    So many commenters are becoming apologists for the clans. Their indifference has a cost, and there's no way to justify it on the basis of self-interest. The clans depend on the mundane human population for their continued stability so it's in their best interests to have as many of them preserved as possible. And a united front in Antarctica would be have been infinitely easier than the shitshow it ended up being in the end.

    It has already been said that the clans are more focused on the realm of dreams than on reality, so what happens in the periphery is not their fault but the government's, since they are the ones who rule the land.

      Sunny’s problem with all of them is that they have the power to help but instead use it to go at war against each other. Sunny didnt want to help at first either but then he quickly changed opinion both of the circumstances and living through the loss of everyone in center antarctica. If the great clans bothered to send even half of the power that they planned to go at war with, to central Africa, there was a high chance that the losses would have been much less

    To all the people saying that Sunny is wrong to call out the Great Clans for not helping, let me remind you that in this chapter itself Sunny mentions that he would have excused them if they had not tried to turn the continent in their private battlefield.

    One more important thing, the great clans are not just remaining passive, since a long time they have been suppressing Masters from becoming Saints resulting in weakening human strength and now that Humanity needs the strength they just ignore it mostly and continue their own personal thirst for power.

      As Sunny just mentioned in this chapter, the Great Clans are not just remaining passive but using the continent as their private battlefield gambling with millions of lives.

      And the reason Sunny feels that the Great Clans are obligated to help is because they themselves suppress others from transcending and becoming Saints. So they aren't just mot helping, they are suppressing the people that can help and also gambling with lives of innocent for their personal growth.
