Chapter 2: Overprotective Family. |
*Ring*
A bell echoed in the house, signaling that dinner was ready.
Isaac left his room and started walking down the long corridors.
He descended the stairs all the way to the bottom floor, also known as the first floor.
Isaac entered the dining room and saw 6 figures sitting while a lot of food was on the table.
''Isaac.'' Isabella gently smiled and pointed at the chair next to her.
Isaac sat down next to her and glanced at others individuals on the table.
In the main seat of the table was a man with short brown hair and grey eyes and handsome facial features. He was wearing his usual business suit, giving him a look of dignity and sternness. He is Isaac's father, Maxwell.
On the other side of the table, a young man with slightly longer brown hair and sharp eyebrows. He had a lean body with not much muscle. His looks were quite ordinary, with few unique features. Especially his ear piercings, making him look quite unique. He is Isaac's big brother, Marvin.
Next to Mark, a beautiful young woman was sitting. She had long brown hair with blue eyes, and a curvaceous body. She is Isaac's big sister, Sophia.
Next to Isaac, a beautiful young woman in her 16s was sitting. She had long black hair with delicate-looking eyebrows, and smooth-looking skin. Her body was petite with moderate-sized breasts, she also has soft-looking lips and a cute pointed nose. She is Isaac's little sister, Alice.
And next to Isaac, his mother was sitting. Isabella had beautiful black hair with blue eyes and an attractive face. Her body was perfect hourglass with long legs, not looking any worse after having many children, instead she still looks like she is in her 20s.
They are Whitelock Family.
They all put their hands in praying gesture.
Maxwell opened his mouth, ''Goddess of Snow. Thank you for blessing this meal.''
After that, they took their forks and knives and started eating their dinner.
Maxwell put a steak in his mouth and gently ate it.
''How was school?'' Maxwell asked.
''Fine,'' Marvin answered.
''I got new friends!'' Mark cheerfully said.
''Fine,'' Sophia answered.
''It was alright...'' Alice said quietly.
''...'' Isaac was quiet.
Maxwell nodded and turned his gaze towards Isaac, ''Isaac, what have you been up to today?''
''I went for a walk today,'' Isaac answered.
Maxwell put his fork and knife on the plate— he wiped his mouth with a napkin, ''Why did you do that?''
Isabella sighed.
Alice with worry towards Isaac with concern, and slightly pale face.
''It was only a simple walk...'' Isaac sighed and replied.
Alice grabbed his hand, ''Don't go alone, ever again!''
''That was very reckless.'' Maxwell replied, he looked with gentle eyes towards Isaac, ''Tell me when you want to go for a walk, I will get bodyguards for you.''
Isaac sighed and nodded.
Isabella then changed the conversation topic, ''Isaac bought VR Helmet— apparently, he is planning to play White Online.''
Maxwell was surprised, ''Really?''
Isaac nodded, ''I wanted to try.''
Maxwell nodded, ''My company invested in White Online as well.''
''Really?'' Isaac was surprised.
Isabella wasn't surprised— she already knows how much White Online will impact the world in the future.
Maxwell nodded and kept eating in silence.
Isaac was about to continue eating but noticed his hand being trapped in Alice's hand.
''Alice...'' Isaac whispered.
Alice turned her adorable yet beautiful face towards Isaac, ''Yes, brother?'' She whispered quietly— only Isaac could hear her.
''Can I get my hand back?'' Isaac whispered and smiled wryly.
Alice used her thumb to feel Isaac's soft skin and reluctantly took her hand back.
Isaac's smiled wryly because of the overprotectiveness of others, but he started concentrating on his dinner.
Mark ate quickly, stuffing every food possible into his mouth.
Marvin and Sophia ate slowly, without a word.
Isaac emptied his plate— he stood up and said, ''Thanks for dinner.''
''Are you sure you ate enough?'' Isabella curiously asked.
Isaac nodded, ''I did, mom.''
Maxwell then opened his mouth, ''Isaac, did you decide your class in the game yet?''
Isaac shook his head, ''I haven't seen anything about the game yet.''
Maxwell nodded, ''Decide wisely.''
Isaac nodded and left the dining hall.
Shortly afterward, he arrived at his room again.
He grabbed his laptop, which was the newest model.
Isaac went towards his bed and sat down.
His back leaning on the wall.
He started typing on the laptop the White Online's website.
Isaac scrolled down and used his mouse to click [Class]
[Fighter; Swordsman - Knight - Brawler - Thief - Assassin]
[Shooter; Marksman - Gunner - Hitman - Archer - Hunter]
[Support; Medic - Healer - Potion Master - Poison Master - Priest]
[Mixed; Paladin - Spellcaster - Trap Master - Trickster - Dark Priest]
[Reminder: There are Hidden Classes, but they aren't necessarily stronger!]
''Fighter... Shooter... Support... Mixed...'' Isaac looked at the website, trying to find the descriptions of every class, but didn't find any.
A certain forum was also located on the website, which was currently bustling.
The top three most viewed forums were from players who were apparently ''Beta Testers.''
Isaac clicked at those forums with curiosity.
But he was greatly disappointed.
The Beta Testers only said how amazing the game looked, but nothing about the gameplay.
Obviously, hiding the critical information.
Isaac left the forums and looked at the rest of the website with curiosity.
Then he saw a fascinating article.

Isaac clicked it instantly.

Isaac wasn't very interested in Legacies; it is mainly for the players who want to go pro.
Isaac closed the laptop and put it away.
He looked towards the window and saw the sun disappearing from the sky.
*Knock* *Knock*
Isaac heard knocking from the door, ''Come in.''
The door was opened by a middle-aged man, his father.
''Dad?''
Maxwell nodded, ''Are you busy?''
Isaac shook his head, ''I went through the classes and Legacies of White Online.''
Maxwell nodded and sat down on his bed, ''Son, are you planning to play White Online casually or more seriously?''
Isaac scratched his head, ''I am probably going to get bored of it.''
Maxwell looked at him, ''If you don't get bored, what then?''
''I will keep playing, I guess...'' Isaac said, ''Why are you asking me that?''
''World... It won't be similar after White Online... The Legacies will play a big part in it.''
Isaac looked confused but listened to his father's words.
Maxwell patted Isaac's shoulder and left the room, leaving confused Isaac alone.
But then, a few minutes later.
Another knock came.
''Come in,'' Isaac said.
A beautiful and adorable-looking girl in her 16s opened the door this time.
''Alice,'' Isaac said with a smile.
Alice sweetly smiled and sat down on his bed.
''You shouldn't have gone outside— I got worried.'' She pouted and said.
Isaac rolled his eyes, ''I am your big brother— I should be worried about you.''
Alice giggled and moved closer to Isaac, ''Worried... About what?'' She turned her beautiful blue eyes towards Isaac.
''Of many things,'' Isaac said.
Alice pouted, ''That was not correct answer.''
Isaac chuckled and lied down on the bed.
Alice lied down as well and put her head on his shoulder.
''My friends talked about White Online today... Most of them plan to skip school to play it.'' Alice said.
''The game seems interesting.'' Isaac nodded.
Alice turned her head towards him, ''Be careful of the girls, alright?''
Isaac smiled, ''Why?''
''They might trick you'' She said gently, she left the bed and ran towards the door.
Isaac scratchd his cheek, ''I won't be tricked, you know me.''
Alice turned her head and showed her tongue, ''You are usually very dense!''
Isaac laughed and shook his head, ''In the past, yes... But I am now more careful.''
Alice opened the door; she took a last glance towards Isaac.
She pouted, 'You should have known that your best friend liked you... But because you didn't respond to her feelings... That incident happened.' She thought in her mind and closed the door behind her.
Isaac sighed and kept looking at the ceiling.
He lied down on the bed in silence until his eyelids started getting heavier.
And slowly, he drifted to sleep....
