    I’ve only read up to the first 43 chapters, and all I can say is it’s really good

    The horror elements are present and the world presented is very intriguing. The mc’s cheat isn’t overpowered but gives him a necessary edge.

    The entire time I read it I kept thinking back to a certain game by the name of Darkwood. If you played that and enjoyed it then you’ll enjoy this and you’ll see why it reminded me of the game, at least up to the 43rd chapter.

      Yea so update. It's not like this at all. I'm at chapter 420 now.

      I was writing a whole review to explain but it didn't submit when i clicked it and now it's gone so.

      Essentially though, this book a bit of a letdown, the horror that I enjoyed? gone, very quickly, so quickly that calling this book a horror is honestly an enormous lie.
      It's far more accurate to describe this book as a thriller/mystery/action/cultivation novel, one that's wearing the rapidly rotting skin of a horror novel.

      It's still an okay read, don't get me wrong, but it's a far cry from what it could have been.
      Also biggest letdown is that it doesn't resemble Darkwood in the slightest anymore, and also that that aspect faded so quickly, maybe within the 100 chapters, don't remember exactly.

        I will say though, I do like the plot, I do like the power systems and the disasters. I'm genuinely interested in seeing where it goes from here, currently he seems like he's lost it a little, and I'm wondering if his cultivation technique finally started affecting his mind, or is his fear and despair so strong that he doesn't care anymore.

        Despite all of that I don't expect this book to do too well. Honest rating it's probably a 3.8 or so.

    Read it a while back (MTL). Hey is good for a certain people. I enjoyed it at the start but drop it eventually. MC just too much of a prick for me to like him.

    Author has a thing against hot girls. I forgot the chapter but it was the time when the old lady returned to the town after the bunker she went in was destroyed by the scps. she was in a car with 2 other refugees, some hot mercenary girls. He accept his old friend but does not allow the other 2 to join his bunker. its understandable but he essentially drove the 2 to be desperate enough to attack him. then proceed to act in a self righteous manner about it.

    They were untrustworthy but he gave them no other options so it just obvious whats going to happen. This was 3rd time that this happened. A lot of the conflict he has with the other denizens of the town is because he ignore the situation because "what does that have to do with me?" and proceed to act w/ a surprise pikachuu fast when it blows on his face.

    The mc's cheat was interesting at the start but power creep. its function just expanded too much it got boring, the mystery in the beginning was lost. all problem just get solves by it. he's not a complete dumb dumb but the story has over reliance on it.

    if you don't care that the mc is a selfish ahole then you might still like it. The world, premise and power system is interesting enough to give it a tray. Plus FML is great

    The horror was quite good and gave me a bit of a scare at first. Delving a bit more into it, it seems like a novel with mystery, horror elements and the usage of the black mark being the golden finger of the protagonist. Definitely try reading the first 10 chapters.

    Well, let's go. I read about 400 chapters in 69s, this work is very interesting at the beginning, and good. But as the chapters go on it becomes like any other work by this author, the MC becomes basically the same than the other protagonists of this author's works. It's good, the mystery is relatively interesting too. But it goes wrong (this always happens with this author).

        No, it's not that bad. But it gets boring.

        For more clarity, if at the beginning of the first 300chps it was Rank B then it went to Rank C (a median classification)
