Chapter 798: You Dare Seize My Remains… Seeking Death

Lin Moyu targeted only the soul remnants of the Zerg and the Dreadbeasts.

As for the soul remnants of the humans and the Gods, he chose to let them go.

They had once fought to the death for the sake of the entire world.

The soul remnants they left behind should not become fuel for his own growth.

Lin Moyu had principles. He could slaughter millions without hesitation, but he would never betray his own convictions.

Because he was human.

His soul grade was rising at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Improving soul grade was far more difficult than merely increasing soul rank or soul tier.

“Peak 1st grade: the soul solidifies and radiates shimmering light.” Lin Moyu murmured.

His soul had long since solidified and emitted a faint glow—the hallmark of peak 1st grade.

Now, however, that glow was growing brighter, as though about to undergo a miraculous transformation.

“2nd grade soul: iron armor!”

The defining trait of a 2nd grade soul was further solidification, forming a protective layer akin to iron armor.

Iron armor was only a metaphor; in essence, it meant the soul had become stronger and more resilient.

For example, it could withstand the burning of talent flames.

A 2nd grade soul was also a prerequisite for advancing to the True God-level.

Any Transcendent God-level seeking to break through to True God-level had to first achieve a 2nd grade soul.

The soul was the foundation.

As the soul remnants of the Zerg and the Dreadbeasts were eradicated one after another, the soul remnants of the human experts opposing them gradually fell still.

They stood motionless, looking dazed.

After death, only their lingering will remained; their consciousness had long since drifted into oblivion.

Now that their enemies were gone, they no longer knew what to do. They simply remained where they were, staring blankly into the void.

Lin Moyu sighed softly. These experts had sacrificed everything for the human race and this world.

The radiance surrounding his soul intensified until, accompanied by a soft hum, soul-echoes rippled out.

The radiance abruptly transformed into a metallic hue. It looked as though his soul had donned a suit of armor.

“Iron armor… 2nd grade soul! Success!”

Lin Moyu clenched his fist. He had not expected the breakthrough to proceed so smoothly.

Advancing his soul to the 2nd grade had been surprisingly easy.

But 2nd grade alone was not enough.

Although it was sufficient to transport a talent, Lin Moyu had no intention of stopping here.

He had only just entered 2nd grade. His goal was to reach peak 2nd grade and ensure certainty in transporting all three of his talents.

“There are still plenty of soul remnants within the Burial Ground of Gods. It should be enough… and there’s also the other half of the region.”

Lin Moyu shifted his gaze toward the obscured section ahead. It belonged to the Burial Ground of Gods as well, yet it was completely shrouded in dense death aura.

Suddenly, the death aura churned violently, and a roar thundered through the air.

A massive gray-white Dragon burst from the mist and lunged toward the Undead Eye suspended in the air.

Its speed was terrifying. With a violent crash, the Dragon slammed directly into the Undead Eye, smashing it instantly.

Lin Moyu’s body trembled, and his consciousness snapped back.

“A Dragon!”

He froze momentarily, unable to comprehend why a Dragon would appear in this place.

This Dragon was not a soul remnant but a true body.

Yet its flesh appeared shriveled and withered, as though all blood had been drained away.

Even so, its power remained immense, powerful enough to shatter the Undead Eye in a single strike.

“A Transcendent God-level Dragon.”

The Dragon’s aura had already surpassed half-step Transcendent God-level. The immense pressure radiating from it made it obvious that it had truly entered Transcendent God-level.

Lin Moyu could not understand it. Why would a Dragon appear here?

He wanted to ask Antares, but within this place, he was unable to establish a connection with him.

After destroying the Undead Eye, the Dragon unleashed a breath attack upon the undead army.

The breath attack carried terrifying heat, revealing the other party to be a Fire Elemental Dragon.

Ordinarily, a Fire Elemental Dragon’s scales would burn crimson red, yet this Dragon’s scales were an unnatural gray-white.

The undead army reacted instantly.

Hundreds of Bone Dragons descended from the sky. The Death Knights activated their Charge skill and streaked forward like rays of light, crashing into the Dragon.

Meanwhile, the Skeletal Divine Warriors charged headlong through the scorching breath attack.

The Elemental Resistance passive law art proved invaluable against elemental attacks.

It reduced the damage of the law of fire contained within the breath attack ninetyfold.

While far inferior to Lin Moyu’s 8,100-fold damage reduction, it was enough to prevent instant death.

After all, with 1.49 million undead sharing the damage, wiping them out was no easy feat.

In the blink of an eye, the undead army swarmed the Elemental Dragon.

The Bone Dragons latched onto its body, tearing at its scales while unleashing breath attacks of their own.

Though the Elemental Dragon had reached Transcendent God-level, the Bone Dragons enhanced by the Lich Generals possessed half-step Transcendent God-level strength.

Under such siege, even the Elemental Dragon could not emerge unscathed.

The Elemental Dragon thrashed violently, its scales flaring outward like blades, slashing at the undead.

But the undead knew no fear. They braved death without hesitation and refused to yield a single inch.

At this pace, it would only be a matter of time before they dragged the Elemental Dragon down.

“A Transcendent God-level Elemental Dragon shouldn’t be this weak.”

Lin Moyu found it increasingly strange. After all, he had encountered Elemental Dragons before. They were swift and agile.

Even when surrounded, with its Transcendent God-level strength, it should have been able to break free with ease.

While the undead army was powerful enough to contend with Transcendent God-level head-on, actually killing one was another matter entirely.

Moreover, among Transcendent God-level, the Dragons stood at the pinnacle of strength.

Yet this Elemental Dragon felt clumsy and sluggish. It possessed overwhelming raw power but lacked the skill to wield it properly.

Aside from mindless rampaging, there was no fluidity to its movements.

Then Lin Moyu noticed something even stranger.

Although the undead army inflicted heavy damage, the Elemental Dragon’s wounds recovered almost instantly.

The Elemental Dragon was like an unkillable cockroach, continuing to fight endlessly.

“I’ve never heard of Dragons possessing such strong regeneration.” Lin Moyu mused.

Its recovery speed rivaled that of his undead army.

But while his undead army relied on the Lich Generals’ healing, this Dragon relied entirely on itself.

“Other kind... Die!” A soul-echo rose.

The soul remnant of Sword Venerable crossed the battlefield, appearing before the Elemental Dragon in an instant.

With a single thrust, dazzling sword light erupted forth.

Scales shattered as a massive wound was carved into the Elemental Dragon’s body.

But beneath the scales, there was no flesh, only white bone.

“This Elemental Dragon is dead!”

Lin Moyu immediately sensed the dense death aura radiating from the bones.

Then, from within the wound, insect-like feelers emerged, pulling the wound shut in moments.

The soul remnant of Sword Venerable struck again and again, each blow carving deep enough to expose bone.

Yet every wound closed almost instantly under the writhing feelers.

Under the strain of repeated attacks, the soul remnant of Sword Venerable gradually weakened as his soul force rapidly depleted.

At last, his soul force exhausted, and Sword Venerable vanished.

Fortunately, the Burial Ground of Gods was rich in soul force; given a bit of time, Soul Venerable would recover completely.

At that moment, Lin Moyu understood.

The Dragon had died long ago. Its corpse had merely been seized by the Zerg and transformed into a puppet.

And if it was a corpse, then things became much simpler.

Lin Moyu flicked a finger, sending a flame drifting toward the Elemental Dragon.

Law art: Raise Dead.

“If you are a corpse, then I shall resurrect you.”

He wanted to see whether the Zerg hidden within could still control the body.

The long-dead Elemental Dragon was engulfed in undeath fire, burning fiercely.

Within the fire, flesh regenerated and soul reformed.

A thunderous roar echoed through the deep layer.

“Lowly vermin! You dare seize my remains… Seeking death!”
