      It looks like as if Ince Zangwill targets the lady, not Klein, preventing them from meeting (or trying heplessly to arrange the meeting, but it's inconsistent with "target tries to escape control, but unfortunately she was unable to meet with Sherlock"). Or was it the quill itself? I don't know. I don't even know whether we read the "foiled" version of text. Remember, the first time we have read the "story", every time the plan was derailed because Klein achieved the impossible with the help of Grey Fog, Ince Zangwill crossed out the prevented "intended" sequence of events, redescribing them with adaptation to unexpected twist of events. Now we see only the final lines of text, so we can't immediately know whether it was intended to be written by Ince/quill from the beginning or not.
