People are eating this too harshly it's far better writing compared to some of the slop novels on here. It does fall off past chapter 200-300 also I dislike the main character and the story shifts from psychological horror past this point to just cultivation and he no longer bothers with his safe house thing even. Another bad aspect is translation quality around chapter 200-300 is just mtl and it's not edited so very bad to read with genders being switched around frequently and names and titles. Still a solid novel tho all novels I have read from this author are decent I have read mystical journey,way of the devil, decaying world, this novel and nightmares path. They are all solid and I would recommend but they do all start very strong and get good in middle then fall off near end like in this novel but all of them are at least 3 star novel I would say.

The author is stepping on the same rake again. The protagonist is sitting in a cave and masturbating to cultivation. That's the whole story. Sometimes he goes outside to breathe fresh air. Sometimes.

I really enjoyed the new horrors that were constantly introduced, I wish authors focused more on that.

I very much enjoyed the first part of the book; the "horror-survival-base building" was awesome.

After that, the novel slowly transforms into a pure world-hopping cultivation novel, and not a great one. It drags on for hundreds of chapters with MC simply cultivating one new technique after the other. The enemies always closely follow his power curve, but always seem manageable. I got bored of it after a while.

Nevertheless, I recommend you give the story a shot. If only for the first 100 chapters or so. I binged them in one go!

I really enjoyed this even up to Ch. 517. It starts off purely horror survival and was quite thrilling, however that does not stay the main focus as the Novel continues it changes and evolves, With many characters making their own contribution to it…..They are memorable and not forgotten. I do have one major gripe with this, it gets really wonky and will develop in VERY bizarre ways, the Author writes well but sometimes things can be low effort/rushed or just very strange and not fitting. My overall review of this Novel is despite it’s flaws this was an incredibly entertaining Novel with endearing characters.

I’m incredibly insulted it’s been 18 days since I read chapter 600 and there is still no update.
The author has intriguing world building and system.
The protagonist is retarded but reasonable.
I liked the starting concept and like the powercreep into xuanhuan.
Some unresolved plot lines are a bit annoying but the main story is good enough to continue.
I'm 100 fckin sure the author don't even know how a fcking fight works.

I'm incredibly insulted by reading this and I'm sure the author thinks his readers are full of retards.
The author didn't even know the concept of biology and physics.
The protagonist is also a fcking a retard.
Don't get me wrong the concept is good the start is strong very immersive.
And it all went downhill when the protagonist starts enhancing his armor then it went to shit starting from there.

It's very good at the beginning (200 cap) but then it ends up falling down the slope like most...

There is something about this book that sets it apart from all of the other books I have read and that is its lore, this book has one of the best world building I have ever seen with many of the things introduced from the MC’s golden finger hinting towards things that would be revealed 500 chapters later, and
