Shao Xuan joins a friend in his expedition to a recently discovered archaeological cave. After he picks up an ordinary looking stone he is teleported to a different world and wakes up in the body of a small orphan child. The world he is in now is still in its stone age with primitive tools made of stone and the ways of the people are savage. Savage isn’t the only thing special about the people though, because they have superhuman strength, jump higher than trees and punch stones. In short, they are able to cultivate their bodies. Despite all this, it is a real struggle to survive because of the scarcity of food. Together with Caesar, his pet wolf, he tries to survive in this cruel world. Collapse

At face value, not having read the novel yet, it doesn't make sense to have a pet when it is hard enough to feed yourself.

It's normal you are thinking that but he was gifted it by one of the higher ups in his tribe because of an idea the mc gave him early on. It was meant to be food. So while the mc and other orphans go hungry a lot, the mc didn't plan on eating it. Also while the orphans go hungry very often they get given food of course

The novel is a captivating blend of action, adventure, and a touch of cultivation. The world-building is impressive, with unique tribes, mysterious artifacts, and a hint of ancient history. The author skillfully portrays the struggles of Shao Xuan as he navigates this new world, facing both physical and mental challenges.

I want to ask, is Senior Totem Warrior the end of cultivation or is there still a higher realm? I see in the fandom that there is no higher realm than Senior Totem Warrior.

The ending could have been better, it was disappointing but, other than that, the story was good

It was an overall enjoyable story. It started to taper off tho after
The final battle was very mediocre despite the buildup for it and the ending very abrupt and disappointing. It was kinda nice to get the 2 epilogue chapters telling us about he was doing on the future.

    So yeah, pretty nice read

It had a unique start with a primate era setting, which was it's flair imo. But it lost that uniqueness as the story progressed, after
it basically turns to medieval era(with the usual tropes) though not stated as such, lifestyle/techs become so advanced to be called primitive. The world setup was interesting with many mysterious phenomena and lifeforms, but many of those were left unexplored later on, which was disappointing.
It had some good arcs but there were also boring ones that doesn't contribute anything but towards word/chapter count.
The biggest problem was the axed ending. You can call it open ending but to me it felt like author was bored and just decided to stop. The pace speeding up exponentially towards the end and the last arc which doesn't even have a proper conclusion. The epilogue provided some closure at least.
Imagine a 12 episode season but episodes 8,9,10,11 are missing, the epilogue is episode 12.

Another minor thing, there were no females in the story at all. Well there are ~4 named ones in the whole novel, but only 1
that had any role throughout the story, but that too with a couple of robotic responses and no major impact. iirc there was only 1 line (some chapter towards the end) in the entire novel that showed some personality to that girl.
