Book 2: Chapter 83: Redemption Mayhaps?

Yin Hu turned to look at Hei Gu who was sitting at the edges of the camp, nearly half in a bush.

His beaten form watched him the entire time.

Better yet, I should get him out of here before he gets any quick ideas.

Yin Hu waved at him to come forward. Hei Gus expression lit up like a lightbulb, filled with hope and renewed energy. He jumped to his feet and sprinted over toward Yin Hu. Coming to a stop before him, falling to his knees and kowtowing before him by slamming his head on the ground. Unwilling to stop until he was addressed by the ancient being before him.

He stared as the arrogant young master lost every ounce of his once haughty expression and way he carried himself.

Looking more like a young man should rather than the catastrophe he had been wherever he entered, threatening to kill nine generations of a single family for looking at him wrong, or leveling a city with a hundred thousand people living in there for messing up his tea.

Yin Hu had a theory about this once edge lord and how this stark change had occurred.

Not to mention the sudden lack of Qi when Yin Hu had felt his cultivation.

Hei Gus Dao must have been revolved around something that hinged on him being an arrogant young master. His very foundation and the base of his cultivation was kept stable by the fact that he carried himself in such a self-important and conceited manner. To have it challenged would result in an existential fight to not only survive for Hei Gu, but to keep the very identity he had built himself upon.

The fact that Hei Gu had been unfortunate enough to have met him meant the pimp slap had shattered his very essence and power.

Yin Hu had severed his connection with his Dao and identity.

Hence why Yin Hu could not sense the young mans cultivation anymore no matter how hard he tried.

S-Senior? Hei Gu peeked up from his low bow.

Though it was strange.

Yin Hu had never caught anyones personal cultivation. He got a general flicker or blip whenever he was looking for someone of his Clan, like the girls, and sometimes noticed illusions that were strong enough to trick even Da Ruis and Hu Rong, yet he had never sensed someones personal level before. This young man had been the very first and it felt so pitifully weak to him.

I remember it felt like it was at the Qi Gathering Realm.

Yin Hu let his perception skill escape him once more and stared at the world around him. Everyone looked as blank as this guy was now.

Jun and Shui gave off the strange feeling of connection that he got from Da Ruis, though a bit stronger.

Zhong Da and Wu Xui felt exactly like the old ghost though.

He concluded that it might have something to do with the outer and inner court once he fully established their existence with the induction of Rong first and then Da Ruis into the outer court when he decided to turn him into a Sparring Simulator.

Or maybe everyone on this planet was just trash and the C- rank was terrible?

That didnt explain Hei Gu though.

He wondered if an advancement in the girls bloodlines and the sudden advancement of the world after dealing with the Central Power System crystal would make them less trash? All the monsters that might have been asleep due to a lack of Qi should start coming out of their secluded cultivation or whatever woodwork they were hiding in. Cause problems in the world and eventually have their scuffle with the Calamity.

Yin Hu just hoped that he had enough time to have dragged his crew and the new recruits back to the Hu Clans lands within the mountains, conquer it by defeating anyone there, and then isolate themselves from the outside world during the spat between them.

Only opening their doors once it was all over.

Or maybe not.

The Central Power System crystal should be working by the time it was needed to make an illusion to hide them.

S-Senior? Hei Gu asked again, but more hesitantly this time.

Yin Hu blinked as he looked down at the young adult and nodded for him to speak. He had spaced out for some time again. Something he kept doing lately for some reason. He was supposed to act old and ancient, not become old and ancient. The last thing he needed was to start napping midday or drink multiple cups of tea at every opportune time he could

Focus Im letting my thoughts spiral!

Senior! I-I the power youve shown me, Hei Gu looked down at his palms with wide shocked eyes. I hadnt known such things existed.

The universe is vast, young man, Yin Hu fell into his Ancient Being persona as easy as drinking water. He had nearly a year and change of practice with the girls, Demonic Sect elders, old ghosts, and more. Such a young, pitifully weak young man could not shake his confidence and persona even slightly. There are beings out there that could defeat a thousand like you. Some even stronger.

Hei Gus already wide eyes widened even more. He stumbled over his words for a brief moment. I beseech you, senior. I have lost my way. My Dao has been he looked away, too ashamed to even utter those words. Nothing that Ive worked so hard for exists any longer. I am an empty vessel with no purpose

My theory was right! I shouldnt be too happy when he clearly is suffering for it. Shui might read my thoughts and learn a bad habit somehow.

I am lost and without a path. I beseech you, senior. Guide me.

Guide you?

Hei Gu nodded with a clearly broken expression.

Maybe it was crueler to keep him alive if everything he has worked toward since being born was destroyed in a single second. I can give him a rope to hold onto. Let him decide if he is worthy. More aptly, let Rong decide if he is worthy.

You must pay penance. Go, Yin Hu pointed toward the direction he had sent Rong toward. Find the Hu Clans lands. They are occupied by foreign forces that will be ousted when the right time has arrived. Near the edges you will find a Spirit that is scouting under my orders. A member of my Hu Clan and part of my inner courts. A direct disciple. Its name is Hu Rong. Give it this message and it will know what to do.

Im ready, Senior.

Tell him, The one who dragged you out of the manor of horrors has sent you to him. The outer court may flock once more if you deem Hei Gu worthy. Tell him you walked the entire way without an ounce of Qi as penance. To protect you until the day I arrive at the Hu Clan to reclaim my territory. Now get out of my sight. You are not forgiven until then.

Hei Gu jumped to his feet and bowed so deeply his forehead almost touched the ground. Thank you, Senior! I wont disappoint you!

Yin Hu watched him run out of the clearing with more enthusiasm than he once had for being an arrogant young master. It was amazing how quickly people changed once they smacked face first into a stone wall. Annihilating all their preconceived notions about who they were and how strong they actually were. Awakenings and enlightenments tended to be world shaking for individuals after all.

He considered doing it to every arrogant young master he found had it not been such a bothersome task.

I might need to start a arrogant young master pimp slapping division as part of the Hu Clan. It would be a holy cause that would help the world heal!
