Weary reader, it is an honor that you have chosen this book amidst the heavy, dim library.

Regrettably, this book is unwell.

Your fingers should be able to feel the raised growths on the surface of its cover,

Words written in bygone days are like parasites rooted in the pages, hoping for someone to observe their wriggling,

To feel, to decipher, to touch the essence of this ailing story.

If you insist on borrowing this book, please make sure to regularly check your own physical condition. Collapse

This is a great novel. Lots of gothic science fiction, action and politics going on here, plucking on all my heartstrings for lovecraftian horror and non-mainstream power systems. The mc is fairly complex and seems like more of a person than a mindless xp bot. At least up until around 800 chapters in where the author makes some choices that make the mc seem erratic and lose their sense of character. Hopefully that will be rectified, but seeing as there are only a few hundred more chapters to go, I’m not too optimistic. Otherwise, all the side characters are fairly developed and have their own subplots that live and evolve alongside the main story, making them feel that they arent sidepieces or abandoned. Overall, this is a novel I don’t regret reading and cant wait to see the end of.

being honest here this story has a lot of potential, i understand that people think it is boring or dull but here among us who is not already used to stories of this style, let's talk about the work itself now the mc is a maintained by any acquaintance they have, all this because they are investing resources to be a great knight seems good but sometimes this clashes with the amosphere of the work, speaking of things that clash of the work did not make it very easy the training arc of the mc? lacked substance in that part.

Speaking of the secondary characters, there was a lack of more development in them. They are the typical cliché, the typical rich guy, the typical muscular guy, the typical rogue, the tutor who has a lot of influence and knowledge who wants to ensure a future for humans, etc. etc. The only one who escapes this is Jin, she is a serious lunatic, but her character does not stay in being that lunatic, I don't know how to express it carefully, a lunatic in her preferred habitat?

Honestly I liked the cemetery arc, it gave me the feeling I look for in mystery and action novels, it was a good start. But later it seemed like it turned into a retelling of events, "MC did this, this happened, so and so said that" without any detailed description. Although the background scenery is vividly described.

I don't know how to explain it, it was as if I couldn't connect emotionally and felt that the interactions between characters had no emotion or meaning.

you might like it or hate it. i'm mostly fall on the later camp. the prose isnt just that interesting to me. the pacing feels slow and bog down by how the author describe things. plus the mc does not feel special. i dont feel like rooting for him.

its still a good read for some people but if you are picky like me this is not the novel you fall in love with

why is the rating 3.8? it should be higher. it's the reminiscence of Lord of Mysteries unlike now Circle of Inevitability. It's about exploring the world, exploring the unknown, exploring the mystery not just gods vying for power and scheming (may be later in the story). It's not that I don't like this kinda story but I'm more biased toward the former. I'm just comparing to Lotm series, but the story is more original. Btw the rating should be higher.
