Chapter 1896: Advancing Side By Side (II) |
“There are many human factions of the four regions,” frowned Earth Yang. “Are they all willing to be ruled by a bunch of animals? The rest will respond so long as just one of them rises up…”
Cloud Dust laughed dryly. Do you believe what you’re saying? Truly?
“Apparently the Dragon master is very strong…” said Cloud Dust.
“That has nothing to do with me!” said Earth Yang. “Everyone is fighting for themselves and I am situated too far away from Chaos Sky major world. Do you think I’ll be a vanguard for Chaos Sky just because you say so?”
Cloud Dust hesitated. Fair enough.
“It’ll be very difficult to assist you in taking Skyward’s dao universe…” he exhaled. “The four regions are not easy targets at present. But… I can help the senior resolve some small troubles. Thunder World, for example. Silver Moon, for another.
“If New Martial also walks out of Thunder Region… it is not weak, but somehow, the Dragon master forced it out of the four regions. We are here with home ground advantage, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that we dispatch them…”
Cloud Dust looked at Earth Yang. “It’s said that Senior Earth Yang crossed paths with New Martial when you were in Blazing Sun. New Martial is the sort to avenge every single slight they suffer. They will not forget about this grudge just because they’ve left the four regions!”
It was Earth Yang’s turn to fall silent after these words. Was it worth it to join Chaos Sky if they helped him resolve the New Martial issue?
Very hard!
“If New Martial is now an eighth rank faction, that means they have at least two eighth ranks,” Earth Yang said after some analysis. “Their supreme is already a force to be reckoned with! And with Fog Mountain, plus if the Thunder master you speak of has entered eighth rank…
“This is a very difficult opponent indeed!”
“But this is our territory at the end of the day,” smiled Cloud Dust. “If the senior is willing, can not the vast east take out some fellows long trapped in the four regions?”
This was a much bigger territory than the four regions and they held more advantages within it. At the very least, they could utilize their own dao universes here. If convenient, they could even move their worlds to the battlefield. This wasn’t the four regions, where they could only go by their lonesome.
Earth Yang sank into deep thought and nodded after a long moment, “I can give it a bit of consideration, but…”
He glanced into the distance as he responded, frowning as if he’d sensed something. Cloud Dust followed his gaze, but didn’t see anything. He was somewhat confused. What was it?
Earth Yang simply looked for a while before redirecting his gaze. It was a baffling situation. Had a powerhouse just passed through? Everything seemed normal, just that… something felt off.
……
At the same time, in the distance.
A group of people congregated.
Li Hao and his people quickly backed away, surprised that Earth Yang was outside of his world. They’d nearly run into each other.
The young man had wanted to approach the world for a look when they drew close. If it wasn’t for the pendant around his neck suddenly sparkling, he would’ve landed right in the middle of Earth Yang’s senses. It was clear to see from that how wide the opponent’s range was.
“Whew!” Li Hao exhaled with relief. “Is he talking to someone in the void outside?”
What a coincidence.
Fog Mountain looked around awkwardly. He was an eighth rank, but had been slow on the uptake. He hadn’t sensed that the eighth rank was outside his world until they were nearly at the destination. If they’d run into the man ahead of time, Earth Yang would recognize him since they’d exchanged blows before.
Meanwhile, Kang Han poked his head out and looked into the distance. He was worried and afraid, but also curious. He’d never been so close to an eighth rank world in his life. Now that he traveled with these people, he was within touching distance!
They were truly bold.
He hadn’t been able to take a clear look before being dragged away, so he wasn’t fully aware of the situation.
“What kind of person can induce an eighth rank to personally come out and meet them?” The man was puzzled. “Is he another eighth rank?”
He was simply curious about the unknown visitor’s identity, but his question struck a chord in Li Hao. That was true. It was interesting that an eighth rank would be conversing with a seventh rank outside his home. Did this seventh rank have an impressive background?
It wasn’t as if Gemini lacked seventh ranks. Why would the occasion call for an eighth rank to personally come forth?
“Just a seventh rank…”
Kang Han blinked after Li Hao’s words. “Seventh rank?”
What kind of seventh rank would command so much respect?
“Can it be… a representative from one of the other region overlords?” he ventured carefully when he had some guesses. “Otherwise, Gemini wouldn’t show this much face to even a Reincarnation seventh rank, no?”
Li Hao wasn’t too familiar with the situation in the outer region. New ideas struck him when he heard the speculation. A representative from one of the region overlords? Kang Han meant those such as Chaos Sky and Spring Autumn.
Now that was actually possible. Did Gemini have dealings with them? That would put Li Hao in a bind.
“Should we make a move now?” Fog Mountain asked nervously.
“……” Li Hao didn’t know what to say to such an inane idea. “Don’t be in a rush to take action, he’s an eighth rank, at the end of the day. He has home ground advantage and multiple seventh ranks at his beck and call. Not to mention, he also has an unplanned seventh rank visiting him.” Since when did the senior become such a war hawk?”
“……” Fog Mountain had no response ready.
“There’s no rush.” Li Hao stroked his chin. “Since they’re meeting in the void outside, that means that the seventh rank won’t stay long. He’ll leave soon. Let’s follow this seventh rank first, we might have some unexpected gains.
“A representative from one of the regional overlords? That makes me curious.”
The group nodded. They understood. We’re going to take out the regional overlords first, right? We get it!
Void and the rest even started considering if they should pose as the seventh rank once they eliminated the target. That was Li Hao’s preferred course of action, was it not? They would pretend to be the seventh rank and use that identity to break into Gemini.
How lovely!
The plan was set in place. It wasn’t their first time executing such an idea. They had experience. As for which regional overlord it was, what did it have to do with them?
Since whoever it was was in cahoots with Gemini, then they were enemies. Li Hao’s group didn’t have enemies in the outer regions yet, so they would create their own. The chaos was enormous! They had their pick of targets!
Li Hao wasn’t thinking that much. He was yet to make up his mind whether or not he wished to attack Gemini. Taking it wouldn’t bring him much help as of present. Of the seventh ranks with him, none of them could set foot into eighth rank yet.
Number Two, Orchid Forest, and Void were not yet to that layer. They’d only just ascended to seventh rank and would need some time before taking another step forward, even with the help of an eighth rank universe.
As for the dao chess… a seventh rank dao universe would be sufficient at present.
The young man simply decided to follow the representative for now.
The group waited for a while before the seventh rank took his leave. Li Hao quickly followed the man after conversation was concluded.
……
Cloud Dust was in a good mood. He was finally making headway on his mission! Gemini was not a weak faction. He would earn great merit if he could recruit a major dao universe for Chaos Sky. It was just… the terms that Earth Yang demanded…
Well, that was normal. It would be strange if he didn’t propose anything. Chaos Sky was interested in the four regions as well, but was too far away for the moment to do anything.
“If we take Gemini, then we’ll have finally put down roots in the eastern region via a stronger faction…”
The only caveat was that they needed to demonstrate their own sincerity according to what Earth Yang said. And this sincerity was naturally disposing of New Martial.
Cloud Dust was aware of New Martial. It was very strong, but only in the four regions. The four regions were just a small backwater. No matter how eminent New Martial’s reputation was, it was just a seventh rank world at the end of the day. Perhaps it’d even set foot into eighth rank.
That still didn’t make it anything of note.
Cloud Dust wasn’t too wary of New Martial. It would be easier to handle than the Dragon master, at any rate.
The Dragon master was a chaos beast powerhouse that even the Chaos Sky master was aware of. Apparently they’d encountered each other back in the day. The dragon had been fierce then. After so many years, he would be even stronger.
The Dragon master had also killed powerhouses such as Skycloud and Blazing Sun. His strength was evident from those feats. He had several eighth ranks under his command and multiple seventh ranks…
It would be easier to fight New Martial than to attack the Dragon master.
Cloud Dust cast a look behind him as these thoughts traveled through his mind. He hadn’t sensed anything, just that… it seemed like someone was following him?
The thought had just occurred to him when something did register on his senses. A sixth rank materialized before long, swiftly catching up from behind. Cloud Dust’s frown deepened. Whose sixth rank was this?
They didn’t come with the presence of a major world, so… this was an exalted emperor from a lower layer?
They were bold. This was the eighth layer! The unknown exalted emperor didn’t bear the presence of an eighth rank world, yet dared to run around in the eighth layer. Any heavyweight from a major world could outright strike him down if they came across him!
Cloud Dust didn’t mind the unknown person since they were only a sixth rank. Sixth ranks weren’t premier heavyweights in the outer regions. They could be recruitment targets, but seventh ranks didn’t need to give them the time of the day. Not everyone was worth roping in.
Cloud Dust shoes to ignore the other.
Li Hao caught up at a decent pace and called out when he saw the other continue on their way, “Senior!”
“……” Cloud Dust jerked with surprise. Are you talking to me? You’ve got some nerve!
He slowed, but displayed none of his previous genteel bearing. He cast an aloof and haughty look at the newcomer. Peak sixth rank?
That was decent.
A powerhouse of a mid world? I don’t sense the unique presence of a dao universe… what does he want with me?
Cloud Dust was wholly unconcerned.
Li Hao huffed and puffed when he caught up to the seventh rank. “Senior,” he smiled. “I just passed by Gemini. A friend told me that the senior might represent a regional overlord…”
“……” Cloud Dust started. “What is it?”
“Ah, I’d like to ask if the senior is representing a faction and wants to recruit Gemini?”
“……” Cloud Dust froze. Who… talked like that? His expression chilled. “Is this something you should be asking about? Who are you and where are you from? What are you doing in the eighth layer?”
“Please don’t misunderstand me, senior,” explained Li Hao. “I simply want to verify the situation. If there really is a regional overlord wanting to reach out to Gemini, I’d like to ask if we have a chance of joining?
“Or perhaps the senior can make introductions for us and help us join Gemini. The chaos is so unsettled these days that we want to find a way to survive too…”
Is that it? Cloud Dust didn’t know what to say. But a peak sixth rank had come knocking and this was a simple matter to take care of…
“I’m just passing by,” he frowned.
“No, I mean, I have hope of entering seventh rank, senior!” Li Hao quickly said. “I have created a dao domain!”
He materialized it with a wave of his hand and shrouded the surroundings. Cloud Dust blinked.

Oh damn, damn that’s clever! You guys see what LH’s done?
