    Here's my review :

After 500 chapters of this, I can say author is great at putting baseball plays on the paper.
It feels real, interactive and overall is really nice to follow.
But, what he has in baseball writing he lacks in character development.
The FL is basically a vase that while being really nice and cute doesn't help much and puts the MC in more dangerous situations than she should, and the main reason I'm writing this review is because the damn author decided to take away the system for 18 months and our MC, although supposedly smart and mentally strong, went into a slump and lost basically all his credibility.
I know it's a plot to make him not rely on system too much but damn why make him SO bad, make him stop improving OK but don't nerf him...
Overall it's still great so read it and thank me later gadies and lantlemans.

This is an good system sports novel. I have some problems with the amount of pitching/lack of recovery days for the pitchers from a sports perspective, and I don't think the character work is as good as in "The Hitting Zone", but overall its a solid experience. There is just enough nuance in the MC to vaguely discern some sort of personality beyond a faceless machine which trains relentless like the MC of "Greatest of All Time." Character growth (beyond system power) is slow and late to come, but there is some so that's something, and even some of the side characters get some development. And when the inevitable "twist" or complication crops up the author has been good about foreshadowing them or providing non-MC characters perspectives to introduce them to keep the believability high.
That said it is a mostly a kind of wish fulfilment/power fantasy and a sports setting so I don't expect everyone to love, but assuming the genre isn't a deal breaker this one is a pretty solid read. 4.2/5

I agree with your points. One of the things I dislike about The Greatest of All Time is how Zachary is basically just a training robot and interactions seem like conversations between NPCs. I wish he had more personality than eat, train, sleep repeat.

I love sports movies, TV series, manga, manhwa, manhua, whatever. I thought I liked his novels too, but no. Unfortunately, when there is no image and sound , the author must write at a very high level so that he can give us those emotions. I've tried so many sports novels so far, but I couldn't finish any of them. Usually, between 200-300 chapters, it gets so boring that I have to quit.
In this novel, I came to 200+ pages very quickly and the novel flowed by. But then everything became so repetitive that I could guess what happened even if you didn't read a match. Additionally, the author added some ridiculous events to further MC's life outside of baseball. He suddenly forgot some characters. Example Shiro.
In short, it is difficult to write a sports novel, it is necessary to convey those emotions, see and hear that environment. Watch a sports match without sound and you won't understand anything. Unfortunately, sports novels will always remain mediocre.
