I made this account solely to comment on how strange Xu Qing has been acting as of late. He meditates often which by his own admission doesn’t accomplish much - what happened to his love for learning? Why has he not been reading and researching during the travel to the capital or gone to visit any of the libraries during his stay? This feels out of character. Then he goes and says nah I won’t take this once in a lifetime opportunity because a pill I’ve been brewing for half a month needs my attention!?! What??? Surely the reasonable thing to do is inform Plum of the situ and either restart the pill again (oh no you lose half a month) after the day or see about someone else checking on it. He hasn’t done anything with his apprentice’s soul either. There’s heaps more like not really digging into his life lamps or the rest of his nascent souls and more I’ve forgotten too. Just doesn’t make much sense.

SPOILERS FOR Reverend Insanity BELOW ALTHOUGH ITS NOT TOO MUCH OF A SPOILER IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF THINGS TO BE HONEST BUT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I remember when Fang Yuan was acting incredibly odd and stupid in Reverend Insanity I made a similar comment and thankfully it turned out that the author had done it on purpose as part of a plot point of him being influenced without him knowing. This better be the same with his older bro doing that to him or something. It’s so frustrating watching something good slowly get worse.

Also, why does the author have to describe every grand event with the same few words… heaven rending, earth shattering, multi coloured light ffs mix it up a bit goddam

bruv what. We hear that it costs a lot of destiny aura to open, so such an opportunity is rare. But then he gives it up. And other imperial offspring are missing out as well. So it seems that the cost isn't that exaggerated??? Or is it like the gold rush aftermath. There is gold we can find out there, it's just that the likelihood 'I' would find any is dismal.

Is it the, emperor gives a cold shoulder to the one he actually cares about the most situation?
