Chapter 614: Blood Gun

After calling out once, he headed straight forward.

With the aid of a small flying vessel, he soon arrived at the cemetery side,

and contacted Zhao Tianlei and the others via voice transmission.

When he reached the edge area, Zhao Tianlei had already arrived.

“What’s going on?”

Zhao Tianlei asked when he saw him approach.

“Young Master, the snipers we encountered ahead have disappeared.”

“Especially those puppets, they’ve stopped moving, as if their souls are gone.”

Wang Haoran pointed behind them, then waved a hand,

summoning several corpses.

“Not moving?”

Zhao Tianlei looked incredulous at the scene before him,

his expression turning serious for a moment.

“Yes, none of them are moving.”

Wang Haoran nodded in agreement.

“That’s perfect, seize them all while we can.”

“After we refine them, they’ll be our manpower!”

Zhao Tianlei immediately understood and hurriedly advised,

“They’re already secured, our people are stationed outside.”

“Also, their mechanical formations have already failed, and our people are dismantling them.”

Wang Haoran glanced back again and smiled, “This time we’ll return victorious.”

“Good, keep sending people to destroy the mechanisms here.”

“Split another team to come help us collect the resources here!”

Zhao Tianlei nodded, satisfied, “We’ll come back fully loaded. Everyone can take some resources.”

“Yes, Young Master.”

“I’ll arrange it now.”

At Wang Haoran’s words, interest instantly lit in the group—

they had strict rules forbidding private seizure of resources,

but Zhao Tianlei’s authorization meant everyone could get something this time.

After he left, Zhao Tianlei first glanced toward Ning Qi’s direction;

at that moment the area where Ning Qi was located was unusually calm.

Especially around the tomb Ning Qi had gone into, there was no ripple at all.

No one knew what Ning Qi was doing inside.

By now he had absorbed most of the power within.

“Whoo!”

In the deep pit, Ning Qi exhaled deeply.

Then he suddenly opened his eyes.

Electric light surged from his pupils.

In the blink of an eye he had taken everything in.

“Master, congratulations.”

The Pill Spirit hurried forward to offer congratulations.

Ning Qi gave him a cool glance, then said, “We’ll talk outside.”

With that, he left with the two companions.

They returned to the tomb entrance.

“Whoo!”

Feeling the breeze around him, Ning Qi suddenly felt an unprecedented sense of exhilaration.

“Master, you’ve reached Fifth-Rank Golden Immortal strength.”

Shi Xiaokun looked at Ning Qi’s shifting aura and praised, “This is truly our opportunity.”

“Indeed, such strength will be incredibly useful.”

“When we reach the Realm Sea Battlefield, no one will know our true power.”

“Then no one will be able to stand against us.”

Ning Qi smiled and looked around.

“Master, the mechanisms and formations here have lost their power support.”

“We’re safe here now.”

The Pill Spirit, knowing what he was looking at, added, “We just absorbed all the power here. With no power supporting them, everything stopped.”

“That’s right, so from now on no matter how they search, they won’t find any traps from formations or mechanisms.”

Ning Qi nodded, then looked into the distance and said, “Let’s go see what other resources are up ahead.”

“If there aren’t any, we can just leave them for those people.”

“Master, shouldn’t we gather more to put into our Pocket Dimension?”

“Then when we capture people to bring back, they’ll have resources to cultivate with.”

Shi Xiaokun, hearing this, came over to remind him.

“Oh? You’re right to remind me.”

Ning Qi snapped back to attention, smiling, “Let’s go take a look.”

“All right!”

The Pill Spirit and Shi Xiaokun both agreed and followed.

They quickly left and headed toward another cemetery area.

After walking a distance, Ning Qi focused on the front.

Another patch of graves appeared ahead.

“Isn’t this a mass burial pit?”

The Pill Spirit looked ahead and complained.

“Yes, it should be a mass burial pit, but places like this offer more opportunities.”

Ning Qi nodded and continued inward.

Soon he and the two companions arrived at the boundary of the mass burial site.

Once there, the three split up to search for opportunities.

Ning Qi picked a random direction and proceeded; along the way were incomplete corpses, and some buried corpses that had been hidden.

But no one guarded this place; it had long since fallen into ruin.

“Whoo!”

Occasional ghostly wails swept by,

sending chills down the spine, though they no longer affected Ning Qi.

He continued walking, scanning the area from time to time.

After a while he suddenly found some broken villages ahead.

“How are there villages here?”

Ning Qi grew curious and walked toward them.

When he reached the villages, it looked as if they had been looted.

Corpses lay everywhere, houses were ruined,

some weapons and armor were broken,

and signs of fierce fighting were abundant.

Ning Qi searched the area and found nothing of interest, then moved on.

Soon he reached the boundary of another village, encountering the same scene.

He scarcely paid attention, glanced around, and walked onward.

Before long he arrived at the foot of a mountain.

This place was also dilapidated, but unlike the villages, it was a ruined sect gate.

One could still faintly see the sect’s former glory here;

even the stone steps up the mountain were made from spirit stones.

The plaque above the gate was carved from a rare spirit stone.

Sadly, it had also been wiped out.

“Master!”

At that moment the Pill Spirit came over.

Returning to Ning Qi’s side, he curiously looked at the mountain gate, “There’s a sect gate here.”

“Yes, we can go up and see if there’s anything left.”

Ning Qi nodded and started up.

“All right!”

The Pill Spirit followed closely.

“By the way, where’s Shi Xiaokun?”

Ning Qi suddenly remembered and asked.

“He went in another direction, there seemed to be some small towns.”

The Pill Spirit casually pointed a way and said.

“Good, that’s fine.”

“Let’s go.”

Ning Qi nodded and continued with the Pill Spirit.

They climbed the steps and soon reached halfway up the mountain.

There they could already see some caves and cultivation spots.

“I’ll check over there.”

The Pill Spirit’s interest flared and he leaped off.

Ning Qi did not stop him; after the Pill Spirit left, Ning Qi continued upward.

Soon he reached the area near the mountain-top main hall.

Besides the main hall there were several pavilions, obviously common spots for disciples.

In the center was a wide square used for cultivation.

Ning Qi entered one pavilion and searched for a while, finding nothing,

so he moved to another pavilion—again, nothing.

Finally he went into the main hall.

There were some valuable resources here, but not enough to attract his attention.

He left the main hall and went to the back mountain area.

There he found lush medicinal plots.

Despite the long time that had passed, the spiritual medicines were still growing vigorously.

He could feel the thick life force energy.

“This place is really nice.”

The Pill Spirit had somehow come to his side.

Looking at the medicinal fields, he immediately showed a greedy expression.

It was hugely tempting for him.

“It’s all yours.”

Ning Qi said nothing and handed the medicinal garden over.

“Thank you, Master!”

The Pill Spirit was overjoyed and thanked him eagerly.

“Then get to absorbing them. Before I leave, take in all the spiritual medicines here!”

Ning Qi looked ahead and reminded him.

“Yes, I’ll start now!”

At once the Pill Spirit began devouring the spiritual medicines with great enthusiasm.

Ning Qi continued forward and soon reached the gate of a small courtyard.

“After breaking through to Golden Immortal strength, old weapons and armor don’t help me much.”

“Others at Golden Immortal rank can manifest Dharma Bodies and use Law Force too.”

“Besides the Chaos Sword and the God-Slaying Bow, everything else is obsolete.”

“So I need to find some defensive weapons and armor quickly.”

Ning Qi looked at the small courtyard, placing his hopes on it;

if he could find something here, the trip would be worthwhile.

He pushed open the wooden door and walked in.

Inside the courtyard, there were still seals in place.

Fortunately he had been cautious and not tripped any punishments.

“Whoo!”

Ning Qi took a deep breath, circulated his aura, and with a wave cast his Dao Patterns forward.

Soon his Dao Patterns began to intertwine with the seals.

At first the seals resisted his absorption,

but as Ning Qi’s Golden Immortal strength erupted, he quickly dispelled them.

“Without the power that sustained those seals, even if they resist, it’s useless.”

Ning Qi snorted coldly and walked in.

After his destruction, the seals were completely eliminated.

It was like entering an empty realm.

He soon reached the courtyard interior.

“Whoo!”

Before he could move further, a Fierce Wind struck him.

“Bang!”

Ning Qi did not dodge the wind, merely stepped back lightly.

When he reappeared, he was in the center of the courtyard.

“There are seals within seals; even the gaps are rigged.”

“Looks like this place really can’t be taken lightly.”

Ning Qi murmured.

He continued on.

Quickly he reached the chamber’s door.

The door was sturdy and still showed formation fluctuations,

clearly protected by formation seals, so it had remained intact for so long.

Ning Qi could not even see any sign of rotting on it.

He didn’t act rashly; instead he carefully activated a Dao Pattern

and fired it into the formation before him.

As expected, his Dao Pattern effortlessly shattered it.

With no corpses providing power, formations and seals were like children—easy to handle.

No effort was required.

“Ah.”

Once the seal was broken, Ning Qi pushed the door open and looked inside.

The room was nearly empty, offering nothing useful at first glance,

but Ning Qi didn’t believe such a well-protected place would be void.

“Open!”

He channeled his Immortal-Demonic Power and fired Dao Patterns into the room.

The patterns instantly wove into a web.

With his cultivation technique’s support, the web fused with everything inside.

In the blink of an eye, the entire place was thoroughly shrouded.

As he covered the room, the empty chamber began to change.

Gradually items appeared where there had been none,

especially on a tea table, where several storage bags were placed.

Ning Qi, making sure it was safe, waved his hand and stored them all.

Then he moved to a table and found a map.

He looked at it carefully but couldn’t make sense of it,

so he simply put it away and continued searching the room.

At first there was nothing, but in another room he saw a gun hanging on the wall—

a silver spear that was blood-red all over.

The whole weapon gave a chilling impression.

Even at Golden Immortal strength Ning Qi felt a sense of danger.

“What is this?”

Curiosity piqued, he approached and deliberately took the spear down,

then with a hand motion pulled it free from the wall.

“Hum!”

A sharp humming sound erupted.

A transient spear radiance surged and in an instant gouged a trench into the ground.

“Not bad, it’s pretty strong.”

Ning Qi smirked and turned his attention to a nearby bamboo scroll.

He walked over, picked it up, and carefully examined the characters.

Unfortunately the script was too ancient; he couldn’t read it.

“Store it. Have Shi Xiaokun or the Pill Spirit look at it later; they might recognize it.”

Ning Qi put it away and continued inspecting the room.
