      No one can sleep because the mundane have a seed of nightmare in them which will cause them to go into the first nightmare or open a gate and the awakened ones will just get sent to some random part of the dream realm

          Because the gates are so close it somehow affects those out of the age range that haven’t been called by the spell to the first nightmare which is why even mundanes can’t sleep unless in a green zone and maybe yellow if lucky. Which is why that scientist in LO49 went crazy for awakened stimulants and died using them cause he’s mundane.
