl.

Gloria remembered that it was the day when the heresy court was on a ‘Big Mission’.

Therefore, this frost owl was very likely… the twelfth prince of the Frost Kingdom.

However, Gloria’s behavior on the mana net seemed to have been alerted by the sender. When she wanted to add this owl as her friend, the message displayed was a refusal.

The frost owl seemed to have deliberately blocked her, even if she changed her account to Myrcella’s.

This made Gloria very discouraged. She completely felt that the magic net was the territory of that demon. No matter what she wanted to do, she would be restricted by Joshua.

However, this time, an invitation suddenly popped up in Gloria’s text message.

The Messenger of fire invited you to join the Film Association’s Council?

Gloria took a look at this strange invitation. Although she couldn’t understand what the council represented, she still agreed to this request.

Soon, a new message popped up in front of Gloria.

‘sister Lia has joined the group chat.’

Not long after this new message popped up, Gloria saw several new messages pop up in the window.

‘Zenas has joined the group chat.’

‘The Light Chaser has joined the group chat.’

‘The flower of Faroese has joined the group chat.’

‘the earth-eating playwright has joined the group chat.’

‘I really don’t want to wear a skirt to join the group chat.’

’…’

Gloria looked at the large group of unfamiliar yet familiar names below. For a moment, she did not understand the purpose of this parliament.

‘Welcome to the first parliament on the message, the film society. In this society, you discuss your views on movies. There is only one rule of our society, and that is never to reveal your identity in real life.’

The first message came from the messenger of fire, who was also the founder of the society.

‘So my identity has been exposed?’the second person who replied was named Hiri, who was studying hard today!

At the end of the reply, there was an expression of a dwarf who was so shocked that the cup slipped out of his hand.

‘I don’t think so.’the third person who replied was the holy tree breeder.

Gloria quickly figured out what kind of existence this movie association was. She searched through the list of members of the Association and saw the name of the frost owl.

“It looks interesting.”The Frost Owl quickly appeared and replied.

BRINGING CULTURE TO A DIFFERENT WORLD 398 - Group Chat (4th Update)

    Aetherion, Saint Moronica Cathedral.

Herolia sat in the Holy Council Chamber, beside her guardian knight, Messiah. The opulent chamber, with its stained-glass windows depicting scenes of divine power and intricate gold leaf detailing, felt stifling.

Following her return from Norland, Herolia's punishment was house arrest within the cathedral's imposing walls. The papal faction, despite their displeasure, dared not inflict substantial harm upon her.

Herolia's singing remained the sole effective means of controlling the Heretical Tribunal of Justice. While a choir could temporarily suppress the tribunal's influence, Herolia's voice offered a more prolonged, if not complete, solution.

Though confined by Aetherion's higher echelons, she was still summoned to this meeting, albeit as an observer.

"Why is a devil's creation present here!"

A bishop, his face contorted in disgust, had just settled into his seat. He glared at the object placed at the chamber's center, his voice echoing through the vaulted space.

At the heart of the Sacred Meeting Hall sat a primary crystal, its polished surface reflecting the flickering candlelight. Herolia recognized it as a Norland-made "television," a device currently enjoying immense popularity.

Ironically, this same "magical machinery," celebrated in Norland, was deemed a dangerous taboo in Aetherion, a "demon's creation."

Defensive holy light magic inscriptions surrounded the device as if it were a volatile bomb poised to detonate.

"The Prince of Frostfell has been bewitched by demons. Monique, the fortress you once defended may already be under their control."

    "What?!"

Bishop Monique, his face flushed with anger and disbelief, reacted sharply to the news. He held a deep affection for Frostfell, having fought alongside its soldiers in the fortress before assuming his bishopric.

He struggled to accept that the formidable fortress could fall to demonic influence.

The bishops of the Heretical Tribunal remained silent. The "demon creation" in the chamber's center had activated, its screen flickering to life.

Pluk, the demon deceiver from Norland, resonated throughout the chamber, his deep voice narrating the events unfolding on the screen. The stark, frozen landscapes of Frostfell filled the primary crystal.

The chamber fell silent as the documentary depicted missionaries being forcibly escorted by Frostfell soldiers.

"What is Prince Shier attempting? Has she truly allied with demons?"

Bishop Monique, still grappling with the revelation, voiced his confusion.

"Today's meeting is to discuss how to address this... incident," the presiding bishop announced, attempting to quell the rising tension.

Herolia, observing the bishops' heated discussion, stifled a yawn.

"Lady Saintess, are you not concerned?"

Messiah, ever vigilant, communicated with Herolia via text message.

"I am concerned. If Frostfell declares war, Aetherion will struggle to withstand them. However, these men, devoted to the Pope, will find no solution," Herolia replied, her fingers flying across the magic net interface.

Since acquiring the magic net's private communication, Herolia had expressed her disdain for the papal faction without restraint.

"Lady Saintess, what are your thoughts on the Frostfell incident?" a bishop suddenly asked, breaking her reverie.

"I concur with Bishop Kbler's suggestion to investigate the prince's unusual behavior before escalating the situation. Mediation is crucial," Herolia replied, her smile radiating sincerity.

Despite her animosity towards the papal faction, Herolia remained popular among Aetherion's populace and many church officials.

"Do you truly believe mediation will suffice?" Messiah inquired, discerning the underlying sarcasm in Herolia's smile.

"If only. The tribunal's blunders have forced the Red Church to shoulder the blame. They are now facing a dilemma, providing me an opportunity."

Herolia maintained her dignified facade, her gaze fixed on the magic net interface.

    "Opportunity?"

    "That, Messiah, I cannot disclose."

Herolia's attention shifted to the primary crystal. The documentary continued.

From the fragmented information presented, she sensed an unnatural quality to the prince's actions, as if an unseen force guided her.

Herolia was well aware of the inquisitors' formidable power. Ordinary spellcasters could not challenge them directly.

Was it truly a coincidence? Herolia's eyes fell upon a Mage Forum post: "Help! My friend is under a mind magic influence. Poster: Frost Owl."

Her interest in this post stemmed from her continued monitoring of the "Firebringer" account.

Firebringer had responded to the Frost Owl's post.

Herolia recalled that this exchange occurred during the tribunal's "Grand Mission."

Therefore, Frost Owl was likely Prince Shier.

However, her attempts to add Frost Owl as a friend were met with rejection.

Frost Owl seemed to have deliberately blocked her, even when she used Messiah's account.

This frustrated Herolia. She felt the magic net was under the demon's control, her actions restricted by Joshua.

Suddenly, an invitation appeared on her screen.

"Firebringer invites you to join the Movie Club Council"

Intrigued, Herolia accepted the invitation, despite her lack of understanding of "councils."

    A new message appeared.

"Sister Lia has joined the group chat."

    Soon, other messages followed.

"Zenarth has joined the group chat."

"The Light Chaser has joined the group chat."

"The Flower of Farucci has joined the group chat."

"The Earth-Eating Playwright has joined the group chat."

"I really don't want to wear a skirt has joined the group chat."

    "..."

Herolia, bewildered by the unfamiliar yet familiar names, struggled to grasp the council's purpose.

Firebringer(Founder): "Welcome to the message's first council, the Movie Club. We discuss movies here. The only rule is to never reveal your real-life identities."

Hiri is studying hard today!: "So, my identity is revealed?" replied, adding a shocked dwarf emoji.

Holy Tree Breeder: "I don't think so," added.

Herolia quickly deduced the council's nature. She scanned the member list and found "Frost Owl."

"Frost Owl: This looks interesting," the account replied.
