Chapter 586: We are kindred spirits

“I can test it on you.”

“Right now.”

Shi Xiaokun said firmly.

“Oh? What if you try to kill me?”

Ning Qi smiled, then looked at him and said, “I only trust myself, and my people.”

When he said the last part out loud, he deliberately glanced at the Pill Spirit beside him.

“Yes, Master! I am loyal to you.”

The Pill Spirit immediately understood the situation and deliberately emphasized its servant identity.

“You kid, you really have high hopes.”

Hearing him, Shi Xiaokun looked at the smug Pill Spirit beside Ning Qi and said, “You two want me to be your servant, right?”

“Offer your soul-blood to me as a sacrifice, become my servant, never revoke it for all eternity, and then I’ll trust you.”

Ning Qi said with a smile.

“That’s doable, but I have one condition as well.”

Hearing that, Shi Xiaokun thought for a moment, then followed up.

“You go first.”

Ning Qi didn’t agree immediately, but let him speak first.

“If this realm reaches maturity in the future, you must let me become the Realm Spirit here.”

Shi Xiaokun looked at Ning Qi, then said in a deep voice, “If you agree, I will willingly sacrifice my soul-blood to you.”

“Fine, what’s so difficult about that.”

Ning Qi agreed without thinking.

After all, it was only the spirit of a bronze mirror, talking about a Realm Spirit—what’s the difference?

Either way it would be under his control.

“Deal!”

When Shi Xiaokun heard him, his interest immediately rose.

“Then let’s begin.”

Ning Qi nodded and told him to start.

“All right!”

Shi Xiaokun agreed.

He then activated all his life force and blood energy, and his entire body instantly erupted with a red radiance.

As the red glow surged, he condensed his soul as well.

Then he slowly drew a drop of soul-blood from it.

This drop was his essence; after condensing it, he flicked it out.

“Swoosh.”

It shot straight toward Ning Qi.

“Whoosh!”

Ning Qi merely waved his hand and absorbed it directly into his palm.

Then he tapped his forehead.

“Swish.”

The next moment, it fused into his forehead, and he immediately circulated it, integrating it into his Consciousness Sea.

Once in his Consciousness Sea, it was engulfed by a thick mist, which then formed countless fine threads that wrapped and bound it in place.

“Phew!”

After the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, Ning Qi exhaled deeply and then fixed his gaze on him.

“Well?”

Shi Xiaokun looked at Ning Qi and asked in a low voice.

“All right.”

Ning Qi breathed easier, then continued, “So, what will you do next?”

“It’s simple. Just merge the bronze mirror with your Pocket Dimension.”

Shi Xiaokun smiled and said lightly.

“Okay, then let’s start!”

Ning Qi nodded, curiosity evident.

He obviously wanted to see how Shi Xiaokun would do it.

“All right, but you have to leave.”

“During the merging process, it’s dangerous for you to stay here, because the mountains and rivers will collapse.”

“Once they finally recombine, they can merge with your Pocket Dimension into a brand-new space.”

“This space can even be considered a world.”

Shi Xiaokun continued, “If you later bring in Natural Treasures and Chaos Stones to refine it, it might even become an entirely new world.”

“You mean a new world like a Lower Realm?”

Ning Qi’s interest was piqued when he heard that.

“No. Like our Immortal Realm, not a Lower Realm.”

Shi Xiaokun shook his head and corrected him.

“Oh? You’re not trying to trick me into helping you, are you?”

Ning Qi frowned at his words.

“Don’t forget, I already gave you my soul-blood.”

“Do you think deceiving me would benefit you?”

Shi Xiaokun looked at Ning Qi and asked in a solemn tone.

There was seriousness in his eyes.

Obviously Ning Qi had forgotten that earlier.

“True enough. Then start the process.”

Ning Qi only then reacted, smiling as he said.

“All right, then you also seal my Pocket Dimension as the Realm Spirit.”

“Both spaces controlled by me will be enough!”

Shi Xiaokun nodded and continued.

“All right! How should I proceed?”

Ning Qi nodded and asked.

“This is simple. We go out first!”

“Then you just need to treat your Pocket Dimension like a weapon, and directly refine me into it!”

Shi Xiaokun said with an easy laugh.

For him, this was not difficult.

“All right! Let’s begin!”

Ning Qi agreed, then in a flash left the world inside the bronze mirror.

When Ning Qi came out, Shi Xiaokun followed,

and the Pill Spirit came out as well.

They were now within Ning Qi’s Pocket Dimension.

“Come on! I’m starting!”

After warning them, Ning Qi took full control of his Pocket Dimension and began the refining process.

Time flew by, and after several hours,

Ning Qi exhaled deeply a short while later.

“Phew!”

Shi Xiaokun suddenly vanished before him,

then directly merged into Ning Qi’s Pocket Dimension.

“Finished?”

The Pill Spirit watched curiously at the change.

“Done.”

After a moment, Shi Xiaokun emerged from Ning Qi’s Pocket Dimension, smiling: “Leave the rest to me. This will take several months.”

“All right, then I’ll leave it to you.”

Ning Qi nodded and continued, “Also, if you successfully refine it, what do I need to do?”

“That depends on the success rate after refining. I’ll assess it when it’s done.”

“If the fusion is high, it won’t require much trouble. If it’s low, it will be a hassle.”

Shi Xiaokun thought it over before he said it.

“All right, then I’ll hand it over to you.”

Ning Qi nodded, then flashed and left his Pocket Dimension.

“Whoosh!”

The next moment, Ning Qi reappeared outside.

He flashed again and arrived in the void.

“Master, your jade pendant is reacting.”

The Pill Spirit suddenly reminded him.

“Hmm.”

Ning Qi acknowledged, took out the jade pendant, and activated it with Immortal Power.

A figure flickered out.

It was the phantom image of Xu Qingqiu.

“Ning Qi, are you all right?”

Xu Qingqiu was clearly still on the Flying Vessel, and seeing Ning Qi, she hurriedly asked.

“I’m fine. Have you returned?”

Ning Qi nodded, then asked.

“We’re heading back right now. We’ll report to our sect at once.”

Xu Qingqiu agreed quickly and hurriedly said, “If you’re fine, go to the city. You’re more important; don’t worry about them so much.”

“Don’t worry, I know my limits.”

“Just report the situation quickly and don’t delay our trip to the Realm Sea Battlefield.”

Ning Qi nodded and then said, “That’s it for now. Contact me when you arrive.”

“All right!”

Though Xu Qingqiu still felt uneasy, she knew Ning Qi’s temperament and didn’t press further.

Ning Qi withdrew his focus and looked in a direction.

A black cloud was rolling toward them.

“Master, what is that?”

The Pill Spirit frowned at the black mass ahead.

“I don’t know, but it’s probably not good.”

Ning Qi shook his head, his expression tightening: “It should be the reinforcements for those people from before.”

“What do we do?”

The Pill Spirit asked after hearing him, “They look fierce and surely have many people.”

“Hmph, however many they bring doesn’t matter. In this realm I’m already overwhelmingly strong, and I suppress them.”

“Let them come. For every one of them that comes, we’ll send one to Shi Xiaokun. Isn’t that perfect?”

Ning Qi smiled and then fixed his gaze forward: “Let’s go meet them.”

“Ah? Master, we’re going to take the initiative?”

The Pill Spirit shrank its neck and asked.

“Of course. What’s there not to face?”

Ning Qi glanced at it, then leapt into the sky.

He transformed into a streak of light and dashed forward.

The two sides met in midair soon.

The black mist stopped.

Ning Qi looked closely and saw dozens of black figures within.

“Who are you?”

“Looking for death.”

“Get lost!”

...

Once they had stopped, they shouted at Ning Qi.

“Don’t be so worked up. Where are you headed?”

Ning Qi didn’t get angry. He smiled and said to a few of them.

“Ting, I’ve never seen anyone this eager to die.”

“You brat, do you know who we are?”

A middle-aged man stepped out of the black mist, sized Ning Qi up, and taunted.

“Oh? Who are you, and where are you going?”

Ning Qi asked, finally understanding.

“We are the Death Servants of the Realm Sea. We’re here to capture idiots like you to refine into our army.”

The middle-aged man looked at Ning Qi and continued, “Also, those who block the way will be killed without mercy; you don’t even qualify to join us.”

“Everyone, I’d really like to join you—we’re of the same kind!”

Ning Qi looked at them and cupped his fist in greeting.

“Commander, don’t waste words. Kill him!”

“This brat is mocking us!”

...

After he spoke, the people behind began to clamour.

Each of them wore an angry expression, wanting to tear him apart.

“Hey, don’t be like this. I told you we’re on the same side. Don’t you believe me?”

Ning Qi looked at them and continued, “Look.”

With that, he simultaneously activated his Immortal-Demonic Power.

His entire appearance shifted into that of a demonic clan member.

His eyes turned scarlet, and his power looked superior to theirs.

“This...”

“What’s happening?”

“Is he one of the demonic clan?”

...

The crowd that had just been shouting now looked at him in astonishment.

None of them had expected to find someone with such strong demonic power, even stronger than most of them.

“How about that, I wasn’t lying. We really are of the same kind.”

Ning Qi looked at everyone and added, “So there’s no need for us to slaughter each other. I found you, so I came out!”

“So you are one of us. My apologies for earlier!”

The middle-aged man cupped his fist toward Ning Qi and then explained, “We’re heading to reinforce our people up ahead. They are enemy experts!”

“Oh? Is that so? Can I go with you?”

Ning Qi asked, “Maybe I can lend you a hand.”

“Brother, you should think carefully. Coming with us is dangerous.”

“If a fight breaks out, we can’t look after you. If anyone is hurt, we can’t be responsible.”

The middle-aged man warned Ning Qi.

“No matter. As long as I can fight alongside brothers through life and death, it’s fine.”

“It’s rare to meet our own kind here.”

Ning Qi acted nonchalant and answered the others.

“All right, then come with us!”

Seeing Ning Qi insist, the middle-aged man stopped refusing.

He agreed to let him act with them.

“All right! Let’s go!”

After Ning Qi agreed, he set off with them.

“Master, you’re amazing!”

The Pill Spirit gave him a thumbs-up.

“Don’t move recklessly. If they notice you, it’ll be trouble.”

Ning Qi warned, then followed.

“Move out!”

The middle-aged man waved his hand and led the group onward.

“Brother, welcome aboard!”

“From now on we’re brothers!”

...

They all tried to befriend Ning Qi.

Since his power surpassed theirs, they were naturally eager to associate.

“Everyone, please help out when the time comes!”

Ning Qi politely said to them.

“No problem.”

“Yeah, we might need your help later!”

...

They said to him.

They moved forward through the black mist.

Soon they reached a Mountain Gate.

From a distance Ning Qi saw this gate looked much like a branch of the Myriad Swords Sect.

In other words, this was certainly a branch of a sect.

At this moment, the people inside that branch had not noticed the impending crisis.

“Descend!”

The middle-aged man waved and instructed everyone to drop down.

Ning Qi also fell with them onto a hilltop.

From here, the Mountain Gate and its surroundings were clearly visible.

Many people were cultivating within, and others patrolled back and forth.

They all looked relaxed, completely unaware they had been secretly surrounded.

“Suppress your demonic aura. We go in.”

The middle-aged man instructed those behind him, then led the team forward.

They headed straight toward the Mountain Gate.

“Move!”

“Everyone, follow up!”

They all agreed and followed closely.

Ning Qi observed the group and joined them.

They arrived at the side of the Mountain Gate; from here everything was within view.

The middle-aged man checked the sky.

Dusk had fallen.

“Wait one hour, then we strike!”

“Be careful and don’t make a sound!”

He thought and then organized the group.

“All right!”

“Yes!”

A few people agreed and went to pass the message along to others.
