Mark Castle loves horror movies. But when he died in the hands of a cult, he is reincarnated and forced to become a dungeon core…

And makes his domain as a lonely cabin in the woods. With newfound powers, he starts his revenge on the people who murdered him.

Utilizing all the tropes and monster manuals of his favorite horror books and movies, Mark sets up a simple rule: lure unwitting victims into the cabin, kill them off one by one, and feed his core with their souls. If anyone is lucky enough to survive until dawn, he rewards them with treasure...and their lives.

But as Mark feeds and grows, the people who hunger for his unique power begin to take notice, and Mark is in even more danger than he imagined.

The Cabin is Always Hungry is a dungeon-core horror slasher and progression LitRPG with brutal deaths, dozens of horror movie-inspired monsters, classic horror settings, and tons of redshirts.

I'm on Act 3, Chapter 14 right now, and oh how I understand your emotions.

In the city, because of hunger, he killed innocent people - I understand that.
A forester died for it in the forest - I Resigned IT.
But inviting the innocent to your place and KILLING FATHER WITH HIS CHILD'S HELP - WHAT'S THE MAIN HERO FOR * * Is So!!!

You must remember that becoming a dungeon core changed his whole being. He still has the memories of being a human but he is a whole new creature. If a human mind were transplanted into a tiger would it not follow the instincts of the tiger, even if it goes against what his memories tell him?

Chapter 3 was the most disappointing. instead of hiding and then making your move. he immediately attacks and because of this, the one he attacked called his friend and reported the unusual ability of the main character. looking at his actions, for some reason, the intelligence of an 18-year-old guy is not visible.

Do you enjoy violence? Do you enjoy exceptionally gruesome descriptions of horrible people meeting similar horrible fates? If so, then this blend of campy horror & dungeon core genres is for you.

B+ because I'm a f#cking sucker for this type of horror.

The title does remind me of that cabin movie. Looks like they have same premises.

Good, only thing I personally don’t like the is the structure of the story. This is a dungeon core story, but the author is leaning hard into the horror movie elements by making each arc a separate “encounter” with a single group.

To me, this forces the story to move far too slowly, and the brutal deaths get old after a while. That combination really helps to kill my interest, but the system and mechanics behind the story prop it up.

My hope is that in a few arcs the story will speed up, after all, dungeon development is one of the best parts of a dungeon core story
