With the death of thousands, we get hope for tens of thousands, and maybe even more as the acts improve living conditions. But does that make the deaths worth it? Did Old Kosher deserve to lose his life for the sake of those in the future? Maybe only the goddess knows.

Worth it foe the people left, not so much for those lost.
Unfortunately, I feel any relief is only temporary. Once population recovers and explodes, fierce job competition will lower standards once more. Even the new laws are only a stopgap that could be repealed or circumvented. Its the cycle of history but still worth it in the end as even temporary golden age is better than none.

Same but with Liv. Even in her last moments, she was more concerned about her daughter than for herself. She is the true embodiment of a parent and I was heartbroken to see her go.

From the Author's note at the end of Vol. 2
"...The title of this book is “Faceless”, which is expected to have
three meanings. Note that the following are the standard
    answers for reading comprehension.
The first is to be advance to “Faceless”, which is the simplest and
    easiest to think of.
The second is to represent Klein’s living condition in Backlund.
He uses fake face, fake name and fake identity to get to knows
people, handles things and gets involved in disturbances. But
when he returns home, he is still lonely and deserted.
The third refers to those who have been smashed into powder or
rushed in the great era. In history books, they have no name, no
appearance, no past, no life, and exist only in simple numbers or
descriptions. In a sense, isn’t this a “Faceless”? The least
noticeable cannon fodder, who cares what their faces look like?
Just like the sentence “when one is hungry, one eats another”,
how much sadness, pain, cruelty, bloody and despair are
contained in the simple six words, and how many living people
without faces or names are condensed? Tens of thousands,
    hundreds of thousands, millions!
Therefore, I tried to give some descriptions to the Old Kohler, Liv
and Freya in the waves of the times, try to restore the hopes,
hardships and tragedies of these “Faceless” making them look
like people instead of numbers. Although this second part is a big
reason for scattered, it is the hidden main line. ..."

I hope the donghua will somehow include this monologues in the end that said about cannon fodder faceless...maybe at the scene where Klein visited Kohler's and Liv's graves....Klein could lampoon about it there.

There were three sets of forks and knives, three empty porcelain plates and three cups on the table.

Three cups. One for beer, two for ginger beer.

    They never forgot him.....
Truly a san ending... in the end Kohler, Liv, Freya and all the others were just..... faceless... and the only one mourning them is the faceless one with countless faces gloom
