    Everyone is so pessimistic... The quality has been consistent so far. And as for the 'misunderstood romance' trope, well... I've never read this author's other works, so I'm basing this entirely on my own judgement of the content within. It's not intrusive, ties into the overarching plot of Max growing his powerbase, and something I find (biasly) entertaining. The story has shown its hiccups, but not enough to start looking for specters where there aren't any, and dropping in dismay... mimo

      We are missing the misunderstanding romance/love trope this author is known for. That little spice in the mix.

      Edit: Don’t know why I’m getting hate, it’s in all this authors works except this one (so far). Just for the record, I’m not a fan of that trope, so many female leads driven to insanity.
