Chapter 262: Shadow Hunt, Unknown Logic!

The carriage was filled with the scent of blood and gore. Inside, a dozen people sat devouring the sumptuous food on the table, with oil and juice dripping down their chins, yet they paid no mind.

"Slurp!"

Liusu took a big gulp, swallowing all the spaghetti on his plate, even picking up the bits of scallion and putting them into his mouth.

"Delicious. Even though it's just a game, the satisfaction of this appetite feels so real. I wish I could stay here forever! It's like paradise!"

Liusu slumped on the sofa, right next to a bloody corpse, but even that didn't affect his appetite.

He was lost in his enjoyment, noticing the increasingly impatient looks from others, he coughed lightly and said, "When we entered this carriage, a doll explained the rules for passing through this carriage."

"A doll?"

"Yeah, that thing over there. But after it finished talking, it just slumped there and hasn't spoken since."

He pointed to the corner, and everyone looked over. The doll was also Snoopy, only a different color.

It seemed that Snoopy, this game NPC, served as a commentator in this instance.

"The rules are actually simple. During the day, we're safe. But at night, shadows will appear in the carriage to hunt us down, and they will stop at nothing to kill us."

"What we can do is fend off those monsters' attacks and survive until dawn!"

"Killing one shadow allows us to move to the next carriage!"

Liusu pulled out a cigarette from somewhere and started smoking.

The pack of cigarettes was naturally gone, shared among the group.

"That's it?"

"Isn't that simple? Just kill one of those beasts at night and move to the next carriage," the tall man lit a cigarette, pulled out a shotgun, and said disdainfully.

"The rule in this carriage is that ghost houses can't be used, firearms can't shoot bullets, and knives become as fragile as plastic."

Liusu looked at him, "Otherwise, why would so many people have died?"

Everyone was speechless.

"Damn, aren't we just lambs to the slaughter?"

Liusu pointed to the corpses nearby, "These bodies can help us survive. Something on them can fend off those shadows, maybe even turn the tables on them!"

"What kind of items?"

"I don't know, it's strange. Some players found items that could fend off the shadows, while others attracted them, speeding up their game journey!"

"Did you see clearly what those shadows are?"

Liusu shook his head, "At night, it's pitch black, and those things move fast. How could you see clearly?"

"However, ghost creatures can't be used, but Ghost Power can. Previously, in our group, some didn't find items to fend off the shadows but managed to survive the night with sheer strength."

"But they only survived the first night. On the second night, they got injured and were torn apart."

This explained the situation.

To survive, one must rely on some item from these deceased passengers to hunt the shadows. Otherwise, even if you survive the first night, the second, third, and so on await you, and your stamina will eventually run out.

"This makes us look for ghost creatures, but without any clues, isn't it just pure luck?"

Several players frowned, the food in their hands losing its flavor.

Liusu said, "That's not the case. There are clues, but you have to find them yourself."

"The items the shadows fear are related to them."

"Among the players who moved to the next carriage, some were lucky, while others found the logic and identified the correct items to kill the shadows."

At this point, Liusu remembered something, "Tsk, I remember in my group, there was a fierce one who figured out the logic by the second day. At night, he killed two shadows, and by dawn, we saw him carrying two hearts as he moved to the next carriage."

Hearing this, Qin Nuo asked, "Was it a woman?"

"A woman, very beautiful. I wanted to chat her up, but her gaze was terrifying!"

Qin Nuo hesitated slightly.

A woman.

Could it be Qin Yushi?

He hadn't seen what Qin Yushi was like in the instance, nor did he know how to ask for more details.

Liusu took out a blood-stained pocket watch and reminded everyone, "There's not much time left. Around nine in the evening, the lights will go out, and the shadows will come out to hunt."

"We have a little over three hours now."

"Didn't those people tell you any logic?" a player asked unwillingly. They only knew the game rules and how to pass, but had no clue how to actually do it.

Liusu replied irritably, "Players are competitors. Those guys are seasoned players. Why would they tell us?"

Over there, there was a sound. It was the purple-haired man, who had already started rummaging through the corpses.

The other players, seeing this, swallowed their food and joined in.

Three hours wasn't much time, especially with an anxious mindset, it would pass in the blink of an eye.

If they didn't find some reliable items to carry, they'd be done for in this carriage tonight!

The tall man's ID was Mountain. He threw away a watermelon rind and spat, "Damn, the rules in this carriage are even more of a headache than the first one!"

"At least there's plenty of food, right?" Liusu said, hands in his pockets, smiling.

Mountain looked at him, a glint of mocking brilliance in his eyes, but said nothing and turned to leave.

Qin Nuo walked to the front of the carriage. The iron door was locked from the other side, seemingly breakable by force.

But no one would do that.

That would mean breaking the train's rules, inevitably leading to a more terrifying outcome!

Qin Nuo looked at the passengers in the first row. They all had varying degrees of injuries, some with bodies torn open, others with heads smashed, the blood staining the red seats even redder.

Qin Nuo squatted down to examine the injuries of one passenger, a child around ten years old, with a neck covered in blood, seemingly killed by a blade.

The adult next to him was likely his father, holding the child tightly.

His skull was smashed, a piece of bone missing, the bloody wound making one's scalp tingle.

Qin Nuo stood up, looking at the bodies, his expression calm and composed.

For such game rules, he wasn't the least bit panicked.

Because he had an absolute bug of a skill, the Eye of Analysis!

Liusu said the items the shadows feared had a logic to them, which must have some unknown reason.

By using the Eye of Analysis to find the answer from the bodies, wouldn't the so-called logic be easily resolved?

Thinking this, Qin Nuo focused his gaze on the child.

However, after staring for about half a minute, the familiar system sound still didn't ring in his mind.

Now it was Qin Nuo's turn to be stunned.
