The novel is quite good if you read it quickly, I really enjoyed it back then. However, with chapters coming out once per three days the novel became crazy boring, now I get complainers who say it has zero progression. It's been a year since I caught up to the ongoing chapters, and I just don't bother to read them at all anymore, the text feels kinda empty. My recommendation would be to wait until it's finished

it just feels like there's 0 progression author is not great at describing/making texts stand out

which gives it a plain boring style

is unique but just feels uninspiring

how I explained it in a comment after 120 ish was that this is basically just a slice of life think, dungeon reset ish.

it's just very plain no side characters no world building no character development

I don't taje back what I said but I will say the story does get better after 120

side characters are introduced slowly... some small plot twists even a fmc and characters developed

although by the gods does it take a while

it starts to improve around 140 ish and it acutally good then it drags quite a bit and it feels all the side characters including female lead just get shoved in the back.. the cat for example doesn't get mentioned nearly at all after it's introduction and the noble side of things nothing really happens.. there's small skirmishs and what not and for a while it stops focusing on runecrafting

it's just a very back and forth story that shows growth and then author takes a week break and then the story regress 5 steps back

and then the story gets very bad after 400 ish it's just borderline unreadable

the author forgets how to use a space bar and starts to use ai

a single sentence dialog gets stretched to 8 lines it feels completely soulless with barely any progression at all

although it has action it's just sooo bad xD it's usually mc running for 3 chapters and then he miraculously kills everybody
it's uninspiring slop plain and simple

read this and then go read birth of the demonic sword similar mc but completely different outcomes I want mc to acutally go out and things with his creations

there's plot lines but no plot

the dwarf union for example we have but only 2 people of impact in the union

or the shop guy from early on when mc was a t1 rune scribe slave

          or for example the church

or his father getting development we have had 2 single sentences from this guy in 500 chapters

or another one Roland hidden mother royal family line development

or more Duke fights more theives/assassin's/guild/alchemist/mage development

author writes and writes plot lines AND NEVER NEVER FUCKING USES THEM

after 500 the story gets decent again it acutally develop character ish

Mc is back to dungeon grinding

first off the writing got better what didn't get better was author uploads xD it's like every 4 or so chapters he decides to take a break

at current rate where we probably are around 60%ish through the novel I expect around another 400 ish chapters but depending on how author drags dialog out it could be 800. with author only releasing barely 80 chapters yearly

you're looking at a project that will 1 not have an ending and be dropped or 2 an ending that isn't good

which makes this less enjoyable imo
this book doesn't have high highs but has so many low lows that it's hard not to rate this around a D or maybe even a c - score

if im going off what I read these last 3 months with salvos and oracle path which I consider both c tier books as well

salvos being c and oracle path being c+ maybe even b honestly if author just didn't drag fights for 200 chapters with a 12 chapter/yearly upload schedule *not lying about that btw* it's not even a 10th of the way through the main story and prob needs 6k more chapters xD anyways

this book is just avg author doesn't Excell at anything his writing is subpar most of the time

if you want to waste a weeks worth of time reading this then go for it

I've read up to chapter 271.
It's an interesting development of abilities, especially crafting and things related to runes. It's really interesting to follow.
At first, we're shown a vast world with kingdoms and empires, but in reality, the action takes place in a few cities, which is disappointing. However, this may change later.
The main reason why I stopped reading is the main character. In my opinion, he's just a stubborn, naive fool with absolutely no social skills. It's not interesting to follow him, and there's no character development. Don't even think about any manipulations, bargaining, secret deals, or anything interesting in the novel. He just sits in the workshop and does something.
My opinion, I might continue, but for now, I'm giving up.

This is a good novel overall.
It starts with a serious and streetsmart protagonist and in the middle we get an emotional MC (a bit extra but tolerable) and in the future ...
Well, we are waiting for the future.
    No xinxia-wuxia or chinese bs.
Well there is a hint of eastern continent or Asian culture or people with "eyes like apostrophes"(pun intended) and some names. But till now, chapter 588 in Patreon. And its completely western.
Its a bit slow paced. Time skip happened a few times. But its few and fow small time gaps.
Don't judge before reading the novel. Its great and especially great if you are tired of Asian names in novels.
Mind it that I'm Asian but I'm annoyed by eastern/Asian name/word in western setup. So this is good.

You would have read 100+ of other novels on sites like these where if you start a new xianxia novel or something similar you can see plot points coming from a hundred trillion light years away

Start is nice, after around 350 or even before that, we're dumped into loads of filler plots. At 400, AI takes over and author prefers writing 2nd book at the same time, so we basically have 2 poor quality books written for 80% by AI instead of 1 actually good one. I'm not even sure if author reads what chatGPT generates for him but later chapter's mistakes are downright stupid and hurts to read.

Not recommended 5/10 for a good start but reading ongoing now, it physically hurts.
